Greenbelt Park, Greenbelt, Maryland

Date of Stay: December, 2006 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We checked out this campground as an alternative to Cherry Hill. It is winter so there were not many people there. Used Loop D but it is closing, I think for the winter; use Loop B instead. Site was barely long enough for our 33' motorhome. But is was large and paved. Park was very clean. Campgrounds are about 3 miles from entrance so you may need a car or other method of transportation. We had a deer come up to our camp site. No hook ups but dump station in CG. Nice campground for scout and other youth groups. They have a special loop for the groups. We will return to Greenbelt because of its location and price but our motorhome has a generator and everything we will need. Quiet hours are 10PM to 6AM. We camped at Greenbelt Park in a Motorhome.

Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye), Luray, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice and clean campground. The bathrooms were very clean. The sites were well laid out with ample room between sites. A lot of sites were pull through or "paralell" pull through. This left you with a good view of the mountains. There is a field in the center with a pavilion, playground, volley ball nets, etc. Many sites are right on the edge of the field so you have a good view of your kids while they play. Hill up to the campground was not a problem. Road was gravel but well maintained. We plan to return to this campground. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Fifth Wheel.

Assateague State Park, Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Only loop H has electric hookups. Large, nicely spaced sites. They have a RV dump next to loop H. We really enjoyed the wildlife. The wild horses come right up to your camp site, but remember to keep a safe distance from them; they will bite and kick. There are also deer everywhere. All sites in state park are on the ocean side just on the other side of a dune. Very nice beach but watch the kids for rip tides. Ocean City is about 10 miles north. We will go back again. We camped at Assateague State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ohiopyle State Park, Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2005 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with limited number with electric hookups. They do have a dump station. Sites level side to side but not fore and aft. Lot to do in surronding 10 miles. Fallingwater (Frank Lloyd Wright house), white water rapids, very nice bike trails on river, hiking, etc. Very hilly area and could present a problem for large rigs. Go to web site and follow directions/warnings to get to campground. We camped at Ohiopyle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
