Asheville East KOA, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice setting by river and nice landscaping and trees. 50 amp sites are partial to no shade. We stayed in back in 50 amp and had to park toad at angle in front of motorhome but was doable. We stayed a week and it was a nice base camp for touring area. Very family oriented. Charge extra $2.50 a night for 50 amp. We camped at Asheville East KOA in a Motorhome.

Large campground with playground and for a daily fee includes resort facilities next door which we didn't use. Good base camp to tour area. Sites are close to each other but reasonable space. Open field camping so good satellite and Verizon reception. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Welikit Family Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is nestled in tall pine trees which made it a little tough to maneuver our 40' motorhome. Tow vehicles have to be unhooked at registration. No satellite reception but good Verizon signal. Laundry facilities were clean and reasonable priced. Restrooms/showers are family style. Good location for touring area. We camped at Fort Welikit Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Wanderlust RV Park, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice friendly staff, good location for seeing Eureka Springs attractions with city trolley stop in campground. Only drawback is sites are very close together if park is full or during peak season. Only a picnic table separating RVs. Location is on top of hill with breeze and shade trees. Check with park for directions as GPS will take you through narrow streets that are impassable for big rigs if coming from north on Hwy 23. We camped at Wanderlust RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pecan Grove RV Park, Lake Village, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. Easy in and out. Next to Hwy 65. We used this for an overnight stay while traveling and was very convenient. Sites are mostly pull-through on grassy surface. No trouble leveling on dry ground and site long enough not have to unhook toad. Friendly staff. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Downstream Campground COE, Riverdale, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is located below the dam so not near water but the scenery and wildlife is beautiful. Loops 2 and 3 are big rig friendly. Loop 1 is tight. Nicely spaced sites but check for distance to water hookups if staying more than a few days. We camped at Downstream Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, Mandan, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park located outside of the Mandan/Bismark area. A nature oasis with lots of trees, wildlife, and river. Plenty of room between sites. Great location to tour the area and come home to a nature setting. First loop is big rig friendly, second loop is a bit tight. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Watchman Campground (NPS Campground), Zion National Park, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground, we had a pull through near river. The only downside is arriving from the East, thru the tunnel, we had to remove tow car to get through switchbacks. We took alternate route to the West on departure. There are no water hookups but you can fill rig at dump station at entrance. We stayed three nights. You can walk to Visitors Center, Springdale town from campground. Ranger talks were informative and fun. Verizon Mi-Fi worked great. Favorite campground and National Park on our two week trip through Utah. We camped at Watchman Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.
