This was a LARGE operation with many different sites and camping options - seasonals, trailers, tents. It was initially hard to get around (we got lost) because of all the winding roads! We chose to camp here because of the nice location on the river and the on-site marina. Both the campground and marina staff were very helpful. Bathrooms were clean and the showers hot, but water pressure was VERY low. Also, the ladies room could have used some extra counter space for primping of hair and makeup. Sites run small. There are plenty of trees for shade and added privacy between sites. Lastly, this was one of the nicest, quietest campgrounds after midnight that I've ever been in. I believe security and a sheriff make rounds at night, which is good in a campground this big. We camped in a Tent.

Timber Trails, Decatur, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2004 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice place, without many useless amenities at a good price (in 2004). The staff was friendly and accommodating when we had to leave early due to an illness in our family. Beach was small but clean, and the water was amazingly clear for an inland lake. Bathrooms were clean and nicely appointed. Showers were a quarter for 10 minutes of use, but were hot with good water pressure. PLENTY of counter space and mirrors in the ladies' room for toiletries and putting on makeup. I would have preferred some shade in the tenting area - it was out in the open. We would come back again. We camped at Timber Trails in a Tent.
