Eagles Landing RV Park, Holt, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Park is clean, very well maintained. Zero amenities no shade, and owners are friendly, but pretty disconnected from patrons in our opinion. We called in May explained coming to the area to house shop, didn't know if we would be there 2 months or 2 yrs. We were assured it was not a problem, we had a spot. 2 months after arrival we were told our spot was rented starting in Dec and might wanna look for a place to go, we ended up moving to a previously stayed at RV park near Defuniak. Again OK park, well maintained, just keep any personal belongings off the grass (other than your vehicles which you need to move twice a week for mowing). In 2 months we were there we saw 4 or 5 leave in search of other parks. We won't go back. We camped at Eagles Landing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearest shopping is Crestview, 10 miles away but easy access. Our kids are grown and on their own, but if you have kids they'll get bored quick, and kids don't seem to be overly welcome. It's pretty much a wake up, sit, watch the sky, then go to bed at night park.

Sunset King RV Resort, Defuniak Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, the rate reflects a monthly rate, that's all inclusive, WiFi, Cable, taxes, etc. This is a very nice RV park, we don't care for the pull through s as they are "buddy sites" which is just something we don't prefer but alot do. We had a back in site, there is plenty of room, alot of great people, but this is a type of community RV park. Alot of the folks there are permanent residents, but everything is done very tasteful and looks very nice, alot of activities in the clubhouse from Bingo, to crafts, to donuts and coffee 3 days a week. They have card nights, horseshoe pits, boat rentals, concerts, etc. WiFi was good. Already made reservations for winter of 2013 in same spot we had. We camped at Sunset King RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Lurleen State Park, Coker, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Typical State Park, we had a waterfront site in loop B. Nice site, but as other posters stated the hookups are on the opposite side of RV. We didn't really care for the set up (not what we're used to) you pull in and the road for other sites is directly alongside your site, so any RV coming in (at least in Loop A and B) they drive right by your slides. Little unnerving for us. Other sites in C and D were back in, but some are water electric only. We had some electric issues our last 2 days there, our surge protector keep flashing "CAUTION LOW VOLTAGE". Needs to be updated, but typical of a State facility in this day and age. Would we stay here again? Only if we had to while passing through. The rate reflects a weekly rate in off season. We camped at Lake Lurleen State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fisherman's Cove RV Resort, Palmetto, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice enough RV park, typical snowbird park. Sites are tight, the back in's in the center are literally back to back RV's. The pool and hot tub were operational, clean, and nice. The game room was seldom if ever used while we were there, 2 free pool tables, and a ping pong table. We didn't take in the breakfast meals, or other things they had, but heard good reviews. This is mostly a snowbird location, has nice older large trees and shade, electric/water/sewage was not a problem all worked well. Very good restaurant within walking distance (just watch the traffic while crossing). The rate reflects a monthly rate, would definitely stay here again. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Avalon Landing RV Park, Milton, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The rate paid reflects a monthly rate and is approximate. Only drawback to this park is it's right on a main highway, but it's easy access to I-10, traffic noise is minimal, and it's right on Blackwater Bay. We had a water front site where we could stand at the back of our 5er and cast into the water. The park is in the process of adding additional sites on the other side of the bay inlet.

They are concrete pads, and the road was blacktopped the day before we left. It should be open with new and additional sites within a month or less. For our 40 ft RV, the site we had was pretty much maxed out on the length, (the new sites will solve that issue). The owners/managers are extremely friendly and helpful, TV over the air was good, and satellite reception was easy with no over head trees or obstructions. They do have LP but most RVers fill at a nearby location due to price. Water, electric, and sewer hookups were excellent. Only reason I didn't give them a 10 was due solely to length of the older sites. Again, that will be solved when the new section opens in a couple weeks or less. Great RV park and well deserving of a 10 once the new larger section opens. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Avalon Landing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clinton / Knoxville North KOA, Clinton, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a decent park; we used it as a one night stop on our way back north. It's very convenient and easy on/off I-75. The staff was extremely friendly and escorted us to our site and helped us in. It seemed a little tight in the overnight pull-through sites, but there was plenty of room. It's all gravel and the sites are within reason for level, we didn't have to unhook but we were "border to border" front and back. The price reflects a Good Sam discount. We didn't use the shower rooms and the pool was covered for the season. There seems to be a lot of longer term or worker RV's there, but it's clean, well maintained. We would/will definitely stop again. We camped at Clinton / Knoxville North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Wanee Lake Golf and RV Resort, Ashburn, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

There is plenty of space between the sites, some fairly level, some pretty bad; you have to look well before you pick and set up. The power, when we hooked up our Surge Protector, said it was ok, but when the AC kicked on it tripped out (1st time this ever happened). When reset, everything came on fine, then when the wife started the sweeper it tripped again. When she turned on the microwave the AC was off, but again it tripped. Something is up with the electric. Shower house (only one we saw was at the clubhouse) a simple stall, pretty basic, clean but run down. Pool looked very nice. Owners were very courteous and helpful, and in fairness to them they apparently acquired this about 4 yrs ago and are in the process of updating, landscaping, and wanting to put in cement pads. Until those upgrades happen, I probably would not stay here again. We camped at Wanee Lake Golf and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Seminole Campground and RV Park, North Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is an absolute gem, beautifully maintained, very nice laundry facilities with plenty of up to date washers and dryers. The rec room is small but nice, pool table (free), weight exercise equipment, nicely maintained pool. The only down side so far (we just arrived), but many of the sites are freshly graveled. When we arrived we got a tour of which sites were available (the sites are long), BUT the weight of our triple axle created a pretty good rut in the fresh gravel pad, and the linx levelers mashed into the rock pretty bad, had to add more (not a huge problem and will correct with time). The sites are long, space between them, electric is great, as is water and new sewer hookups, Wi-Fi more than adequate, not sure when the park if full. Other down side is the shower house is immaculate, BUT still under construction. Currently there is one shower bath facility marked women/men. Iit has 2 stalls and showers; if you want privacy lock the door. If not, you might find yourself in a coed shower room, BUT 4 new individual bathrooms are built and being tiled at this time. The shower/bath is immaculate, all tile top to bottom throughout, with ceiling fans, and good exhaust. One stall contains a shower AND rain shower overhead, very very nice facility. Managers and workers are beyond friendly and helpful, park is beautifully maintained, this one is a winner from start to finish. Would definitely return or even make this a winter home for months. The rate reflects an off season monthly rate. We camped at Seminole Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Casey Jones RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is an easy on off I-75 but call the park for directions as someone else said it can be a little tricky as 2 roads take you there; you actually want the 2nd road (at the light). This is a nice park, all grass sites, but generally very level. Water good as was the electric. Bathrooms are very clean but pretty basic, one sink, one shower stall (with partial bar type door), same with commode, older and dated interior, BUT again very clean and well maintained. The people in the office were above and beyond friendly and helpful, really great people. It's mowed, and well maintained. Rate reflects Good Sam discount plus tax. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Casey Jones RV Park in a Motorhome.

Montgomery South RV Park, Hope Hull, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a no frills RV park, the manager/owner was very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi worked great as we were close to the Office. Sites were level, water and sewer good, but it's a no frills park. There were some long term (probably workers) there that a few of the RV's needed some sprucing up, but great location for an overnight. Overall a good stopping point or brief hold over. We stayed 3 days due to evacuation from Isaac. We camped at Montgomery South RV Park in a Motorhome.

Texas T Campground, Cornersville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great little park, easy access to I-65 and we've made it a mainstay for our several trips from Indiana to the panhandle of Florida. The sites have space, a picnic table, and are very level with plenty of room; no unhooking necessary. The power and water is excellent. There is a large area along a small creek and adjoining mowed area for the pets to run. It's adjacent to I-65 but road noise is nonexistent as it sits lower than the interstate with plenty of green space to separate the two. We stop here frequently and will continue to do so. The rate reflects the Good Sam Discount. We camped at Texas T Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Shady Acres Campground, Mobile, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Our rate reflects a monthly rate, as we were there for a month long job. This is an older park, probably an ex mobile home park but the electric was great, sewer hook ups and water excellent. Wi-Fi worked great everywhere in the park (we stayed in 2 different areas of the park). A lot of long term RV's there, the overnight pull-throughs were up front near the office. The people there are very friendly as is the owner. Word of CAUTION. When getting off the interstate and down the road to the park, be very aware of the limbs on the road, there are some low hangers. With our 13'3" 5th wheel we had to get in the opposing lane to clear them. We would definitely return. We camped at Shady Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Galveston Bay RV Resort & Marina, Dickinson, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The rate above reflects the weekly rate. This is a little oasis of a park. Very quiet, clean and well maintained. Clean neat pool, restrooms are currently being remodeled, the vinyl flooring is being replaced with tile, nice laundry, meeting room with free pool table, fishing is great right off the bank. The down side is make sure you call ahead sites are hard to come by, several long term there and take up most of the waterfront sites, but they're RV's are clean and well kept up, but limits incomers that stay for a week or two strictly to the inside mainland sites. Sites are all concrete, with concrete roads, very level. Once you visit this park you'll understand why it's hard to get a site, we didn't want to leave. Definitely will return. We camped at Galveston Bay RV Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Marina Bay RV Resort, Kemah, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflected is a monthly rate for 3 people. This is a very clean RV park and convenient location. Easy to get to the Kemah Boardwalk (we actually walked it), if you like crayfish and live bands, at the entrance of the park is a restaurant/lounge with live bands and good food. The restrooms are pristine to say the least, individual doors/showers/etc. The WiFi is poor at best, seldom could get hooked up ended up using our own internet. The sites are very close together but roads are easy to navigate and there is plenty of room for an RV and 1 vehicle, if you have more it's going to be tough. They have a pitch in type dinner with wine every Tues, they supply the main dish, very good, definitely attend if your there. We camped at Marina Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, clean, easy access on and off I-10, managers were more than helpful and friendly, great people that know what they're doing. Only down side is personally we felt it was a little pricey considering the area. The rate we show was with the Good Sam discount, definitely would stay again if passing through the area. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
