Slough Creek Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Slough Creek is a beautiful campground with all camp sites on or near Slough Creek. I was in campsite 1 which was the most private of the campsites and was adjacent to a walking trail along the river. Views of mountains and slough creek are definite highlights. One drawback is the road leading into the campground is about 1 mile of gravel- so, take this into consideration. Other than the road to the campsite- it's perfectly situated for anglers and campers alike. We camped at Slough Creek Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

Indian Creek Campground is located in the Northwest section of Yellowstone Park. This campground is usually one of the last to fill up. I would highly recommend this campground due for it's beauty and accessability. We camped at Indian Creek Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent.

Baker's Hole Campground - USFS, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Baker's Hole is a nice little campground just outside of West Yellowstone, Montana. I was tent camping at site 61 which was adjacent to the Madison River: 20 yards away through brush. While the campground and my site were nice: my overall experience was very poor. I stayed 2 nights and paid for a 3rd night after the second night. On that second night, the group next to me kept me up until 2:00 AM with their loud talking around the campfire. I was not going to continue staying next to this group and I asked for a refund when one of the hosts drove by at 6:30 on his golf cart. (This host is in the first site you encounter, not the second host.) I was told there would be no refund and that I shouldn't complain to a host about the loudness of the group next door. Since I don't want to be "that guy," I didn't contact a host about the loudness. I stated that in this economy, was he really going to be like this and charge me for something I wouldn't be using? He said that they would be hurt too if they offered a refund. Since I'm sure my unused campsite was again charged that night since it was the best remaining available campsite: this campground got double payments for the night. So, this host and the campground certainly weren't hurt by my leaving and they couldn't refunded my money. This "host" was very rude and I left completely furious. The second "host" and his wife with the little dog were very nice. This campground should have one of the hosts do a quick drive by after quiet hour has begun to see if there are any campsites which may cause potential noise problems. I would also completely avoid the "host" in the first campsite because he is not friendly and was very rude to me. Also, never pay a day in advance at this campground. We camped at Baker's Hole Campground - USFS in a Tent.
