Tucumcari is desert like but does cool down a lot at night. Bring a fan for the cabins as the a/c needs a little help! Don't forget to bring your own bedding. Good value, clean, staff is okay. Showers and RR are clean. Store is relatively well stocked. We stay here on the way to and from Colorado in a cabin so we don't have to set up our folding camper for only 1 night, better than a hotel and cleaner for the price.

Was a pretty good place. HOT here, store was okay, staff was pretty good, restrooms were pretty good, well kept up, security was visible. It's pet friendly, and close to many attractions. Some sites had good shade part of the day. On the edge of town and not noisy, thats a plus! Close to Wal-Mart, grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants so that is also nice. 7.3 miles from Mesa Verde entrance. 45 minutes from Durango.

I had camped here about 28 years ago and had great memories and was not disappointed! The staff was the most helpful, and curious of any campground ever! There was a lot to do, music entertainment on the weekends, a well stocked store, lots of trees, 2 restrooms/shower houses on the property. Even massage therapists were available at a very reasonable rate! It is a bit more expensive than other campgrounds $2-3 per night to be exact but the amenities, atmosphere, security, grounds were well worth it! They even had jeeps for rent to use on the passes! The owners were the absolute best! A beautiful stream run right through the middle of it all. Already have reservations for next July! We loved it! And no there are absolutely $0 extra charges for use of showers, gesh! Plus they do have a game/laundry room and hot tub. Best place we ever stayed! Scouts honor!
