Cordes Junction Motel and RV Park, Mayer, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night on our route 17 South from Flagstaff to Tucson. Check in was fast and Friendly!! 50 amp power was stable, pull through site was plenty long for our 42' RV plus towed vehicle. No cable, but there are so many strong over the air signals, it didn't matter. WiFi was reliable. We would definitely stop by here next time we travel I-17. We camped at Cordes Junction Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Went next door to 50's Diner. Didn't stay for dinner because we had leftovers in our RV, but went to the bar to have a drink and watch a little football. AWESOME service, generous pours and GREAT service.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 5 nights using Passport America which gave us an excellent rate of $24 per night. Check in was fast and friendly. We are a "big rig" and site was very easy to get into and out of. Note: check in is across the street! You need to arrive via Franklini Street (check Google maps, it's easy!) Electric was stable. Cable worked well. WiFi was great during the off times, iffy during peak times. Overall, it was "good". Two complaints... the laundry room was very busy. Some of the patrons were hotel guests that were told to shuttle over! That's just wrong. RV'ers depend on laundry facilities and should not have to share a small laundry room with hotel guests. Another "complaint" was the train noise. I know they came barreling through every morning at 6am blowing their horns. It was okay for us since we had to be "up and at 'em". But forewarned is forearmed! Just be aware that the train whistles are loud here! We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Motorhome.

Golden Spike RV Park, Brigham City, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a tough park to rate. We recognize that the owner takes great pride in the park so we give it 4 stars for cleanliness. But the park is very tight. This makes big rig maneuverability difficult. The sites are close together with strips of grass in between. So to even get into the front door of our rig, we had to walk in wet grass (site was so narrow, there was not even a strip of gravel to put our welcome mat out and it was made clear to us at check in to put NOTHING on the grass). We were also told to park our car in the street if our site was too short. Management was a bit rude. LOTS OF BARKING DOGS! The whole experience was just too big of a hassle for a one-night passing through. Park might work well for others, but we would not stay here again. We camped at Golden Spike RV Park in a Motorhome.

OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park to be an excellent value using the Passport America rate. Easy big rig access. Wifi was reliable. Lots of cable channels. Nice laundry room (1.75 wash, 1.50 dry). Free coffee in lobby and a small book & magazine swap.

The park is dry and dusty and I imagine if it was windy or rainy it could be a real mess. This is not really the campground's fault... hey it's Utah!! But we had perfect weather and don't have a dog, so that dusty gravel wasn't a problem for us.

Check in was super friendly and the location was off 191 which was convenient.

Only stayed 2 nights, wanted to stay longer but they were booked solid! Would definitely stay here again. We camped at OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables in a Motorhome.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a huge dusty parking lot with lots of gravel, little shade and no grass. So why 4 stars? For an overnight, it is easy, easy, easy! We are a 42' motor home with tow so we appreciate that. The longest pull thru we have ever had. Lots of cable channels. Fast reliable wi-fi. Used the laundry room... $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry. Didn't use the restrooms but took a peek - they were really old.

We would definitely stay here next time if passing through. Not a destination park, but great for an overnight. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Three Flags RV Park, Black Hawk, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a simple, clean, quiet campground fairly close to the interstate. The only noise was one train that passed through in the early evening. We have a 42' coach and it was super easy getting in and out of the park with our tow vehicle. There is a gravel road leading into the park, but it's not bad so don't be put off by it!

You couldn't ask for nicer management. As another reviewer mentioned, we were given the digital cable converter box without signing for it or anything. The manager also briefed us on the potential for a bad storm that evening and explained the process if there were tornado warnings/sirens. (Thankfully the storm was uneventful.)

Tip: when we called to reserve, the few 50 amp sites were taken so we reserved a 30 amp and hoped for the best. Fortunately the weather cooperated and we didn't have to run all our a/c's. But if you MUST have 50 amp, call early and reserve!

Will definitely stay here again if passing through the area. We camped at Three Flags RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hill's RV Park & Campground, Plankinton, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The good: Close to interstate and only $20 with Passport America.

The bad: Although we felt safe, the park is kind of trashy looking with many permanent trailers. There is a pool, but it was overrun by families and kids that live here, so not a place to relax after a long day of traveling. The biggest problem was the 50 amp power pedestal. The readings in our coach showed a large voltage imbalance between the 2 lines. We mention it in this review since it can be an indication of an open neutral or bad wiring, so just be aware of the potential for problems.

Despite the low price, we would not stay here again. We camped at Hill's RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We love this campground and always stop here when traveling through the area. We summer in Montana and this is our 3rd visit here. It is right off the interstate and very big rig friendly for easy in and out. Despite being near the interstate, it's quiet! And there is a restaurant within walking distance.

The showers are super clean and modern. The campground hosts are always watering to keep the grass green. It's not a fancy park, but nicely kept and great for a night or two.

We paid the extra $3.00 for cable since we don't have satellite. The channel list is 32 channels, so not real extensive but it works fine.

This is not a resort by any stretch, but it's spacious, quiet and the hosts are friendly. Highly recommend. We camped at Indian Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Campground host was very friendly and we were escorted to our site. Although the park wasn't even close to half full, many sites were reserved due to a rally. We were given a site where we backed in and shared a buddy pedestal with the folks behind us who were already parked. Their toad trailer overlapped into our space which normally we wouldn't mind. But it affected our ability to get close to the buddy pedestal. Our hookups were on the wrong (passenger) side and our electric cord and water hose *barely* reached. To add to the frustration, despite being in a gravel "pull thru", the site was very muddy from recent rains. A real mess. Lastly because of the split hookups, using the sewer dump at the site was impractical and we used the dump station on the way out of the park (which was convenient and easy).

There were many sites still empty the next morning and we don't understand why we couldn't have been assigned a more practical site for our 42' motor home. But we were told this was the only site available.

On the plus side, the rate through Passport America was very good at $19.

This is our 2nd time visiting the Amana Colonies and our first stay in their RV park. Because of the impractical buddy hookups and the mud, we would not stay here again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Scenic Road RV Park (55+ park), Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We came to Quartzsite for 3 nights near the end of the season. There was a lot of campground availability, glad we picked this one!! Easy check-in with super nice owner. Golf cart escort to site. Long, level gravel pull-thrus with concrete patio. The electric and water hookups were perfect. Free wifi that not only worked, but it was fast! Looks like many repeat snowbirds here. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were even invited to cake & ice cream at this month's birthday and anniversary celebration. Used the laundry room which was clean and convenient. Only one public bath on site which we didn't use. Would definitely return here when we return to Quartzsite next year. We camped at The Scenic Road RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Cochise Terrace RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful, well managed park! We only stayed one night but were really impressed. Check-in was friendly and efficient. We were escorted to our long, level pull-through site. We were near the "Crow's Nest" (clubhouse) which gave us a decent (free) Wi-Fi signal. When we checked in, we were told that they serve a small evening meal in the Crow's Nest and we were given a coupon for 2 free dinners... chicken wraps and a free soda or coffee or bottled water. Such a nice touch! Our P.A. rate represents about a 30% discount off the regular nightly rate. Would definitely return if in the area. We camped at Cochise Terrace RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Mission View RV Park (55+ park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This park honors the Passport America rate for an entire week, so we stayed 7 days @ $19 per night, which was a great deal! The park is a mix of park models, some permanent residents, lots of winter visitors, and "just passing through", like us. The site was level, power and water were fine. The sites are gravel and each has a concrete patio. All are back-ins. We were escorted to our site. Some sites were kind of tight width-wise, situating the rig between the concrete patio and the sewer. So if this is a concern for you, you might want to preview your site. The interior roads are wide, so that's not an issue. This is not a "resort level" park, but they have a great clubhouse with an indoor pool and hot tub, billiards, library and community area. Lots of activities and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We'd actually consider returning for an extended winter stay. The laundry room was a bargain at $1.00 wash and $.75 dry. Park is located in south Tucson, so a bit of a drive into the main part of Tucson, but a nice compromise if you want to head south to Benson, Tombstone, etc. We camped at Mission View RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Triple T RV Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We originally booked for one week but extended our stay to 10 days while we took care of some business in the area. What a great stay! As another reviewer mentioned, there was some staff turnover but the owner's wife was on the scene and was as nice as could be handling things. We have a 42' motor home plus tow, and the site was long and level. This is no fancy RV resort, but it offers a lot for the money. There is a converted house on the property that houses the laundry, fitness room, and about seven PRIVATE bath/showers. We didn't use the private showers, but thought the concept was great. The "lodge" area has a fireplace with big screen television that has many satellite channels. There's a billiards table and ping pong table, plus a table that could be used for a card game or jigsaw puzzles. There's also a library for swapping your books. Also, there's a large kitchen/dining area. We kept saying "this place would be great for rallies!" The free wifi actually worked, the cable television only had the most basic channels but was included in the price. We did see a nice pool and hot tub area which we did not use. The park is a little off the beaten bath, but we liked the country feel and found it no problem to make the short drive into Kerrville. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Triple T RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Peach Country RV Park, Stonewall, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park and a lot of spots were occupied by full-timers and "Winter Texans". Everyone was friendly and helpful. The clubhouse has an ice cream social on Sundays, this is a friendly bunch! Park is easy to get to and navigate, and very conveniently located about halfway between Fredericksburg and Johnson City. There are two popular Mom & Pop restaurants within walking distance and lots of winery tours nearby. We had a nice long pull thru. Lot was level, electric and water pressure were fine. There was no television cable and we were able to pull in only a few channels with over the air antenna and those could be hit or miss. Laundry was 2 washers and 2 dryers located in a small room outside the office. Cost was only $1.00 each and was on the honor system... leave your money in the envelope or at the office, no quarters required. Very handy! Lot was level, electric and water pressure were fine. We stayed for 10 days during which time the Wifi worked great until the day before we left. A big rig pulled in next to us and that seemed to affect the wifi signal. Our fulltimer neighbors at the park told us they experienced this all the time. It seems like it would be an easy thing for mgmt to fix. Other than that, great park, would definitely return! The daily rate shown is based on a weekly discount. We camped at Peach Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mr. D's RV & Camper Park, Ozark, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night on our way to Florida. The owner could not have been friendlier or more helpful. When we pulled in (with our Class A and toad), she was waiting for us and showed us to our site. We had a nice long pull-through site and left our tow vehicle hooked up. Wi-Fi and cable TV worked just fine. Park did have some road noise and helicopter noise from nearby Ft. Rucker, but everything was quiet when it was time to sleep. We'll definitely stay here again when passing through the area. We camped at Mr. D's RV & Camper Park in a Motorhome.
