My wife and I made reservations for a 7-day stay and loved this campground so much that we extended our stay for almost two weeks. The campground is well designed to accommodate both horses and campers. Our motorhome is 40-foot and could easily fit in almost all the camping sites. The host and hostess (owners) are the best we have met in our travels. They are quick to see to your needs. They are hard working folks with that downhome hospitality. This campground gets my highest recommendation, especially if you are traveling in the South Dakota Black HIlls and surrounding states. If you are going to be staying at Broken Arrow in the month of May as we did, be prepared for all four weather seasons. In our two week stay, we had great sun shiny spring/summer days on arrival, followed by hail storms and 8 inches of snow for some fall/winter weather conditions. Then back to sun shiny days that ended our perfect stay. The campground's well designed terrain easily handled all the 'wet' changes in weather allowing us full use of the campground and outside travels to Mt Rushmore and Deadwood and other tourist sites. I'm a passport member and I didn't keep a receipt for cost of our stay. I'm guessing it averaged $19 a night. Also, the owners have already added more sites pushing well beyond the 36 sites listed for this review. And they are adding more in the future.

Great RV Campground Park location, especially if you want to explore Cody and surrounding areas. This campground is family owned and it shows pride of ownership. The sites are wide and level and the hookups are easily accessable. The check-in office has a store and extensive gift shop. This was our second time staying here. Ponderosa Campground gets my highest recommendation.
