Genesee Country Campground, Caledonia, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Campground has some nice features. The mowed walking path was excellent for our dogs to get a break and some exercise. Although many of the units are long term, it was very quiet and we didn't see many people out. Convenient to interstate and staff very friendly. The negatives are the camper and picnic table graveyard at the back of the campground and some of the long term sites needed trimming up. We were not here on a race night. We would stop in again. We camped at Genesee Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Mohican State Park, Loudonville, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Typical of a state park with grassy and dirt sites, fairly level. Surprisingly quiet for a holiday week and fairly full. We only did an overnight while passing through. It was quite a distance off interstate so not convenient for one night. Staff was extra nice. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Mountain RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This park was perfect to explore the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area. The trolley stop was just across the low traffic street and was easy and inexpensive to navigate so we did not need to rent a car. Bathrooms were immaculate. Sites were concrete and level. We were in site 47 by the creek. We will definitely be back. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

River Country Campground, Gadsden, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for one night on our trip back home. This is a super nice campground on a peninsula that extends into the river. We were off season so there were lots of open slots. Unfortunately, it poured rain so we couldn't walk the trail along the river or even hardly leave our motorhome, but with the landscape and trees, we bet it is beautiful when foliage comes out. With the thunderstorm, we asked about a storm shelter and they do have one. It was an easy in and out and nice enough to stay a few days. Staff folks were very friendly and helpful. We would stop again. We camped at River Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Albany RV Resort, Albany, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Our rating for this park is based on an overnight stay while traveling through. We likely would not come here for an extended stay, but had everything we needed for a comfortable overnight. Park is very quiet. Sites are level and have concrete pads. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was easy to find coming from the south and easy to navigate. It appears some may be long term residents but all units were neat. No complaints. We stopped early in afternoon and just enjoyed the shade trees and relaxing. Cooked on site, no eating places nearby and we don't tow. We would stop again. We camped at Albany RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Williston Crossings RV Resort, Williston, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We only spent one night traveling through the area but this campground is impressive. Very very clean and all units and grounds were neat and manicured. It is a retirement type community and the activities list made me want to hang around. The park is down a residential street and kind of a surprise once you go through the gate. We would no doubt come back here and even though in a small town, the campground activities and relaxing atmosphere are enough to keep us busy. Ask for a site in the section that has concrete lots. Wifi does not work. We reported but still didn't help. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We walked out and ate at Bubbacue. It was an older building but both the brisket and pulled pork were some of the best we have eaten. It was sliced fresh and was tender and flavorful. We brought back a pound to our camper for later.

Red Coconut RV Resort, Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

This is a difficult park to rate. It is the location that we come for because the dog friendly beach is just what we enjoy in the off season. We try to stay beach side, even at the premium price because you walk out your door to the beauty. The park is old and could use updates but with its occupancy rate, I'm sure the owners see no need for repairs. Spots are very tight and I would not come in after dark, very likely to damage our vehicle. I keep an eye out when neighbors are moving in or out. We loved walking our dogs on the beach and it seems folks obey leash laws. They do require proof of vaccinations and there is a pet surcharge. Be sure to ask for discounts, they won't offer and you need proof. Office staff not friendly...too bad because campers are good guys. It is like they are looking for a reason not to give you the site even though reserved. When asked about pets, I said I have a couple of small dogs and the reply was "how many is a couple?"! We opted to eat in and just enjoy the beach time but a few restaurants are in walking distance, most further. There is road construction and road noise. We will come back..for the beach and view. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Neat and clean campground. Stayed 2 days. Nice pool. Washers and dryers outside. Very quiet. Good place go walk dogs. Small fenced dog run. We drove to Cedar Key to visit the shops and eat lunch. Very old Florida. If driving a motorhome, plan ahead for parking. Best to go mid morning before it becomes crowded. Excellent campground for older folks like us, prob not for families with children. We would return. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We were only able to get reservations for one night although we saw lots of vacant sites. Enjoyed the history of the park and the campground was nice. We didn't have bikes nor have time to ride, but definitely will have them next time we come. We stopped at the store for ice cream. Wifi was only available at the store. ATT phone service only enough for texting. Verizon ok. Sites very private and bathrooms spaced in each section of 10 campsites. We parked in dog area. We will definitely come again. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Motorhome.

Carrabelle Beach RV Resort, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed this campground. It was a little tight to maneuver but our site was a drivethru and had plenty of parking room with a swing and picnic table. Landscaping was nice and everything was very neat. For $10 you can wash your motorhome, and we did. Small fenced dog park but sufficient. Across Hwy 98 to beach and during our visit, there were very few people. Beach is dog friendly which is a huge plus for us. Laundry takes credit cards which is helpful. Quiet little town, grocery 2 miles. Pool area was nice and large screened porch adjacent to laundry for visiting while waiting. Office staff friendly. We would definitely come back here. We camped at Carrabelle Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Live Oak Landing, Freeport, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed this campground. The setting was along the inlet with beautiful moss hanging from the trees. The campground is very convenient to drive to the beaches at Grayton State Park or Destin or shopping at the Outlet Mall. Campground is out of the way and very quiet. All campsites were clean with nice units. The showerhouse was exceptionally clean with washers and dryers on the outside patio. We did not use screened pool. Very Katy dog run area. We marked this campground for return visits for a longer stay. Note--very difficult to get reservations by phone and online did not work for me. Keep calling, worth the trouble. We camped at Live Oak Landing in a Motorhome.

We drove 30 minutes out to Sandestin to eat but parking was difficult so we ate closer to the campground. We felt we wasted our day searching for a parking place in the congestion and wouldn't do that again.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is our stop off point any time we head from Kentucky toward Atlanta. Nice fenced dog run. Clean facilities and neat. Full time campers very neat and hard to distinguish in most cases. Dollar Store convenient across the street. Easy drive to Lookout Mtn. During rain season, best to request a site in front of park. Some of the back sites have drainage problems in hard rain. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Capital City RV Park, Montgomery, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We did a one night stopover, and enjoyed this park. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Quiet. Sites are extra large with concrete patios. The dog run area was huge and clean. My dogs loved playing frisbee. Bathrooms were privete. The owners were very helpful. We were here in the off season but park was mostly full. I bet it is even nicer when the crepe myrtles are in bloom. The trailers that might have been workers were neat and only noticeable by seeing folks in scrubs and some pickups with signage, unlike some campgrounds where the full timers make themselves a little too much at home and bring their mess. We will definitely stop here again. We camped at Capital City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Whispering Oaks Campground, Manchester, Tennessee

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It all depends on your situation regarding this campground. We needed an overnight to rest and have no children so this was a quiet place near our path. Host was nice, easy in and out. There were several full timers, it seemed. A few sites messy but the rest typical of folks staying near their job. We saw campers, but few people. Park has a ton of potential with some tweaking. This area is one we pass through often so we will likely stop again. We camped at Whispering Oaks Campground in a Motorhome.
