King's Riverbend Park, Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I would of rated this park higher but the lack of cable tv and wifi that was practically non-existent resulted in a lower rating. Overall a nice park with gravel sites and roadway, fairly level sites and located on a nicely flowing river. Its only a couple of miles out of town and fairly easy access to goods and services. There is no office and the single restroom is located in the laundry room which has 2 washer/dryer machines. Overall its an "OK" park that seems to be overpriced due to the lack of tv and poor wifi. We moved to another nearby park and got better pricing with tv service and a working wifi. We camped at King's Riverbend Park in a Motorhome.

Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA , Lawrence, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here as an overnite stay passing thru on I-70. It was OK for that purpose other than being expensive. Access was a little challenge as its off the interstate a few miles and not well marked. Half of the park is dedicated to permanent residents. All gravel roads and sites, semi level. Staff was good and its a bit of a drive to a grocery store/restaurants located in the downtown area. Overall not bad for a quick stopover other than the cost. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground, Elko, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as only an overnight guest as we were travelling north on I-75. It was close to the exit and easy to find. Access to the park was easy and the staff as very helpful. We used a big pull-thru as we were towing a long trailer which made is 70' overall. Park was in good overall condition and fulfilled our needs just fine. Didnt use the Wi-Fi or restrooms. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Santos Trailhead & Campground, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for bike riding on the nearby trails. Large sites mostly shaded with 50 amp and water, but no sewer system. Might be a problem with TV viewing if you use satellite due to the tree canopy (which needs to be trimmed on some sites to avoid tree scratches). We got a few local stations on the RV antenna. Hosts were great, very helpful, and on top of cleaning the sites as soon as one became empty. It's about 2 1/2 miles to grocery stores etc. We camped at Santos Trailhead & Campground in a Motorhome.

Mt. Princeton RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

First, be careful entering the park, there is a sizable dip at the entrance that you need to slow down for. The park is very overpriced for a very basic parking lot type campground with gravel sites and little or no shade. Wi-Fi didn't work and no cable TV. Also they charge you $4.00 PER PET. We had planned to stay her for a few days but we found a much better campground close by that was a lot less costly and NO PET FEE. Also, they told us that next year they won't allow pets at all due to people complaining about the pet fee. Not very friendly people. We camped at Mt. Princeton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Alafia River State Park, Lithia, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with large sites especially in the horse camping area. Clean and well maintained park. There is only 1 shower and rest room for all of the 30 sites, so sometimes there is a wait. The trees on the roadway and some sites need to be trimmed as they rubbed our roof. Verizon service is great here. No Wi-Fi, TV, or sewer and 1 dump station. Good mountain bike trails, hiking trails, and horseback riding trails. The water has a slight smell, so bring your own drinking water. It's about an 8 mile drive to the grocery store. We camped at Alafia River State Park in a Motorhome.

St. John's RV Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

It's an OK campground for an overnight stop off I-95. The campground is 90% long term sites, but there are approximately 20 sites in the front section dedicated to overnight guests in the front of the park. Some have a little shade, some have concrete pads, some 30 amp, some 50 amp. Rate was for Passport America. Nice staff and a great area for dog walking. Cable TV was good but couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work. Kinda pricey if you don't use Passport. We camped at St. John's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Atlanta South RV Resort , Mcdonough, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

If a swimming pool and a nice office makes a "resort", then it's a resort. IMO its a run down campground with 80-90% permanent tenants. Wi-fi works OK, but no cable TV. You can get a few network channels with your antenna. Narrow paved roadways with dirt sites that are somewhat level, but most will require blocks to get close to level. Electric and water OK, as well as cell phone reception. This campground is in need of a lot of maintenance to the sites and infrastructure. Kind of overgrown and a lot of trash scattered about. Not nearly worth the $32, but we were desperate for a site as it took 1 1/2 hrs to get through Atlanta and getting late. Fairly close to I-75 with no road noise. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Destiny Parks and Pavillion (Military FamCamp), Fort Campbell, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We used Fletcher’s Fork campground to visit our son who is in Ft Campbell. Its a little hard to find but convenient to the base. Good utilities and mostly shaded sites, No TV or WiFi. Next to a shooting range that is active until dark with considerable noise. Not bad if you have a reason to visit someone on the base. We camped at Destiny Parks and Pavillion (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Jackson Hole / Snake River KOA, Jackson, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Probably one of the worst KOA campgrounds I've ever been in. Very small sites that are not at all level, grouchy staff, muddy sites and roads. Might be OK in the cabins or tents, but not for most motorhomes. Twenty five miles from the park and about 10 from the town -and all of this for $90 a night. Wouldn't recommend. We camped at Jackson Hole / Snake River KOA in a Motorhome.

Mill Creek Campground & RV Park, Paxico, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice CG. Close to I-70 but no road noise. There is a railroad track very close to the CG, but didn't bother us with the a/c on. Nice hosts and lots of site room with a huge area to walk dogs. Utilities worked perfectly. Some shaded sites and a storm shelter is available. There is a small bar/grill within walking distance that has bar food that was very good. I would recommend as a 1-2 day stopover. We camped at Mill Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This CG is an in-town location close to I-70. Good for an overnight stay off the Interstate. Some shaded grass/dirt sites, didn't try the Wi-Fi or TV. There is a decently stocked grocery store within walking distance. Utilities worked well, no road noise. Nice hosts. We camped at Shady Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Centennial RV Park and Campground, Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about 10 miles south of Montrose and located directly on Rte 550. The sites along the highway have some traffic noise, not so much in the back. All sites are long pull throughs, gravel, and semi level. Utilities and WiFi are excellent, but no TV is available other than a few over the air stations or use your satellite. Some sites have partial shade and all are big and roomy. Only 2 garbage sites so you might have a walk to the dumpster. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good park, just a little remote for some people. We camped at Centennial RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground with concrete pads, great wi-fi, 50 amp, shade, and grass. Onsite owners are the best people. Quiet and within walking distance to a small town business district. Wish I could have stayed longer. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
