Whispering Spruce Campground, Balzac, AB is absolutely the worst RV park we have ever stayed in and we have 'camped' extensively throughout Western Canada and US. We had to wait over an hour for someone to open the Office so we could get our reserved sites. The bathrooms were filthy and had not seen a scrub mop or disinfectant in a long time. I told the office person that the ladies bathroom was not very clean and was quite smelly. It still had a rank smell when we left on Friday. The Office was in need of a good cleaning but was cleaner on Friday evening. By Friday evening, someone had made a half-hearten attempt at cleaning the Men's Washroom and had put in toilet paper after being 3 days without any. We choose this campground from the AB Campground Book as it was convenient to where we were visiting in Calgary. This campground has great potential but the current owners appear to be more interested in the Dollars they are getting from the unsuspecting public. The lots were poorly maintained and the grass around the sites was in need of a whipper-sniper. The north side of the campground had sewer remains sitting in the grass on the east side of the road. This park needs an inspector for the health and safety of their patrons.

We have stayed at Symons Valley Campground, Calgary, AB several times over the years and have always found this to be a good park. Although the sites are a little small, they are well maintained. Everything is kept clean. They told us when we registered that they will probably be bought out in a few years due to the expanding city so would not be doing any upgrades but would keep everything in working order as long as they had it. The staff were all friendly. They, also, have an excellent Ice Cream shop right there. It is unfortunate that this park will soon be gone as we would highly recommend it as long as it remains open. Thank you to the owners/staff of this park. Good luck in the future!

If you are looking for a place to be as a Winter Texan, Llano Grande Resort is the place to be. We have been going there for 6 years and have booked again for 2010. It is pricey but we feel it is worth it because of all the amenities. We found all staff very friendly and willing to help when needed. We had a problem with the cable TV but it turned out to be at our end as we did not have our remote set to receive cable TV and did not do the auto channel searching. The cable internet works well and we chose to use it over the wireless. There are so many activities to chose from - you could be doing something every day. We have chosen to book our site in the older East end as we find everyone very friendly. Great place to spend the winter!
