Elks Lodge #2091 (Members only), South San Francisco, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Members only and if a member you already know these are the best people on Earth. It is an excellent location for visiting San Francisco and the surrounding area. Come prepared to dry camp and you will not be disappointed. Dinner is served on Tuesday night and the bar, with snacks, is open every day. Careful, your Garmin GPS will lead you astray. We camped at Elks Lodge #2091 (Members only) in a Motorhome.

RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino, Corning, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park - typical Casino RV park with few amenities other than proximity to the casino. It is easy in and out with a gas station right at the entrance with good fuel prices. We would not hesitate to stay here again for a night. The water is good at 160 ppm and the electricity is good. We camped at RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino in a Motorhome.

Timberline RV Park, Concrete, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Timberline is a lovely park in a setting of old growth pine trees. It is beautiful; the sites are level, the water is very good at 60 ppm though the water pressure is very low. We fill our tank, slowly, and then operate on the RV's water pump. That works out fine. The manager is very nice, friendly, and helpful. Cable is provided though you will need a 'cable box' to use it. The clubhouse is wonderful with a full kitchen, two fireplaces - one wood burning, and a wood grill built into the fireplace. However, it doesn't appear to be used often. Everything is locked and you are provided a key. I was told this is to prevent the locals from shooting drugs in the bathrooms. There is no pool or other amenities. The park is generally quite with a couple barking dogs now and again. It wasn't bothersome. We couldn't manage to get connected to the park's WiFi. I'm told it is good and, Verizon is very strong in the park at 20 Mbps. Spoiling the ambiance, a little is the fact that the vast majority are longtime tenants of the toothless type. Transits are few. We were here a week and saw only one stop for a night. One of the managers said he witnesses numerous RV pull in, take a drive through the park and leave. Business seems terrible here, and I don't understand why as the setting is beautiful. The park apparently subsists on the long-term trade who can't afford to live anywhere else. It's a pity. The Cascade Mountains and Cascade National Park are next door though during our stay the smoke from the wildfires limited visibility to the end of your nose. There are 31 total sites with four sites available for transits. We camped at Timberline RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tall Chief RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails, Fall City, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Very pretty and quiet RV park in the forest. The sites are spacious and provide a feeling of privacy. There is a pool, sauna, hot tub, tennis, putt-putt golf, pool, and more. No Wifi and no sewer connection. Water quality is excellent at 100 ppm. Too many trees for satellite and too far in the woods for local TV reception - no cable. Regardless, a great park. We camped at Tall Chief RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very convenient to Seattle. There is a nice casino nearby. There is a beautiful waterfall in fall city. Unfortunately Fall City is home to some serious drug users. Your propery is not safe in your car. We witnessed police responding to a fight and a car breakin. Fortunately, this problem does not appear to extend to Tall Chief.

Crooked Tree Motel RV Park, Hungry Horse, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little park close to Glacier National Park. It's Montana dusty and more as the adjacent road is being worked on. It is just a circle of 26 back-in sites under the trees. Very pleasant. WiFi is poor, speeds of 0.7 to 2.0 were seen when the WiFi worked which was not all of the time. The water is very good at 140 ppm. We would be happy to stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Crooked Tree Motel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lincoln Road RV Park, Helena, Montana

Tips for other Campers:

Lewis' Gateway is awesome. Take the boat tour! Helena is just another dull western town with an old bordello and a huge Catholic church. There's a connection there which, for the moment, escapes me. But, the combination is pervasive.

Sturgis RV Park , Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

No pool, no golf, no gym, or anything such. This is not an RV resort. However, it is a very clean and efficient place to park and live while you explore the wonders of the area. Or, witness the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The park is neat and clean, Wifi is good - better than most - and the water 350 ppm. The rate goes up, as it does in all of the RV parks in the area, during bike week. The rate here is $525 - $1,000 for the duration - five days. The Passport America discount is good for only two days. Then you revert to the $35 rate, plus tax. That would not be such a good value. But, fair. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Sturgis RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hill's RV Park & Campground, Plankinton, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Great for an overnight stop. The sites are all pull-through and long enough so you don't have to unhook. Though there is a nice swimming pool, this is not a resort. Rather it's quick off the highway and back on the next morning. The park is clean and well maintained. WiFi works well enough to receive your email. Water is good. Gravel interior roads and sites on grass. The sites are set up for trailers with the connections at the rear of the site. So, if you pull through and get the tow car in, the hoses and power cable will not reach. Excellent overnight stop. I believe some sites have sewer for an extra charge. The sunrise over the plain is awesome. Other than that, there's not much here. Plankinton is a small rural town with all that implies. The local restaurants aspire to more but fall short. The town of Mitchell is just 25 miles East. It's the home of the Corn Palace and a large rural town with all that implies. We will return. We camped at Hill's RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Neshonoc Lakeside Camping Resort, West Salem, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nicely kept park by the lake in beautiful country. Apparently, there are a lot of sites available during the week. It fills up with locals on the weekends and there is no room at the inn for Thousand Trail Members. There are all the amenities of a resort RV park. Two pools, volleyball, basketball, a hot tub, boat rental for the lake and more. The sites are pleasant and well maintained. We will not hesitate to attempt to stay there again. Wisconsin State Fair RV Park, West Allis, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The Wisconsin State Fair RV Park is the ONLY RV Park in Metro Milwaukee. It's a poorly paved parking lot. RVs are parked very close together and connections, where they exist, are inconveniently placed. It's filthy with many long-term residents. Some on sites without water and sewer connections. The tenant next to me dumped his tanks on the ground every week and parked his truck in front of my RV's door to hide what he was doing.

The is my first 'Terrible' rating in the ten years I've been submitting. It is sad. We camped at Wisconsin State Fair RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice clean park with all the amenities. Very much an old style 1000 Trails Park. The Wifi is useless and cell coverage spotty. The hot tub was cold and not maintained through the pool is nice. Wilson's Riverfront RV Park, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The park is well kept. It is much nicer than it looks from outside the park. Half of the sites back up to the French Broad River. The $39 daily rate is based on the $270 weekly rate. There is nothing bad to be said other than the advertised WiFi is worthless. And, the river has been known to flood. Besides the river, the best feature is a walking/bike path that passes through the center of the park and on to far venues in either direction. We camped at Wilson's Riverfront RV Park in a Motorhome.
