West View RV Park, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

NEW park, just opened in May very nice big sites, with concrete patio and grass at every site. Our dogs loved it. WiFi worked well, as did the cable channels. The office area is all new with a Day Spa. My wife used and gave it very high marks. There is a Happy Hour at the bar and patio area every night, we meet the owner. It was fun and very cheap, half priced beer and wine. Dog area was close to our site and always clean. Still some construction going on now as they are going to expand to over 100 sites, all site 40 x 80 feet. Lots of room for big RV's. We will go back on our next trip. We camped at West View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Day Trip up Dolores Canyon was very pretty and just a good road, had lunch in Rico. Very cute... Trip to 4 corners was disappointing. 5 bucks a head to walk in take pictures, but limit is 3. It is on Native Indian land and the rules are a bit different.

Mountain View RV Resort, Canon City, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, not very big which is fine. Some of the sites are for sale for clients who want to build out and stay a while all good. Slow Wifi frustrating as the office said it should work well. We call ahead and asked for 3 nights which was good, when we checked in we asked if our site was available for two extra nights and they said yes. We made reservation for the Train ride and when back the next day to extent our stay they had rented our site. We could move sites for an upgrade fee, but we would miss our train ride. We payed the upgrade, but will not return. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Mt. Princeton RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Mt. Princeton is under new under ownership and it shows that they are trying to upgrade the park and keep it nice. Our group used the covered patio area and it was very nice with good screens to block the wind. Office staff was friendly and easy to work with when I extended for a few days. WiFi was on and off, seemed to get over loaded and stop, staff would reset it and it would work for a while. I was very surprised when we made our reservation they had a 1 dog per site policy, after a couple of phone calls, they said two were OK. Except when you going in their office, there are two dogs behind the counter. That did not sit well with me, just plain wrong. We camped at Mt. Princeton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ouray KOA, Ouray, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is a better than average KOA. Our space was pretty large full hook ups with grass, picnic table and fire pit. Staff was helpful with all the local attractions. WiFi was pretty sad, even in the early morning hours, it just needs a major upgrade. The Bar-B-Q dinner was a very good deal, go early it is very busy place. There is no off-air TV channels, bring your Satellite dish. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Motorhome.

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Clean park, nice views of Winchester Harbor, good paved walking trail around the park. Our site 113 has nice grass and trees. Asphalt pad level and utilities worked great. Cable and wi-fi worked very well. I tested the Wi-Fi at 15-20 Mbits all day. It was very nice. We would come back. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Kanab RV Corral, Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Under new management and it shows in a very good way. Nice clean park with about 40 sites. The Wi-Fi Internet was Fantastic, I mean real fast and always worked. Several others in our party we doing work and also commented on how well the Wi-Fi worked. Everything worked well and show that the owner cared about the park. All very dog friend with a nice dog park area. On reason it does not get a 10 is the sites are a bit small, and some road noise, but overall a great little park. We camped at Kanab RV Corral in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This park is Excellent, I mean EXCELLENT. The park is very well laid out with large sites, nice trees and grass areas. Park staff were helpful with park info. Laundry and bathrooms were spotless. One of the best features is the internet worked very well with good speed all the time. We had rain and thunder storms, internet still worked well, maybe the best I have had in any park we have stayed. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

West Yellowstone has a city law about no open fires, so there are no fire rings in the park. I think is effect of the big Yellowstone fire years back. Plan ahead for cold nights.

Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 9 nights and got the monthly rate, which was a good deal. We had an issue on check in, someone was in our site and had left it there for a week. The park upgraded our site for the same price, so it was good in the end. They tried hard to make it right. Grounds are clean, bathrooms and pool area was very good also. We use the event center several times, also very nice. They would have got a 10 if the internet had worked, we used our Verizon hot spot, used a lot of our data plan. Internet needs an upgrade. We will back to this park. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cochise Terrace RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park that was clean and the staff was very nice. They are just focused on other issues. First, they want to sell everyone a RV lot in the park, not my style. Second, their pet policy was just over the top bad with all kinds of restrictions. Third, the internet is useless even for e-mail. We need internet for our work and this one just does not work. The park was less than half full, so on a big weekend it would be worse. We will not be returning. We camped at Cochise Terrace RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park), Garberville, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Benbow has changed to a KOA campground, but little has changed. There are many permanent trailers, that look run down. Yes, there is a good golf and a new kids play ground. The Internet is not useable; INTERNET IS IMPORTANT and they just don't get it. Our site was next to a perm trailer and was not well kept. We camped at Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Pismo Sands RV Park, Oceano, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Overall nice park, they just do not get some of the extra's campers are looking for. Our site was level with small grass picnic table and fire pit, all good. We have two dog's and the pet areas were very poor and too small. The internet was to slow and did not work the last day at all. INTERNET IS IMPORTANT!!! An internet password 5th#3N*QP%6 and then it does not work 3 or 4 times in a row. We camped at Pismo Sands RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, one of the nicest parks we have been too in a long time. Big concrete pads, that are well spaced from the next site. Lots of room for walking and biking with the kids. The view of Lake Powell is outstanding, yes the water level is down some but still very nice. Were we there in early spring weather in the 70's, the lake still cold but fun. We liked the back in site vs. the pull-thru area better as we stayed 4 nights. We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Motorhome.

Boat trip on the lake is outstanding, lower Antelope canyon tour is a "Bucket List" item in my opinion. General boating and skiing on the lake is the best.
