Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

This park may have financial problems: The park advertises free WiFi, except two of the towers are unavailable and the one that is available, by the office, offers intermittent service. Supposedly good service occurs within 50' of a working tower, but with 166 sites, it might be a bit crowded by the office if we were all to take that advice. The "local cable channel" service has been reduced to 16 channels from the 60+ channels listed in their brochure. It is a nice location, after all, it is in Coeur d'Alene and there is a decent (20') space between sites. The office personnel were friendly. We won't be back. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Austin Lone Star RV Resort, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is an absolutely beautiful, surprisingly quiet oasis park right off the frontage road of northbound I-35. Every employee is positive & helpful. One of the cleanest parks we've stayed in in 34 years of RVing. We arrived as Hurricane Alex sent a terrific wave of humid, hot weather alternating with rainy, hot weather; stuck inside much of the time. We appreciated the extra-wide pull-through spaces with grassy lawns and mature trees. Very private feeling here. On weekends & holidays the rate jumps to $50/night; however, we still feel it was well worth the price. We camped at Austin Lone Star RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Saddle Mountain RV Park, Tonopah, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice employees, but no cable TV, and it's all cement and gravel on a 110º day. Tonopah, the town, has fallen on hard times. No shopping, no TV, no scenery. So, there isn't much to say about this park except that there's lots of room and the price is right for "a stop on the way to somewhere else." We camped at Saddle Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
