Hidden Hill Family Campground, Harrison, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is heavily treed, so the owner has installed satellite dishes for both DirecTV and Dish Network, with connections available at the back-in sites. The Wi-Fi is very good. We have found the owners to be very friendly and proactive in an effort to ensure their campers' satisfaction. We were greeted as we checked in, led to our site, and assisted in parking. Overall, a very pleasant experience. We camped at Hidden Hill Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park with heavy check-in activity. There are two incoming lanes and 5 (I think) windows to facilitate the check-in process. The security for the park is good in that there is only one entrance and exit with employees watching each incoming vehicle. Unfortunately, that same entrance is also the only exit and the single location of the dumpsters - with no trash pickup provided, we had to walk or drive >1/2 mile to get rid of our trash. The campsites are gravel/sand and the interior roads not paved. The sites were large enough and level, and we were able to access the satellites easily between the trees. Otherwise, there are lots of activities for families and a long lakefront. The Wi-Fi had a fee, but we were given coupons for free access. We found the staff friendly and helpful. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the 'overflow' lot, back-in. Excellent power & water. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We're very close to the train tracks, but the trains didn't affect our enjoyment. This is our first stay, but won't be our last .. very satisfied. We camped at Elkhart County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Lakewood Village Resort, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We used this park for a two-night 'overnight' to allow us to visit family in the area. When I reserved the site, I asked for a 50A site with access to the satellites: I did not use the water, sewer, or cable. When we arrived, the staff didn't know we were coming; when we said we weren't C2C, they didn't want to let us stay. It turns out that they are under new management, but they ended up honoring the offer made by their predecessor. I was told to 'pick a site anywhere on the last row and let us know.' Unfortunately, I picked a site and started setting up before checking the power. It was only 30A; it turns out that, of the 15 or so sites, only two had 50A, and I had to check till I found one. Otherwise the power was good, but there was definite age on the pedestals and receptacles. We camped at Lakewood Village Resort in a Motorhome.

Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground, with good power and water and a very helpful staff. I would give it a '10' if it had paved roads to keep some of the dust down. The sites were level, wide and long; the dog park is good-sized and clean. The trains were close but did not bother us or intrude on our sleeping. Mammoth Cave is nearby, as are several good restaurants and other activities. We will stay here again We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Majestic Oaks RV Resort, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is the 5th or 6th time we've stayed here. The park is very well-appointed, roads and sites concrete. Very good power and water, good wi-fi. I read on an earlier review that anything over 40 feet would have problems, but there were 9 45-foot motorhomes set up while we were there. The sites can be a little tight, but the campground is the nicest in the area, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We WILL be here again. We camped at Majestic Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.
