Wild West Ranch and RV Resort (formerly John Wayne RV Ranch), Maricopa, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week while home hunting in Maricopa. Basic park but lacks a pool. Has very good Wi-Fi. $15 per night with Passport America. And yes, at times the aroma from the cow farm will make your eyes water. We camped at Wild West Ranch and RV Resort (formerly John Wayne RV Ranch) in a Fifth Wheel.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

When we last stayed here in 2007 we gave them a 9... this time we only gave a 6. Breakfast, that was provided last visit, was no longer offered. Cable TV reception was very poor... staff said that they would check it, but that did not happen. Wi-Fi has been down for 3 weeks... oh well! Central facilities are very attractive but don't seem to get much use. Next stay in Las Cruces will be somewhere else. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Poche Plantation, Convent, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

RV park developed at an old plantation. Make sure you take the tour with the owner. Very Louisiana laissez-faire park which is a nice change from some parks that rule you to death. Excellent Cable TV included with park fee. WiFi from sites is very poor: have to go to office. Too many aggressive, badly behaved dogs are off leash, (owner's dogs were okay). We camped at Poche Plantation in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly people but obviously they aren't experienced RVers. To develop a new park that caters to today's RVers, this park is lacking 30 amp service at some sites; has poor WiFi at sites; no cable TV; the services are at a poor position at the rear of the sites. Our site only had 30 amp service. Water pressure is very low. WiFi at site is bad even with my booster. Very dusty access road right behind our rig and WHO is policing the speeders in the 5 mph area? For what you get this park is VERY over priced! We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This was a decent park for visiting the Williamsburg area. A couple of negatives caused me to rate it as soso. For bigger rigs, the roads are very tight. Water collected around and under our rig for days after it rained. Had much mud around the hook up area. If ever in the area again, I would look at another park. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hartt Island RV Resort, Fredericton, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park needs some TLC. Roads are horrible with large pot holes. Has many family oriented facilities: pool & water slide, basket nets, golf driving range, mini-golf, etc. Sewer is too far back to be convenient; had to buy an additional 10 ft to add to my 25 ft in order to hook up. Wi-Fi is a community system & is very good for a no-charge service. Next time in Fredericton will choose somewhere else. We camped at Hartt Island RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Ponderosa Pines Family Campground, Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Good location for visiting the Hopewell Rocks and Fundy NP. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Strange setup: as it is not crowded, they allowed us to do a pull-through using 2 sites. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park, Little Bras d'Or, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with excellent hosts. We stayed here 3 nights before heading to Newfoundland, and 5 nights after our return. We left our 5'er here in storage while we did the NFLD tour. They only charge $5 per day for storage if you are staying a least one night in the park. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

RayPort Campground, Martins River, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is mainly seasonal/permanents. We had site L4 which is a very long pull-through with significant shade. No sewer hook-ups and the dump station is in a very difficult place. Pump truck available. Could not get good cable TV reception. WiFi available at a price: $15 / day or $25 / week. Rate is based on 2 nights on Passport America & 2 nights at full price. Would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at RayPort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

By giving this place a 5 I'm really stretching the truth. Grass/mud site that had been worsened by recent rain. Next time we visit Ottawa we will NOT stay here. We camped at Recreationland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Horizon Trailer Park, Shediac, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Couldn't get into the park we targeted so we ended up here. Very narrow roads that made backing in a challenge with a 38' 5er. Had to park my TV away from the site. Not too bad for a few nights visit to the area. We camped at Horizon Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.
