This is a beautiful state park! I love to visit them but usually don't like camping in them. Boy was I was pleasantly surprised! Well run, spacious sites, plenty to see and do, good restrooms. The staff and rangers are all very dedicated and knowledgable. Cavern tour is a must if you are physically able. We will be back when we can stay longer than a weekend!

Like their website states, this isn't a fancy place but it is well maintained and clean. Everything is very dated, but again, kept quite clean. It is located right next to I-95 so there is a lot of highway noise. There is a gas station at the entrance to the campground which is convenient for small essentials such as drinks, but it's not a grocery store by any means. Otherwise, this campground isn't near anything. 15-20 minute drive to the nearest Wal-Mart or Publix. The rec room and bath house/laundry are not air conditioned which was quite uncomfortable for FL in July. The owners are friendly and visible. Small pool but again clean, rec room had a pool table, ping pong, books, etc. My kids enjoyed it, other than it being very warm in there. This is a good spot for an overnight while driving through FL or brief stays. We were in town to see the last shuttle go up. The campground is about 30-40 minutes from the space center and about the same from some nice beaches. Bring the bug spray!

This was our first time at a KOA. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful, we arrived after dark and office was closed, but they saw us and came out to help. Escorted us to site and provided light for us to pull in and unhook the trailer. They stopped by again a couple more times during our stay to check and make sure we were happy. The park is kind of simple compared to some we've been to, but well maintained and had enough to do in between our day trips around the area. Excellent value for the rate. Free breakfast on one morning! Pool could use some refurbishing but was refreshing and my kids enjoyed it. Bathrooms are dated but fairly clean and air conditioned. Very close to I-95 but the road noise wasn't too bad. Park has a BIG time ant problem and the mosquitos are horrible so bring plenty of spray and candles. On checkout day most of the park was clearing out and there were staff out before quiet hours were over, rattling around on the dirt road in a golf cart towing a wheel barrel, very noisy, woke us up. There are a lot of "permanent" (?) trailers on the perimeter which were unsightly and had a lot of barking dogs. Ft. Clinch was awesome but St. Mary's and Kingsland were a bit of a snooze. We will likely not return but would recommend this as a good overnight stay to/from FL.

This is a great place, but not for those of us who don't own huge motorhomes or 5th wheels. We felt very out of place and uncomfortable, as this CG is geared toward those owners and/or permanent trailers and boaters. Beautiful area of VA, nice surroundings, but not much to do nearby. We did go into Williamsburg for a day which was nice and didn't take too long. My kids enjoyed the water slides and other water play features as well as the playground and train ride. The pools were not clean which was pretty disappointing and I am not sure why they employ lifeguards, because while there I witnessed one sleeping, one texting, and another taking smoke breaks outside of the pool area. I had to stay near the slide to make sure the kids waited for the bottom to be clear because the guy manning the slide wasn't paying any attention. Since we are not equipped with a bathroom we relied on the bath houses which were fine for going to the bathroom but not for showering. They were tiny, cramped stalls with a cord that you had to pull to get the water to come out. It's pretty hard to have to reach up and pull a short cord with one hand while trying to shampoo and get washed up with the other. Also it is well water with that sulfur odor which I guess is to be expected in such a rural area but being a city dweller I didn't care for it. Cable and Wi-Fi worked great, store is OK, staff is very friendly and available. The outdoor fitness equipment was very cool, never seen that before! We will probably not return but may try their sister camp down the road next time (Bethpage) since we drove over and checked it out and it seemed to be more suited for us.

We had a great time here. Great place for kids, lots for them to do. The CG was very busy and the staff was still very helpful and friendly. I didn't witness any yelling or swearing as mentioned earlier. The bathhouse on the hill is the best one, it's a modular building that is fairly new, air conditioned and clean. The one nearest the pool is a little old and cramped but not too bad. Didn't use the one near the jumping pillow area. Store is great, has everything you need, and the drive to town isn't bad if you opt to go to a grocery store. This is a very peaceful, beautiful area of PA and the CG is very well kept. The only negative things I would say are: 1. The pool was overcrowded and warm (thought the waterpark was awesome), it would be good to have another pool. 2. We didn't observe quiet hours being enforced and unfortunately were situated near some late night, loud neighbors. 3. The pedal carts, while super fun for our kids, need to be worked on and perhaps a few more added to the fleet.
