Tall Texan Campground, Gunnison, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with cottonwood trees for shade. Lots are very close but quiet. Has propane gas for sale. Concrete patio, but the site wasn't very level. Not a real problem though. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Waters Edge RV Park & Pizzaria (formerly Josephine's RV Park), North Fork, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A small campground on a babbling stream that offers very clean bathrooms and showers, wonderful hospitality, large level sites with full hookups, internet, tent sites and a bunkhouse. The hospitality was first rate and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. There is also food and music in the restaurant on weekends. The rates are extremely reasonable. We camped at Waters Edge RV Park & Pizzaria (formerly Josephine's RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

ACT Campground & Environmental Learning Center, Moab, Utah

Overall Rating:

Exceptional facility, Never seen such great facilities from bathrooms, showers, kitchen, lounge/library and a great laundry. Superb hospitality as well. Convenient to anyplace in Moab or surrounding area. Fire ring in the patio area. New campground but trees have been planted and it will only get better. We camped at ACT Campground & Environmental Learning Center in a Travel Trailer.

Thousand Acres Family Campground, Franklin, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This campground did have a security gate but it seemed to be more of a trailer park than a campground. We camped in the field near the pool. There were not many people in that part of the park. It was quiet except for the noise of traffic on the highway behind us. The noise was not bad but for a "thousand acres" I expected to be away from the highway far enough not to hear it. The bathrooms were a long way away from our site so we did not use them. We did walk around the campground and were struck by the very large number of sites that appeared to be seasonal. Some appeared to have been there a very long time. A large dog tied outside of one unoccupied camper barked constantly and could be heard quite a distance away. While our stay was only overnight it was not bad. The site we had was grassy and did not appear to have a solid base that might make it muddy if the weather was wet. I would not look to this campground for a multi- night stay. Other than a very nice pool, there did not appear to be much for kids. We camped at Thousand Acres Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Barber Homestead Park, Westport, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was very quiet. The bathrooms and showers were exceptional - clean and plenty of water pressure (town water). We had a pull through site in the lower part of the campground. There were quite a few open sites. Phone coverage was spotty but the phone in the rec hall could be used with a calling card. Tent people would like this campground (if it rains) due to the large covered area with picnic tables and the recreation area is available for use. Management was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Barber Homestead Park in a Motorhome.

Gray Homestead Oceanfront Camping, Southport, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A small campground with a few ocean front sites, some ocean view sites and other sites that were shaded in the woods. Nice quiet campground. We stayed two nights. There is a laundry although we did not visit it. You can get a taxi to town for $10 which is cheaper than parking in Boothbay Harbor. You can order lobsters in the campground and they will cook them for you. I would return. We camped at Gray Homestead Oceanfront Camping in a Motorhome.
