El Capitan State Beach, Goleta, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as we were passing through the area and really enjoyed the location. The campground overlooks the El Capitan State Beach. It's beautiful. I loved the amount of shade trees that were throughout the campground. My only "con" to this place is the amount of restrooms. They were very busy since there are no hookups in the campground. They could definitely used more facilities. We would stay here again. We camped at El Capitan State Beach in a Tent Trailer.

Banning Stagecoach KOA, Banning, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Although we stayed here just as we were passing through the area, we both decided we would stay here again. Information was left on the door for us in a sealed envelope answering all the questions we had (site number, bathroom access code, Wi-Fi access information, checkout time, etc.). The restrooms were immaculate. The pool was well-used in the morning before we left. There were nice shade trees located throughout this campground. We camped at Banning Stagecoach KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Santa Vida RV Park, Santa Cruz, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were a bit disappointed on arrival to find out that the pool that was advertised as "seasonal pool" on their website, was permanently closed. Overall, we had a good stay at this campground, but things seemed more than a bit run-down. There were A LOT of permanent residents here. Thankfully, we had a site that was near the entrance. Make sure if you are driving/pulling a "big-rig", that you park and walk up the hill to the office. The manager will let you know what spot you've been assigned prior to arrival, so that you can park your camper first before going to the office. That was helpful. This was a great location to stay at to make "day trips" to places like Monterey, Gilroy, and San Francisco. We camped at Santa Vida RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Morro Dunes RV Park, Morro Bay, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as we were passing through the area. I was pleased to find info left for us on the door of the office since we arrived after the office had closed. We were given a great location. Easy in. Easy out. Near the restrooms. J-11 & J-12. We had only booked one site, but they gave us two. Since we're new to camping, pull-through sites are a welcome thing. The restrooms were quite clean despite the huge amount of use they received. We would stay here again. We camped at Morro Dunes RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Lake Jennings, Lakeside, California

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We loved Lake Jennings. I liked the amount of shade trees our site had and the proximity to the restrooms. I also appreciated the fact that although we had neighbors on both sides, we couldn't even see them because of the shade trees and shrubbery. We would definitely stay here again. There is an $8 fee for each reservation made in addition to the nightly fee. You are only charged the $8 once for the entire stay. We camped at Lake Jennings in a Motorhome.
