Oak Creek RV Park, Weatherford, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest RV Parks I have ever seen. Everything is immaculate and they take great pride in keeping everything very clean and pretty, complete with pretty flowers and large trees on some sites. All the streets are paved and the utilities hookup boxes are made just for that purpose and look very neat. The main building is stunning and well kept with a swimming pool and hot tub included. The sites are not as long as they could be but they do provide adequate room. The landscaping is excellent, with a drainage canal that has been rock lined with small dams and looks very nice. Why did we not give it a 10? Because it is very close to very loud and very busy Interstate 20. If you are unfortunate enough to have a site near the activities building expect to hear loud highway traffic sounds 24 hours a day. If we had realized just how loud they were we would have insisted on a site further away, which would probably take care of most of the problem. We camped at Oak Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Texas RV Park of Big Spring, Big Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Owners were very friendly and helpful. Rec room was excellent. The negatives are very little grass, not many trees and it was quite dusty. All in all it is a good park that I can recommend, even with a few landscaping drawbacks. Easy to get in and out of, and close to the main hiway. We camped at Texas RV Park of Big Spring in a Fifth Wheel.

Golden Eagle RV Park, Eagle Nest, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The park is all gravel and the shade trees are very few and far between. They provide a light breakfast free of charge, but they have a small restaurant that will provide a full meal for a fee. Owners are friendly and helpful. Sites are pretty close together. We camped at Golden Eagle RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Circle The Wagons RV Park , La Veta, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with a stream running through it. The sites are very wide and long with grass between each site. The only downside is there is no cable TV because the local provider went out of business and there is only one channel available via antenna. The park is wired for cable but there is nothing they an connect up with. Also there is no pavement at all. It is a gravel road leading to the park and all gravel in the park. Other than those two negatives, the park really quite nice with a lot of friendly people and some nice large shade trees. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

River Ranch RV Park, Red River, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

River Ranch RV park is in a great location with an excellent fishing pond and a river running through the park. The staff was friendly and helpful, but park is pretty neglected and run down and that is sad, because it has the potential to be a "10+" if they would spend some money on it. Having said that I still plan on coming back because of the location and the good on site fishing. We camped at River Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park, Quanah, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful park for night or two. The old cotton gin has been converted into a group gathering place, that is a really good area for RV groups. Our Good Sam's club comes here once a year for a monthly outing, and it is always a positive experience. The town (??) is pretty isolated, but that is not the fault of the park. Excellent stopover park. We camped at Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fun Valley Campground, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Fun Valley is a great family RV resort. The sites are all gravel or grass and they are a little close together. The park is in a perfect location on the South Fork of the Rio Grande river which flows though the property and has many beautiful huge trees. On top of that there are a dozen or so small ponds that the park stocks with fish. They have a miniature golf course, paddle boats, horseback rides, an arcade and outdoor and indoor game area. They have a cafeteria that is open for every meal every day. The downside is that it is almost too popular and things get very very crowded in July. They have a policy of not turning anyone away. If the sites are all taken they just put you in a pasture until one becomes available. They also do not take reservations. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Page Lake Powell Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an all gravel RV park that is just barely OK. The problem is the staff are clueless. The location wasn't accurate on the GPS. We pulled over and called them twice asking for directions to the park and they just kept saying "It's where all the trees are!" Not very helpful, and when we finally found it there really weren't that many trees after all. They have the only RV park in town and their attitude shows it. We camped at Page Lake Powell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Moab Rim RV Campark & Cabins, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $17.00

This is an all gravel park. The price stated is a Passport America rate. The staff was very helpful. There are many other nicer parks in Moab, but for the PA rate this is an OK place. We camped at Moab Rim RV Campark & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Vallecito Resort, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The park is in a great location in the middle of huge evergreens. Sites are a little close together. The laundry etc. could use some updating but it not a bad place at all. I would stay there again without fear. We camped at Vallecito Resort in a Motorhome.

Along the River Park , Capitan, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This place is the pits. Matter of fact it is in a pit. When leaving you really need someone out on the highway watching for oncoming traffic because you need to get a run at it to get out of the place. Owner/operator has an attitude of "take it or leave it". He assigned us a site that was almost impossible to get into. Also no sewer dump at the site and a "tough luck" response. I had rather overnight at a Wal-Mart than spend another night here. We camped at Along the River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Jacob Lake Campground - USFS, Jacob Lake, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

This a nice NFS park in a nice high altitude (cool) location. Sites are not very level and there are not as many trees as there should be, but other than that it is a good place to camp out. The camp host are friendly and helpful. Not a bad place to boon dock on your way to see the canyon. We camped at Jacob Lake Campground - USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Willowind RV park is as near perfect RV park as I have seen. The grounds were spotless, the sites were level concrete and plenty long and it had many tall fruitless Mulberry shade trees, and that's really important in the summer because it regularly tops 100 degrees, but that's sure not the parks fault. It's a great place to stay, and on top of it all the staff is very helpful. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lagoons RV Resort, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Lagoons is a great place with 100% level concrete streets and pads, a very good rec hall with indoor heated pool and hot tub. It has a small store with some RV items and a small grill and a lot of activities. The park is very clean and well maintained and it is centrally located in Rockport. Why is it not a 10? Only because cable TV is extra cost (for stays of a week or more), and the Wi-Fi is also extra cost. Kind of reminds me of a really nice restaurant but you have to pay extra for the napkin and the silverware. We camped at Lagoons RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
