Emerald Lake Trailer Resort & Waterpark, Puslinch, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This one is a hard place to give a rating for. The water area is amazing, awesome water slides, splash pads, a lake you can swim across and jump off cliffs. Site was OK, a little small but still OK. All sounds good until the train literally passes right through the middle of the property tooting its horn while screaming through. 2am my daughter practically hit the roof when the train blew it's horn. If not for the train this place is a 9. We camped at Emerald Lake Trailer Resort & Waterpark in a Travel Trailer.

Balsam Lake Provincial Park, Kirkfield, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We love this place. My kids are 5, 3 and 2 and look forward every year to spending 4 or 5 nights here. The first time we were here we were in one of the loops and didn't particularly have the greatest weekend due to noisy neighbors, but since then we know where to stay and never any problems. Even lucky enough to get one of the lakefront sites one year. Amazing. The beaches are awesome and there is a dog swimming area at the canoe launch. Awesome playground. Just pack a bag in the morning and head to the beach for the day. We camped at Balsam Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Jay Lake Campground & RV Park, Minden, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a nice pool, that's about it. Although my 2 year old was not allowed in even with swimming diapers. I have to warn you about the 'sheriff'. She drives around on her golf cart screaming at people with her cowboy hat and badge. Her husband was driving the tractor for wagon ride and the display she put on I will never forget, in front of all the horrified kids. The language and threats she was spewing I don't hear on my hockey teams bench. She made a huge scene in which brought everyone out of their trailers to see what was going on. Because some kids were driving down her road to their cottage. Unbelievable. We camped at Jay Lake Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Algonquin Trails Camping Resort, Dwight, Ontario

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The owner of this place makes your stay horrible. I've never witnessed anything like it. You go camping to relax, not to follow a long list of rules. Sitting by the fire by myself about 1am and made to put fire out. I recommend you do not go here, lots of other good campgrounds 10 minutes down the road! We camped at Algonquin Trails Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.
