Location. Location. Location. We hesitated to stay here after reading less than favorable reviews on this site, but decided to take a chance since it was both walking distance to downtown Jackson, and had a free bus system stop just outside of the site. Well we were very pleasantly surprised by how nice this property was! It was clean, friendly, and perfect for our kids and our dog. Our kids lived in the heated swimming pool, and made new friends at the site. We enjoyed grilling steaks on the outdoor grill provided. We visited the fabulous library across the street from the property. And we took our pup on great runs into the mountains and streams each day. While the rates were on the steep side, we would have had to have paid $300/night to get comparable accommodations at a hotel in Jackson. We loved being right in town and being able to walk for fresh bagels in the morning and great ice cream after supper. Plus we got to see the town's wonderful 4th of July parade and incredible fireworks display. We had a fabulous stay at the Virginian!

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 kids and dog, and it was one of our favorite spots during our 3 week camping adventure through Yellowstone, Montana and Wyoming. The back in sites had nice shaded grassy areas--great for our dog. The showers/restrooms were spotless. Our kids loved the heated pool, the game room complete with a ping pong table and arcade games. The staff was very nice and accommodating--Ingrid showed us several available sites and allowed us to choose our favorite! Victor was a lovely town with the best Huckleberry milkshakes you could ever imagine, and a great Italian/Pizza place right down the road from the campground. Driggs a few miles away had the "Spud" drive-in movie theater which we all loved! We took a fabulous hike on the west side of the Tetons (that one of the owners of the campground suggested)--it was easy and beautiful! Waterfalls, streams, even a Moose crossing our path. An undiscovered oasis just 20+ miles west of Jackson. Don't miss it!
