Mount Pocono Campground, Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 days in site HH20 which was very level. It's a great end unit facing the woods. Deer came out one night to eat. The entire stay the CG was so quiet and relaxing! The camp store is nicely stocked and fairly priced. Everyone was so nice and we met several very nice seasonals. Mount Airy casino is about 3 miles away and Mohegan Sun is only about 30 miles away. We went to both and they were nice as well. We had 80 cable channels and wifi was fine. AT&T service was not an issue.

I have nothing negative to say, we will definitely be back again next year. The owners live on site and will take no crap from unruly people which is nice to know!

This is important! When you get to the town of Mount Pocono and the weird intersection make sure you are in the MIDDLE lane. There are three lanes , two left turn lanes and one right turn lane. You must be in the middle lane! You'll see what I'm talking about when you come up to that intersection.

Enjoy your stay and remember "It beats staying home" We camped at Mount Pocono Campground in a Travel Trailer.

New York City North / Newburgh KOA, Plattekill, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 days in site 114 and it was perfect. Very level and across from the bathroom. Site was so shady you really didn't need your awning. In the mornings water pressure was bad but as the day progressed it went back to normal. WiFi was marginal and TV was fine. I was able to watch and enjoy the Olympics.

Campground is definitely geared towards the children. Lots for them to do and you could hear them the entire time :) Way too many dogs barking, though. A big deal is made about dogs barking but management does nothing to uphold their rules about it.

All of the amenities were good and the pool was refreshing. Store was good and well stock.

Yes camping fee is pricey but we all continue to pay it myself included.

We were in town for a family reunion and will definitely stay here again next year. We camped at New York City North / Newburgh KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sun Valley Campground, Bowmansville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We had a very nice time at Sun Valley. We had no issues. Everyone in the office was very nice. Yes, there are a lot of seasonals but all were very nice. If I have to complain about something it is the size of the rocks in the roadways. Definitely tough on the feet while walking but we all managed.

Enjoy your stay and remember "it beats staying home." We camped at Sun Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We had two sites one for our setup and the other for our son and his family. We were all in travel trailers. This was our first time at this CG and everything went well. We will definitely be back in the fall when it's not over 100 degrees! The view of the mountains will be beautiful at that time as well. For being as full as it was, everything quieted down nicely at night.

This is important when you go to this CG. If your coming from the Allentown direction on rt78 do NOT get off at any exit but for rt 81 north. I followed my gps and got off at exit 13 rt 501. Wow, did we go for a ride. I have a 29' TT and I tow it with a 2011 Chevy dually and she was even struggling up and down the hills. Totally unnecessary wear and tear on my rig. If you just get off at the 81 north exit, then go about a mile or so and get off the exit for 72 north you'll be fine. CG is only a few miles once off 81.

Enjoy your stay and remember "It beats staying home." We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

Turtle Run Campground, Egg Harbor City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

My son and I stayed here for our shake down run for the start of our 09 camping season. We were pleasantly surprised by this campground. As in previous posts the owners and seasonals were extremely friendly. All open facilities were always clean. Wi-Fi worked fantastic even from inside my motorhome. We were in spot 105. If I have to say anything negative, it would be to trim some of the trees/bushes near the road so they don't rub along the top and sides of your rig. Again we enjoyed our stay! Remember "IT BEATS STAYING HOME". We camped at Turtle Run Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Whaley Family Campground, Whaleyville, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We just got back from spending 5 days at this CG. We stayed in site J25. It was nice and level. We would have liked a little more room between spaces, but all in all it was fine. Bathrooms/showers were always clean. We were shocked on how quiet it got after dark. Even on a holiday weekend, and the CG was full. I really have no complaints. The wifi worked great with at least 4 bars of signal inside our MH. I forget how much we paid so the $45 is probably wrong. If you like to party, and the hooting and holloring, then don't come to Fort Whaley. We camped at Fort Whaley Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Lums Pond State Park, Bear, Delaware

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this CG for 2 nights. We were their for Warbirds over DE. The CG is a lot nicer than I had imagined. I was in site 4 on Friday and 16 on Saturday. Site 4 had W/E/S, electric was 50 amps. I had just 50 amp electric in site 16. I will stay here again next year. It was perfect for what I used it for. It is very difficult to get a reservation so call early. We camped at Lums Pond State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Raystown Resort & Lodge, Entriken, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We just got back from a 10 day stay at this CG. Overall it was nice. We were in site 113 (which is one of the 5 pull-throughs they have). The site does have 50 amps. The draw back is this site is way too small for a 36' MH. It is a pop-up or tent site at best! There is a very steep drop off where you'd park your unit. My front bumper was as high as my chest and I'm 6' tall! There are 2 other pull-throughs in that area and mine was the best. We did have a nice view of the lake. The bathrooms were always clean! I even saw the cleaning crew at the bathrooms at 11pm! We will definitely stay here next year but of course in a different area. There is a pool at the water park. The pool is free when the water park is closed. You can also swim at the beach area by the lake. Have Fun! We camped at Lake Raystown Resort & Lodge in a Motorhome.

Keen Lake Camping & Cottage Resort, Waymart, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We just got back from a nice time at this CG. We've been here several times; it is still fun. We have a 36' motorhome, and it is still a tough place to get around. Just take your time, and have spotters help you. The only drawback I have is that they charge you for A/C use, children, and $6.00 to launch a boat. We had a 9' kayak! The bathrooms were good, and the showers are pay showers. All in all still a fun and quiet place. Remember the staff is strictly business so don't try and chit chat. You're not there for them anyway. We camped at Keen Lake Camping & Cottage Resort in a Motorhome.

We're back from another great time at this CG. We always stay back in the 500 section as it is much quieter. We rarely saw our son (14)as this CG has sooo many activities for kids of all ages. We will definitely return next year. Big rigs are no problem. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

We just returned from an outstanding stay at this CG. This was our 1st time at this CG. We wish we came sooner. The owners were great. Always asking if we were ok, having a good time, etc.. CG was very full for Mothers day weekend and very quite even before quiet hours. The camping rate is very good and they offer several discounts, (Good sam, etc..). We were in site C and had plenty of room for our 36' MH and toad. Will return again soon. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Just got back from another great time at this CG. We haven't had a bad time yet. It was very cold while there but still had fun. Indoor pool and hot tub were great! Bathrooms and showers were clean and heated. We had a towed car so their is plenty to do within a 15 mile radius. We were in site LF15. I pulled in our RV so you had a great view of the lake out the front windshield. The normal way is to back in but, water wasn't on so it didn't matter. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort, Narvon, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We love camping here but, this time we had a very unlevel site. We were in #206 and it is too small for a 36' MH. The front wheel were 10" off the ground. I had a 6 high stack of those yellow blocks under the front tires. I had a 4 high stack under each front jack and we still weren't level. That site is a GREAT site, just not for that size MH. Everything else was perfect. We will definitely stay again. Just ask about levelness when calling. I also heard that the CG will supply you with leveling boards. They actually bring them to your CG. I found out too late or I would have taken that offer. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Watkins Glen / Corning KOA, Watkins Glen, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here over Labor Day and had a great time. I love coming to a CG and seeing positive changes. Upon talking to the owner, next year we'll see even more. The only items I'd like to see remedied is clothes hooks in the changing room @ the pool and some sort of fence by basketball court to keep ball from going into trees or going down hill hitting the campers. We will be back next year. They are big rig friendly. We had a 36' MH +toad and had no problems. We camped at Watkins Glen / Corning KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. We were 3 sites from the lake in site 12. Yes there is no sewer and yes the water park w/pool is $14. We stayed the week prior at a Gettysburg CG for $53. With that we got a crowed small pool and a noisy highway. There too you have to pay extra for the "water park". To us this is a great deal and will be back with friends next year. Follow the directions on their web site. We followed our GPS from NJ and had one 1 1/2 mile 9% and a 3 mile 10% winding downhill. Amongst several winding uphills. Not fun. There is at least 1 pull thru that I saw. This CG is big rig friendly. We had a 36' MH + toad and had no problems. We camped at Lake Raystown Resort & Lodge in a Motorhome.
