Tall Pines Resort, Lewes, Delaware

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

A trailer park with less than 20 transient sites crammed together next to a mosquito-producing pond in a gravel parking lot. Rude greeter at gate, no tourist info available, kids running wild, $500 reward for turning in thieves posters all over, completely unfriendly. Supposed WiFi hot spots were intermittent at best, even right next to them. And all this for $70 a night, 3 night minimum (we only needed 2). Would never stay here again. We camped at Tall Pines Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Clean, well maintained. Roughly 1 hr drive into DC or 10 minutes to nearest Metro Station. Well controlled with visible ranger presence. Large sites, level, shaded. Would camp here again. Highly recommended. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Tent Trailer.

Pocomoke River State Park, Snow Hill, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the new part of the campground, 10 miles from the main office, pool, internet, and other amenities. Make sure you know which one you're reserving! Our site was shaded & roomy, restrooms were brand new and clean, nice dishwashing sink, access to river for kids to see. Close to Assateague NP (30 min). Would stay here again. We camped at Pocomoke River State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Vancouver RV Park, Vancouver, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here while visiting Portland, and were assured by phone that they had Wi-Fi available. We were unable to connect the entire stay because their bandwidth is completely inadequate for the number of sites. Also a problem were number of showers - 2 for all women! Office open only from 9-5, and no assistance other times. Would not stay again. We camped at Vancouver RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Thousand Trails - Bend/Sunriver, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for one night. I do not recommend it for a quick stop. It is a destination resort. It is not in Bend, but about 15 miles south, which turned out to be very inconvenient for us. Check in took roughly 15 minutes per rig, and we were backed up for a long time. Our biggest complaint is that they advertised WiFi internet, but it was only available at two small locations. They recently turned down the power because people were "stealing" it. Easily solved with passwords!!! If you're coming for a long weekend and enjoy horseshoe tournaments, this is your kind of place. If you're passing through, try somewhere else! We camped at Thousand Trails - Bend/Sunriver in a Tent Trailer.

Pioneer Trails RV Resort , Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very spacious wooded sites, nice staff, clean bathrooms, fast Wi-Fi: this place had it all. Easy access to Deception State Park, the San Juan Is Ferry, and we even left the camper here while we went into Seattle for two days/one night. We moved here from another local campground after learning that their Wi-Fi was out. Since we were staying 5 nights and have 2 teenagers, this was important to us. Highly recommended, but make reservations: they were full on the weekend! We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Glacier Campground, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Like camping in the National park, but with hook-ups! Heavily wooded, private sites made it feel like real camping after several days of parking lot RV parks. Right outside the West Entrance to Glacier, very clean restrooms & showers. This was a perfect park for us, except that we had to sit in the office to use internet. Even that wasn't bad, because it was a huge comfy living room with friendly people. Skip the KOA and stay here!!! We camped at Glacier Campground in a Tent Trailer.

North Park Campground, Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Park caters mostly to the N Dakota oil boom, but was very welcoming to us one-nighters. Level sites, clean area, quiet. Restrooms & showers were sparkling clean and seemed new. Check in was quick and friendly. Highly recommended, but make a reservation. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice, friendly staff. Quiet grounds, clean restrooms and showers. Mini golf and pool made it fun for the kids after a long drive. Typical KOA parking lot, but shade was available. We camped at Minneapolis Northwest KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park, Bremen, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Site was a strange narrow mound, which made it perilous to exit camper. Others were available (pull-throughs) that looked better. Facility was multi-use, with day swimmers and a few campers. Good for a one-night stay. Easy to find from highway. Garbage pick-up at 6:45 lowered the rating! We camped at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in a Tent Trailer.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Overall Rating:

Rating would have been higher except for 4 things: 1. on flight path of Gallup airport 2. trains 3. highway 4. Country singer every night for 3 hours (we were lucky that it rained one night, cancelling his show) Otherwise, staff was extremely helpful, site was good, everything was clean. We camped at USA RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Elk Creek RV Park, Elk City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

90% of park was filled with semi-permanent oil/mine workers, who were luckily very quiet. The office, however, was not used to dealing with overnight guests. Wi-Fi turned off at 7pm, when the office closed an hour early. Phone calls were not returned, and when we left 2 hours after office opening time, still no one there. Luckily McDonalds was nearby for our communication needs! Site was level, but no picnic tables at ours and many sites. Their ad, which states "nicest on I-40" is fortunately NOT true. We camped at Elk Creek RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Very nice, enthusiastic owner, level shaded site, quiet, easy hookups, nice baths recently renovated, nice laundry. Only complaint is that the dog playground was nicer than the kid playground. We camped at Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA in a Travel Trailer.
