Long Camp RV Park, Kamiah, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The park was pretty empty and we were given a wifi password but not the name of the server. We never did figure it out and the camp host wasn't in the office on a regular basis, so we could not ask for the name of the wifi server so we could get connected.

The water connection for that site is not on the same side as the electric or sewer so make sure you have a long enough hose.

We probably won't come back here. We did let our dogs swim in the river behind our site. We never got logged into the wifi, which was very frustrating. The manager left a note on the door for anyone to take any spot and of course the third person in for the day didn't park in the middle between the two of us on the ends. (The whole park to choose from and they park next to us) We camped at Long Camp RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground, Willard, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We used this as a base because we like state parks. The road noise is very loud. We loved the covered picnic tables at each campsite. We have Verizon and had no problem with service. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A lot of permanent residents and the wifi was very spotty. I kept getting booted off. Frustrating for sure. We camped at A-Frame RV Park (formerly Oregon Trails West RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Heyburn State Park - Hawley's Landing - Plummer, Plummer, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Really liked this park. It is nice and shady! There were mosquitoes when we were here but we put up our screen room over the picnic table and were fine. The park roads are a bit narrow with lots of trees so it could be difficult for those with huge rigs. We were in a pull-through, space 34. I like that this is less expensive than Washington State Parks! We would have rated this a ten if there was no road noise. We camped at Heyburn State Park - Hawley's Landing - Plummer in a Travel Trailer.

Dash Point State Park, Federal Way, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here only one night and this campground appears to be old and run down. Our picnic table was covered in green algae and had a chunk out of the corner. We had a pull through site so we did have privacy on one side but the spots are pretty close together. Dogs were barking, radios blaring, etc. We won't be back. Also, this park is set in the middle of a residential neighborhood which is kind of strange, and didn't exactly give me a feeling of safety. We camped at Dash Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pearrygin Lake State Park, Winthrop, Washington

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

There isn't much privacy between sites, but the sites are nice and large! We were there off season and were able to have our dogs swim in the lake, not sure if they could do that during the busy time of year. The park is quiet and there are lots of birds and wildlife to enjoy. We used the park as a base to do some day trips into Twisp and Winthrop. We would definitely come back again! We stayed in the East campground. We camped at Pearrygin Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Leavenworth / Pine Village KOA, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 6 nights and loved it! The park was fairly empty, which I believe is what made our stay as enjoyable. I do believe the sites are close together, and I do not think I would enjoy being sandwiched in so much, but again, the park was empty, so it was lovely! We were able to take our three dogs to the fenced in dog run, and that was nice for the dogs. But: and this is NOT a complaint about the park as much as it is about other dog owners. I picked up ODP (other dog's p-waste) every single time I took my dogs there. And I do mean every time. The park provides doggy bags and a trash can right by the dog park, so I cannot fathom why someone won't pick up after their dog. I do NOT want my dog tracking ODP into my travel trailer! Really people: pick up after your dog. If you cannot, then please do not bring them with you. The Wenatchee River runs by the camp. We walked our dogs down there and they were able to play in the river, too! All in all, a very nice place to camp. If you have a family and want to come here in the summer I would recommend it, as I understand there are many activities for families. One item that prevents us from giving this park a 10 is that the fire "pits" they provide are WAY too small to have a camp fire. They provide free firewood if you cut it yourself, which we did, but you have to make a fire in the grills. Just doesn't work well. The more expensive sites come with a fire ring. The park staff is getting ready for the summer season, which includes providing a paved patio for almost every space. Nice, but I'm not sure it is totally necessary. Because of the space we were in (#17), and the length of our TT, the door to our trailer wasn't even on the paved section, so that was kind of inconvenient. Again, I'd recommend this park to families in the summer, and to those without children BEFORE school lets out! We camped at Leavenworth / Pine Village KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Grande Hot Springs Resort (formerly Eagles Hot Lake RV Park), La Grande, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here on an overnight stay over both on the way to Yellowstone and on our return. Very friendly staff, 24 hour laundry room, and pet friendly. The grounds are well maintained. If we ever found ourselves in La Grande again, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Grande Hot Springs Resort (formerly Eagles Hot Lake RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Twin Falls / Jerome KOA, Twin Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very pet friendly, which we appreciate since we travel with 3 labs. There is a fenced pet area for the pets, too. The negatives are that the sites are EXTREMELY close to one another. So much so that we were very happy we were only staying one night, both on the way to our destination and on the way home. If there was more room in the sites I would have given this a higher rating. We were also able to use our Good Sam discount, which reduced the rate from $37.42 to $34.65 per night. We camped at Twin Falls / Jerome KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here while visiting Yellowstone. The camp hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We travel with 3 labs and were told that our dogs could access the lake from anywhere in the park, which we appreciate! They also have a small fenced pet area which is perfect for taking dogs to do their "business." One day we rented a small fishing boat so we could go for a lake ride. The staff was VERY helpful getting us fitted with life jackets, etc. We would most definitely camp here again. We camped at Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina in a Travel Trailer.

Champoeg State Heritage Area, Newberg, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Loop B, which has the full hookup spots. The camp seems to be very popular on weekends with families with small children, lots of bikes, dogs, etc. We do travel with dogs, so we are very dog friendly. There is an off leash dog area quite a bit away from Loop B. When we stayed, there was a male pheasant walking around the campground! We got some good pictures of him, and it appears he is not so shy around humans, although he doesn't come close. We would camp here again, but I do wish that Loop B could be planted with some trees or bushes so that the spots would be somewhat private. I would have given the park a higher rating if the sites were more private. We camped at Champoeg State Heritage Area in a Travel Trailer.

Kah-Nee-Ta Resort & Spa, Warm Springs, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I would have given this a 10 if all the RV sites were available. Some of them were under construction. Having said that, it appears that they are in the process of improving the sites with pavers. Also, would have given this a 10 if we had a fire ring option with our site choice. We received the reduced rate because of the date of our stay. The park was almost empty, which was great for us as we travel with 3 labs. Our site backed up to an incline that bordered the creek. The dirt is red clay and you don't want to get that on your shoes, or paws! There are lovely trees, but do not offer any shade. There is a shuttle service to the lodge and casino if that is something to check out. We would stay again, but only if it is in the off season. There is also security personnel in the RV area, which is nice. We camped at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort & Spa in a Travel Trailer.

Icicle River RV Park, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

If we weren't traveling with our dogs I would have given this park a 10 rating. After informing the staff that we have three dogs, they assigned us to site 29-30, with the warning that we have to make sure our dogs wouldn't disturb others. Once we got all set up we realized that they put us on a very busy corner in the park. Sitting outside was a challenge because every time our dogs saw another pooch walk by, which happens frequently, our dogs would bark. The park was fairly empty so I have no idea why the staff thought that spot would work for us, except that perhaps they don't travel with dogs. This park is maintained beautifully and kept very clean, and the bathrooms are clean and they have a nice laundry facility. We wouldn't stay here again unless we made sure we had a VERY private site so we could just relax without worry about someone walking by every five to ten minutes. We camped at Icicle River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
