Hillsdale State Park, Paola, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We paid $16 plus $6.50 plus $3. The park was nice enough with good walking trails, but I did not like having to give my Social Security number. They say they want to find people who owe child support (a 77 year old female from out of state?). The bridge was out, but there were no warnings and no information or directions for an alternate route. We camped at Hillsdale State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Welcome Station RV Park, Wells, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

PA rate for non-sewer site. Appeared to be lots of transient workers, but they were no problem. The power was very poor, couldn't use the microwave. Very nice to have shade and green grass in the desert. We camped at Welcome Station RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tuxedo Park & Fairgrounds, Crete, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

To avoid 3 ton-limit bridge, from Hwy 33, go North on Arizona, right on 13th, left on Idaho (gravel) which becomes Rodeo on the north side of park. Turn right on Izaak Walton and left on Old Settlers. Sites are on the right just after shower house. Water and dump available. Park/fairgrounds gets lots of use and there is train noise at night, but we found our stay very pleasant. We camped at Tuxedo Park & Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Prairie Flower Recreation Area COE, Johnston, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

$9 with Golden Age Card. We camped in Prairie Flower North where sites are wagon-train style surrounding a grassy circle with pavilion in the center. Great for group camping, but not so great if you value your privacy. Water available from spigot in center of circle. Dump available. Prairie Flower South has 131 back-in sites with concrete patios and some shade trees. Probably worth reserving if you were going to spend several days. We camped at Prairie Flower Recreation Area COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Emporia RV Park, Emporia, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived about 3:30 on a Friday, and never saw the manager, so we finally did a night check-in. Park is bounded by state highway and turnpike with a railroad nearby; Very noisy and narrow sites . Some sites only had about 4 feet of crab-grass between them. Seemed to be a nice play area on one side, but it had a neglected look along with the rest of the park. Several rigs appeared as if they rented by the year. We camped at Emporia RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cedar Valley RV Park , Guthrie, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Rate was Passport America and included tax. This is a well cared for park with views of the golf course. There is about 20 feet of grass between sites and one 30 foot tree at each site. There is a well appointed laundry at a fair price (no coins, pay in office). It is about 6 miles off I-35 but worth the trip. We camped at Cedar Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ingebretson Park, Thornton, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

RV sites are in the northeast corner of the park and easy to miss if coming from I-35. Park would be on your left and the only signs are inside the park itself. Long gravel sites surrounded by grass. Shared hook-ups,but plenty of room between sites. We were the only ones here. Well cared for. No water even to fill tank. Quiet. Good value for the money. We camped at Ingebretson Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park on ocean bay. Lots of tall trees. Rate is for seniors. Sign posted warning about ants. We were parked on concrete and didn't think we had to worry. Trailer was full of ants the next morning. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Abita Springs RV Resort , Abita Springs, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is Coast to Coast. Wi-Fi not free. One of the prettiest parks we've been in. Looked like lots of improvements were taking place. We are Western Horizon members, but couldn't get in as such because we didn't have a reservation. We camped at Abita Springs RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Conroe / Thousand Trails, Willis, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects our membership dues . We have camped here before and the only improvements we could see that they have made are 50 amp sites. There are so many now that it's hard to find a site that you don't have to pay extra for. In the area with the 30 amp sites the roads were full of potholes and the sites were full of ruts. We camped at Lake Conroe / Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Oakzanita Springs, Descanso, California

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Narrow roads, steep grades and lots of obstacles to maneuver around. Very nice people. Thousand Trails membership park. Wi-Fi was weak but usable for e-mail etc. Not for the faint of heart with a big rig. We were in a 30 foot fifth-wheel and it was scary, but bigger rigs than ours were in here. We camped at Oakzanita Springs in a Fifth Wheel.

Pilot Knob RV Resort, Winterhaven, California

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The first thing to remember is that they are on Mountain Time even though they are in the Pacific Zone. We arrived a few minutes after 3 p.m. and the office was closed and the gate was closed. We sat there blocking traffic on the road and finally took the chain off the gate and went through (we had reservations). The Security Guard then came running and yelling not to do that. He eventually checked us in, but we couldn't get WiFi until the next morning. Also he would not give us a site until we went out to the trailer and brought in the sewer chemical container so he could see it. The pull-through site we were given was so narrow we had to run over the patio to get into it (so did our neighbor). Highway and train noise is very evident. We stayed one night using Coast to Coast. We camped at Pilot Knob RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Valley RV Resort, Tijeras, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

It is an older campground with minimal maintenance. Half the washers & half the dryers were out of order, but you could wash and dry for about $1.50. There is an impressive library. Sites are close together. The park is over 6000 ft. Our rate was Coast to Coast. The entrance is difficult to spot. You drive up a steep drive on the left side of a gas station. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
