Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed here over a long weekend and really enjoyed the campground despite the rain and mud. This really is a decent campground and pretty good for a KOA. I stayed in one of the deluxe sites that included a cable connection and had decent wi-fi access. The site was level but was a bit narrow and difficult to get into for my 35' trailer. There was a tree on the street side and a poorly placed, permanent cement picnic bench curbside. I didn't use the bathroom or the shower, but I checked and they were very clean. This park is in an excellent location for some of the great shopping and dining in Bowling Green. There are good dog walking areas on the frisbee golf course and I could even let him off leash because there were so few people staying in the park. The staff was very friendly but be warned that they have limited hours during winter months. They are 7-9:30 am and 4-6 pm. I would stay here again. We camped at Bowling Green KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area (Military FamCamp), Muldraugh, Kentucky

Date of Stay: December, 2005 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This was a decent campground for this time of year. There were several trailers and 5th wheels on site that had no occupants, so it was a bit lonely. Must have been seasonals. I was given a gravel site for my 35' trailer, so I have to complain about the mud. Guess I should have asked for a paved site!. Shower room was far away, but immaculent and check-in staff was friendly. The only thing I would recommend is that the campground insulate their water hookups, so I wouldn't have to shut them off at night. I would stay here again.
