Coachlight RV Park, Carthage, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The park is easy to access and maneuver through. Interior roads are paved, sites are gravel and level. Most of the park has mature trees and is heavily shaded but there is a section in the sunshine with good satellite reception. No restrooms, but the laundry was clean with a nice book exchange. Electric, water (softened!), sewer and wifi worked well. Over the air TV stations were available. Verizon phone and data were available in the area. Staff was friendly and the park was attractive with whimsical decorations, bird feeders and squirrel feeders. The park was quiet with only minimal traffic noises. We would be happy to stay here again. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tievoli Hills Resort, Clarksville, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Tievoli Hills deserves to call itself a resort with many housing options, activities and well-groomed landscaping. The staff was friendly, bathrooms and laundry were kept clean and the area was quiet even when occupancy was high on the weekends. The property is very large and offers fishing, boating, basketball, golf (putt-putt and driving range), tennis, indoor basketball, a pool, tent camping, villas, cabins, an event center and rv sites. It is remote with neither Verizon data or phone service and a long drive to shopping and restaurants. Electric, water and sewer were good but wifi did not reach the rv park and was not truly functional even near the villas. Roads and sites in the rv section were gravel and easy to navigate. Some sites offer a lot of shade. The park is situated on a narrow, rural highway but is easy to locate. We paid a special weekly rate. We camped at Tievoli Hills Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Darling State Park, Brighton, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

The campground consists of paved roads and gravel sites. Sites follow the contour of the land and can be very far from level side to side. Roads and sites are narrow making caution necessary on the long curvy entrance road and sharp turns into the sites. Our pull-through site had a picnic table, fire pit with adjustable cooking grate, and open view of the sky for good satellite reception. There is no AT&T data or phone service in the park or nearby communities. Bathrooms and showers were spacious and clean. We camped at Lake Darling State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is very easy to access and to maneuver within. The hosts/owners were friendly and helpful. Utilities, including wifi, worked well. 4 Aces RV Park, Kinsley, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Attractive small park with very friendly management; changes in our stay were cheerfully accommodated. The park is easy to access and maneuver within. Roads are gravel, sites are concrete pads with grass in between. Utilities are good and AT&T service in the area worked well. Sculptures and paintings are whimsical and attractive. Restrooms and laundry are clean and well-kept. The rate includes the Passport America discount. We will happily return. We camped at 4 Aces RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whispering Elms Campground, Baker, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This scruffy but friendly park provides good utilities (excellent water pressure and very good wi-fi). AT&T phone service worked well but there was no AT&T data service in the area. Most of the park is gravel with little definition between interior roads and sites and some areas are more dirt than rock. Our back-in site was very far from level side to side. Many of the pull-through sites have shade from mature trees. The remote area provides dark skies and quiet; the park provides the ability to visit without roughing it. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This park is directly on a busy highway with a lot of large truck traffic so highway noise was significant. Sites and roads are level gravel with mature trees and well-kept grassy areas at some sites and behind a lot of the back-in sites. Concrete pads and utility locations make many sites narrow and awkward. Basic utilities were good but wi-fi was very slow. AT&T phone and data worked adequately. We camped at Antelope Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camperworld Lakeside Park, Duchesne, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

When approaching from the east the first entrance to this park is an awkward journey between a cemetery and a private drive past the laundry and restrooms before finding the office. Once there the manager is friendly and helpful. Interior roads are gravel; sites are gravel and follow the slope of the hillside so some are far from level. Mature trees and wide swaths of grass separate most sites. The site dimensions on the parks website include the grassy area so do not accurately reflect the space available for parking an rv and tow vehicle. Basic utilities worked well but there is neither cable nor wi-fi available. AT&T phone and data service worked adequately. Restrooms and showers were worn but clean. There was some highway noise but the park was mostly quiet. Sadly, low reservoir levels make the boat ramp and fishing pier unusable. We camped at Camperworld Lakeside Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yampa River State Park (Headquarters Campground), Hayden, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This appears to be a fairly new campground and is very nicely maintained. The roads and sites are level gravel and laid out well for ease of access. Trees are small and offer little or no shade. There is good 50 amp service but no water or sewer hookups (water is available in the park and a dump station is available). AT&T phone and data service worked well in the area. Laundry and showers were acceptably clean. The area is quiet and the staff was friendly. We camped at Yampa River State Park (Headquarters Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverview RV Park & Campground, Loveland, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Interior roads and sites are level dirt with gravel. Many of the pull-through sites are side by side. Sites are close together but generously wide roads make maneuverability easy. Many mature trees provide a lot of shade. Electric and sewer were good, water pressure was low, wi-fi was frequently slow but functional, cable was basic but worked well, AT&T phones worked but there was no data service. The restrooms were clean, the laundry was worn but clean. Many sites are permanent and a lot of those are old, sprawling and unkempt. Office hours are rather limited but the staff was friendly and helpful. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Sites and roads are level gravel with adequate width for maneuverability. Narrow grass strips separate sites and mature trees provide shade. There are a lot of permanent or seasonal residents but they were not a detriment. Basic utilities worked well; wi-fi was mostly functional; cable worked well; AT&T phone and data were good in the area. Showers and laundry facilities were a bit aged but clean. The staff was very friendly. The fee was $33/night before taxes but with both Good Sam and cash discounts. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Chapman Creek RV Park, Chapman, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park has gravel interior roads and level gravel sites that are very narrow. It is fairly new and some areas are soft along the edges. The utilities were good but the wi-fi only worked with some of our devices; AT&T phone service was good but data service was poor. There is no shade and a lot of road noise. Facilities were clean and the staff was friendly. We camped at Chapman Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This was an easily accessed overnight with level gravel/grass sites and level gravel interior roads. The owners were onsite, helpful and friendly. Basic utilities were good, there was no wi-fi, but AT&T phone and data worked in the area. The local grocery store was within walking distance. We would stay here again. Ami's Acres Campground, Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The friendly and conscientious host (owner?) is very welcoming and provides area information as well as escort to your site. Interior roads are steep, rough and pot-holed. Sites are narrow, gravel, level terraced areas cut into the hillside. Mature trees provide shade at many sites. Many units appear to be old and permanent. Electric worked well, water pressure was low but okay, wi-fi was good, AT&T phone and data signals were fairly good in the area. Though we managed to enter and exit without mishap in our 39' fifth wheel the park is iffy for big rigs. We camped at Ami's Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Butch Cassidy RV Park and Campground, Salina, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The park has good basic utilities, level gravel sites, a nice rec room, clean restrooms and bargain laundry prices. Occupancy was low at the time of our stay so it was easy to maneuver the gravel interior road and level gravel site. If full, the park would be very, very tight with its side by side hookup arrangement. There are some permanent, older units and a mobile home section as well as a separate tent camping section. Wi-fi was not available away from the office area. We camped at Butch Cassidy RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
