Donegal Campground, Donegal, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Fall camping in Penna means chilly, wet weather and falling leaves. Donegal Campground is easy to find. The owner is as sweet a person as you'd ever meet and lives in a doublewide right on the premises. Wifi is limited but cable, water, sewer, electric were all in excellent working order. The owner takes you to your pull through site and helps guide you in - perfectly level! Bathrooms and showers are close by, clean and comfortable to use. Some permanent sites up on the hill and somewhat secluded. Great restaurant with duck pond close by. Verizon and T-Mobile phones worked fine at this campground. We will definitely camp here again in 2017. We camped at Donegal Campground in a Motorhome.

Raccoon Creek State Park, Hookstown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here many times - always F loop for dog. Bathroom cleaned twice a day, older military style fixtures and skylights to keep costs down but clean and efficient restrooms and showers conveniently located. Dishwashing stations are great. This is a great park for tents, tent pop ups and smaller travel trailers. Sites are not level and pads are small but plenty of room between sites. Great hiking trails and nice lake to swim in. Very quiet, wooded sites but airport is close by. Jets didnt bother us. Weekend movies and shows for kids and playgrounds. Walking paths for dogs. No sewer or water at site but dump station clean and easy to access. Potable water is from springs and makes the best coffee! Verizon phone limited, T-mobile not at all. Several digital TV stations near by. Senior discount and a few ADA sites. We camped at Raccoon Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The trails at Raccoon are rated Moderate to Experienced. Check out the fresh water spring. There is also a wild flower garden and the rangers put on shows for the kids at the amphitheatre.
