A good stop over. It has concrete pads and hook ups on either side. We were disappointed in the 50 amp as we were here in the middle of summer and could only run one a/c. Even then our meter was running in the red. Road noise is ever present due to being on the interstate and a major intersection. The cable TV worked, but the Wi-Fi was only so so.

Salina KOA

Salina, Kansas

Date of Stay:

This KOA is a good overnight place to park overnight. It is right off I-70 so there is some road noise. The roads and sites are gravel, but fairly level. It does have a small pond with catfish and bass in it to fish also. When passing through we would stay here again.

Like a pilot, this is a good place for "touch & go landings". It is by the interstate (but little traffic noise). It has good, long, level, gravel sites. You can walk to cafe after landing and playing miniature golf on-site. Wi-fi works well as does the cable and 50 amp. It's not an area you would want to spend your summer vacation, but for utility, price and passing through; it fits the bill. It does get very windy due to being in an open area. It is good for the satellite crowd, as there are no trees.

We would "shop around" before staying here again. The park roads are thin; hanging branches will hit tops of high RV's; and a check-in time of 2:00 will be a problem for some. There are showers, but most will need to drive to them. There were a few mosquito's, no cell, no antenna TV and no Wi-Fi. However, it is only a 300-400 yard walk to the edge of the good (Snake) river-side picnic area with swimming and good view of the mountains.

Date of Stay:

Although no cable TV is available, your satellite dish should work fine here. Great owners: helped me spot my satellite. Cleanest showers we have seen. This is a place that has some character.

Icicle is a great place to stay. Ask for the sites next to the river. It is possible to walk a few steps and fish (river really has trout in it). The sites are a little close but acceptable. Wi-Fi works and 50 amp works. Recommend going into Leavenworth; a great "Swiss" village.

Date of Stay:

It is a well run, wooded park. The cable TV system has more channels than you will have time for. Trash cans are very convenient. If there is a negative, it is the lady at the front desk. She is about accommodating as an IRS agent. Also, cabins had wrong rate listed on the website. So, if rate is important you may want to call first to confirm.

This small park is a great place to stay right at the door step of Mount St. Helen. The owners, in their 13th season, were very helpful and friendly. The wi-fi is only available in a small area with picnic tables close to the office. Cell phone access is non-existent. We will stay here again when in the area next time.

Date of Stay:

The sites are large, paved, private and each has a good picnic table. A welcome surprise was the Wi-Fi that worked well. There is a large well-cared-for dog park. There is river fishing within the park. I suggest reservations, especially on the weekends, as was sold out when we were here.

This park gets an "A+" with regard to privacy. Lots of trees and foliage between sites. Although sites are back-in, they are wide and level. The only downsides are: 1) tough to get a satellite fix due to trees and 2) no antenna channels.

Date of Stay:

This park is like a stage coach stop of old. It is good for an overnight, passing through, site. It has good gravel, long pull throughs and takes cash or checks only (put into a mail box). The Wi-Fi is fair (slow) and the cable TV was out when we were here. It is close to a RR track and a little tough to find.

Date of Stay:

Great park with about half being large shaded sites; most had tables. Gravel pads, but well cared for. Only negative thing was that the dog park was full of grass burrs which were a lot of trouble to remove. We will stay here again.

After staying in Colorado at various sites for the last 30 days, must say that this is the best park we have been in. The only exception to this might be Tiger Run in Breckenridge. Roomy, concrete pads, picnic tables, continental breakfast, trees, pool and well-run.

Date of Stay:

We stayed here for 7 nights. The owners were great. It is a good place for kids with miniature golf, volleyball court, 1/2 basketball court. Sites are roomy with a table. There are some paved; some gravel sites. We'll stay here again.

This park has been open two years, so has not reached full potential yet. That said, there is a great view of town yet also saw two deer running through the park. If you like large sites and elbow room; this is the place. The owners are great and even helped with a mechanical problem we had that could have ended our trip.
