Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2005 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We are easy to please and over many days this was the only CG in AZ/NM we were not pleased with. First, the good is that there are some nice views and the staff initially nice. Pleasant smell with small juniper trees throughout. Unfortunately, very uneven sites and on this I wish we had heeded some previous reviews. The "pool" is very small and the "movie" theatre is just a small TV set up in front of a few chairs. Staff nice at first but not responsive about poor restroom condition. We moved on after one night to the KOA up the road and found it much more satisfactory in every way (including price!). We camped at Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground in a Tent.

Santa Fe KOA, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We moved here after finding a campground (a mile or 2 down the same road unacceptable and had a terrific stay here. Staff incredibly helpful. Sites have many trees but are typically the short junipers found in this area. We had a "roomy" site. Convenient to Santa Fe (15 min) and to Pecos National Forest (15 min). We camped here in 2005 as part of a long trip and it was one of our nicest places. Would go back if in area. We camped at Santa Fe KOA in a Tent.

Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area, Show Low, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Outstanding in every way. Very clean and private restrooms with private showers. Even sites with great views, many on Lakefront. Nice fishing and canoeing and beautiful trails. Very quiet. Probably the best site on our long AZ/NM trip. We camped at Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area in a Tent.
