Lake Isabella KOA, Weldon, California

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed this park and would come back here. We stayed the first weekend in August. Our site was clean, and there was plenty of shade from the trees. There were two large groups of tent campers near us, so pretty loud, but since we are a family with young kids this was not a problem for us. The pool and splash pad were fun for the kids, as was the Ice Cream Social on Friday night. We loved the Kamp Kitchen; I cooked our dinner there one night while the family was swimming. Having the store close by was convenient, but there is also the town of Mt Mesa just a few minutes up ahead with a grocery store and gas station. A note to campers: this campground is NOT on the lake; you need to have a car available to reach the lake and also Kern River. All in all, this was a great place for our family to stay! A few of the negatives were that there was quite a bit of dog waste in the campground that was not picked up, and also there isn't a lot of paved area for riding bikes/scooters for the kids. It is quite a noisy campground, but as I mentioned this was not a problem in our case since we have young kids. But I would not recommend this campground for those looking for peace and quiet. We camped at Lake Isabella KOA in a Motorhome.

Nightly rate is approximate. Loved this campground!! It's great for families, and within walking distance to the charming town of Pismo Beach. Nicely maintained campground, a bit pricey though. Has great beach access, a nice pool and playground areas. We camped at Pismo Coast Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The campground is very nice. Well maintained, and has beach access. We were dissapointed with the amenities that were within walking distance: there was nothing close by. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails, Acton, California

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I am unsure about the nightly rate as we went as guests with friends who had a membership. This place was truly horrible. Before camping here we had actually considered buying one of these memberships, I am so happy we didn't! The park was filled with groups towards the back of the campground, who obviously didn't observe the quiet policy at night or early morning! We camped at Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.
