Tallahassee East Campground , Monticello, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Site are level and office help friendly. That's about it. No Wi-Fi at your site. No cable. Roads are dusty. Way overpriced even for a KOA for what you get. Don't let the 2 mile drive fool you. You end up right next to I-10 and all the road noise. Sites are not taken care of at all. Weeds over 2 feet tall abound. We are on our way home and it was convenient. Will stay someplace else next time even thought it's just for one night. Why don't campground owners understand that Wi-Fi at your site is important? Having it in the office is very inconvenient. In addition to lugging our computer up there, we would also have to bring our printer, road atlas, huge campground book, etc. that we use for investigating various areas. We feel there should be a different designation for Wi-Fi available at your site vs. in the office or overheated laundry room. This should not be a KOA or else they should lower their prices significantly. We camped at Tallahassee East Campground in a Motorhome.

Birmingham South Campground, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Interior roads have many pot holes. Sites had trees branches that needed to be trimmed and rubbed on the RV all night. Worker stated Wi-Fi wasn't available in the campground as a storm took it out a while back and it hadn't been repaired. This was a KOA approximately 9 years ago. It has a feeling of disrepair. Minimal cable TV. Sites were not level. Very expensive for the poor quality and low level of services. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Motorhome.

Caboose Lake Campground, Remington, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The road noise from I-65 was horrendous as the park is right next to it. Owner stated W-iFi didn't reach the area we were at which is always frustrating. Why not put in a repeater? This area also had side-by-side hookups which were very, very close. For people who were using this as a destination, seasonal campground, the sites were much better. There is a pay for fishing lake with swimming allowed, although we didn't use it. Internal roads good, sites gravel and level. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground, Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Wi-Fi & cable TVgood. Site was a bit narrow. Owner friendly and appears to keep the park in good condition. Some highway noise from I-65. Excellent laundry facilities - very clean, 4 washer and 4 dryers that all worked. Even though the sites looked decent, they were putting down additional gravel on many of the sites. Lots of shade trees. We camped at Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground in a Motorhome.

Western Kentucky RV Park, Central City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

WiFi & cable TV good. Interior roads somewhat rough as they just had a downpour which caused gravel to wash away. Bathrooms are spotless. Some road noise from Western KY Parkway. Owner very helpful. Another camper sprung a water leak and he was advised where to get parts early a.m. and all fixed quickly. Another camper had his ribs all set to grill and his grill wouldn't start, so the owner hauled his personal grill over to their site. Very accommodating. We camped at Western Kentucky RV Park in a Motorhome.

Woodchip Campground, Byron Center, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Level sites. Interior roads decent. Full hook-up sites extremely narrow and short. (And, we only have a 33' motorhome.) Wi-Fi works very well. No cable and trees cause spotty satellite reception. Many late arrivals (1:00 a.m., 2:30 a.m.) and people working on their RV's after dark, caused this to not be a restful stay, especially since the sites were so close. While the area has many interesting places to explore, we will find another campground for our next visit. We camped at Woodchip Campground in a Motorhome.

Timber Ridge Campground & Recreation Resort, Traverse City, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Interior road conditions were poor. Wi-Fi was poor. Laundry room was dirty with only 2 washers (of a total of 3) working for a campground with this many sites? One bathroom of the two was closed while we were here. The bathroom that was open, two toilets out of three worked in the Men. The handicap toilet was out of order. Two young ladies in the office were great when inquiring about local events, roads, etc. Our check-in lady though was coldly efficient bordering on rude. Rules of the park were not followed for quiet time, clothes lines, etc. Stray dogs would leave 'treasures' on your site. They have hiking trails, but no maps with lengths of trails, difficulty, etc. Very disappointed in this campground. The price was ridiculous considering all of the above. We camped at Timber Ridge Campground & Recreation Resort in a Motorhome.

Munising Tourist Park Campground, Munising, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I think your opinion of this campground would depend on which site you are assigned. We were fortunate to be in a full hook-up site, overlooking the lake. This site would be pictured on RV sales brochures. Sites level. Interior roads good. No laundry facility. Decent Wi-Fi. No cable. Local TV two stations. Satellite coverage dependent on site location due to trees. Men's bathroom had motion sensor lights which was a slight issue if you took a few minutes to complete your transaction as they could not be activated while sitting in a stall. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

River Road RV Park , Ontonagon, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Very open campground. Wide, long, level sites. Good cable and Wi-Fi. Managers very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Very quiet. Did not do laundry here, so cannot comment on the facilities. An ideal location to visit the Porcupine Mountains and the Kewaunaw Penisula. The campground looks rustic but is a great place for an extended visit to visit local sites. We camped at River Road RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sherwood Forest Campground, Gilbert, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Very pleasant, quiet campground. Most sites level and spacious. Walk down the hill to the lake with a swimming beach. Easy walk to town to Koshar's (a variety of homemade sausages!), post office, restaurant, & liquor store at the end of town. Wi-Fi is intermittent. No laundry facilities. Host is accommodating and informative about the area. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sherwood Forest Campground in a Motorhome.

Forrest W. "Bo" Wood COE, Sullivan, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Used our Golden Age Pass so the rate was half the regular rate. This park is incredible. Had a full hook-up, level site with trees and picnic table. The sites are long and wide, so a camper, boat, and two vehicles would fit easily. Have paid many, many more dollars for places that do not even come close to this park. We camped at Forrest W. "Bo" Wood COE in a Motorhome.

Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Only thing keeping this from being a 10 is no black water sewer dumping at any site. There were grey water drains in various areas, which was a plus. The west rim campgrpimd had plenty of shade for the hot weather. The sites were wide and nicely laid out. Campground hosts were helpful and friendly. Due to the somewhat remoteness of the campground, would recommend staying quite a few nights. It's worth it!! We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Owners friendly and helpful. Had a hydraulic issue and he referred us to someone who came out to the site on Sunday! Sites were not very level. Ants were everywhere, so ant powder needed. The bathrooms were clean, but somewhat dated. We camped at River Park RV Park in a Motorhome.
