Happy Time RV Park, Dunnigan, California

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We travel in a 40' fifth wheel pulled by a semi, a total of 65' and I am happy any time I can find an overnight stay that has easy access. It was a bit tight maneuvering through the park but they had a pull thru site for us that was easy to get into and out of.
The showers were badly in need of updating and cleaning. The park seemed a bit run-down with mostly permanent residents. There was a field next to the park where we walked the dog.
I had called ahead for a reservation and was glad I did. They were turning people away when we arrived and we got the last spot.
The park was quiet, the staff was friendly, and everything worked. We camped at Happy Time RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stovepipe Wells Village RV Park (Concessionaire Operated), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is centrally located in Death Valley. We used the Golden Age Passport discount which gave us half off the regular price. A very good deal for full hookups. The RV park is pretty bare bones (but hey, it's Death Valley, don't expect landscaping) and it was a challenge to get level, but the view is magnificent. We walked our dog down the dirt road past the airstrip so she could get more exercise than just walking around the campground. There is no wifi or cell reception but you can go across the road to the motel lounge where you can sometimes get wifi to work.
Stovepipe Wells is a great value. You have easy access to most of Death Valley, the staff is friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant, bar, gas pump, and gift shop and you can use the pool and showers.
Stovepipe Wells is not a resort. You have to go to Furnace Creek to use your cell phone and do laundry. However, that is a small price to pay for the convenient location and views.
We camped here in a 30' motorhome but the sites can take bigger rigs. We would most definitely stay here again. We camped at Stovepipe Wells Village RV Park (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Arabian RV Oasis, Boron, California

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We travel in a 40' fifth wheel pulled by a semi, a total of 65 feet. Any time I can find an overnight stay with easy access where we can actually fit I consider it a pretty good place. Arabian Oasis is a basic park that is easy to get to and maneuver a big rig through. We had a pull thru site at the end of the park. Everything worked fine. There is a vacant field just outside the north fence where I was able to let the dog run around.
The park is clean, quiet and functional. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would stay here again. We camped at Arabian RV Oasis in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Walk a few blocks to Domingo's restaurant. They get a lot of business from nearby Edwards Air Force base so the decor is an interesting mix of the usual Mexican embellishments interspersed with posters of jets and pictures of pilots and astronauts. And the food is good, too.

Jamaica Beach RV Park, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects a monthly of $585. This park is wonderful. It must be a blast in the summer when you can use the pool and play miniature golf. A gorgeous, pristine beach is right across the street. The office staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. You can order pizza or wings and they make it right there. The park is very clean and well maintained. We stayed for a month and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Jamaica Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyons RV Park, Sanderson, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The park is small but has plenty of room to maneuver a big rig. The sites are gravel with shade trees and nice landscaping in the park. The rate is reasonable considering what we paid in other Texas parks. Very easy access to the highway but not much traffic noise. We would stay here again. We camped at Canyons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kah-Nee-Ta Resort & Spa, Warm Springs, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are paved with a patio and picnic table. The park is beautifully landscaped with lots of green lawn and trees. There are hiking trails that are great for walking the dog. The WiFi was spotty, sometimes it worked great, other times it was slow. The pool is free for resort guests and there are good golf deals to be had. They have a free shuttle service if you want to golf or go to the lodge. The entrance is a hair tight for a big rig but we made it in with no trouble. Plenty of room to maneuver once in the RV park. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We camped at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort & Spa in a Fifth Wheel.

Outback Retirement, Christmas Valley, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in the process of changing ownership. The new owner was on-site and said they will be improving and expanding the RV park. The RV park is well situated in the center of town, right across the street from the city park which has a playground and tennis courts. There is a restaurant, gift shop, and grocery store right there. The 9 hole golf course is just down the street. The RV park has a large green lawn running the length of the park so each site backs up to trees and grass. The sites are gravel and had plenty of room for our 40' fifth wheel. Although we did have to unhitch to fit we were able to park our HDT right in front of our site. There was plenty of room to maneuver the rig into the back in site. The wifi was not working while we were there but the new owner intends to get it up and running soon. The park is clean and well maintained and is pet friendly. We would definitely stay here again. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. We camped at Outback Retirement in a Fifth Wheel.

What a pretty park. Lots of grass and shade trees. Right off the highway but very quiet. No problem maneuvering our big rig. Our site was plenty long, one of the only ones we've been in that we didn't stick out at one end. Showers are clean and plenty of hot water. There is a large grassy dog walk area. Wi-Fi was good. Would stay here again. Price reflects military discount. We camped at Burns RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Convenient to highway but quiet with room to maneuver a big rig. Park is a paved lot close to the casino. Showers are clean and plenty of hot water. Convenient to freeway. Easy to maneuver a big rig. Super-size sites are level, spacious and have a patio with picnic table and privacy fence. Showers are clean and plenty of hot water. Laundry room looks really nice. Staff is very nice and helpful. The location is stunning, right at the base of PIcacho Peak. Just outside the park is plenty of room to take the dog for a walk. Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park), Prospect, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

I don't understand the negative comments about this park. We've been coming here for eight years and the owners and staff have always been friendly and helpful. We love this park. The sites are level and shaded by large pine trees. The restrooms and shower are spotless. You can walk to the river. There is also a hiking trail that goes for 42 miles along the river. We can let the dog off-leash on this trail so she can run and explore. You can hike, bicycle, drive, 4-wheel, or ride your OHV in the most spectacular scenery on earth. There are lakes and the river for swimming, boating, and fishing. There is food and gas in Prospect and the historic hotel serves a delicious dinner. The park is family and dog friendly. It's quiet at night so you can rest up for the next day's adventures. We look forward to coming here every year. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
