Homer Spit Campground, Homer, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Pricey park on the spit. When we checked in they said that the "ocean view" row was the second one back from the beach, elevated and cost more. The front row was dry camping and the attendant said that normally the tent campers get those spots. As it ended up the front row was filled with Class C units that created a solid wall of RVs and blocked our ocean view. We camped at Homer Spit Campground in a Motorhome.

Seward Waterfront Park, Seward, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Terraced sites where the front row is on the water. The pay system is via an electronic pay station. You just pay for a site, then you go find an open one. They only check license plates to see if someone has paid. You have a small tag that says the site is occupied and if you pull out during the day it is possible that your occupied tag suddenly disappears and someone else is in you site upon your return. When someone leaves on the front water row it creates a mess as everyone tries to get the spot. We camped at Seward Waterfront Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park. Tour drivers pick you up in the park. We used the free city bus that stopped next to the office. Fred Meyer is within walking distance if you do not have a car. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Motorhome.

Golden Nugget RV Park, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Tight spaces. In town park but pricey, as are all other parks in Alaska. Access gate is open and there are casual, non-registered drivers through the park at hours. We camped at Golden Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sunscape RV Resort, Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice older 55+ park that the management is trying to renovate. Pickle ball courts are nice and well used. The park is installing new shuffleboard courts which we will use on the next trip. Front gate staff woman was not friendly and told only the bad stuff about management. Apparently she didn't like management and was venting at everyone. There is a lot of small town politics going on that spreads over to short time visitors. We were there during the Park's Party which was food and games. The Golf Cart Races and game activity were fun. We assumed that we were not included in the party until a resident from Virginia drew us in and made us part of the fun. We will return during the Park's Party next year. We camped at Sunscape RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Whispering Woods RV Park, Wyandotte, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This new campground at the Indigo Sky Casino (Old Border town Casino). This new CG and Casino is on US 60 at Hwy. 43 just inside Missouri. It is all new, the sites are huge and level. Free laundry room. Security rides through often but they are really not needed in this safe area. Very convenient to get to the CG and great facilities. We will stay here again as we cross the USA. We camped at Whispering Woods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Quinebaug Cove Campground, Brimfield, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Two motor homes pulled in and attendant assigned a "pull-thru" on the top of a 25 degree hill. Motorhomes don't climb in 4 wheel drive. Reassigned second back in site. 30 amp power was actually 109 volts with 16 amps. Surge protector did its job and protected the rig. Next site was back in with 111 volts and 12 amps. We demanded a refund of the security deposit and site charge, after much screaming we got our refund, without owner/managers assistance, and left the park. This place should be rated -10 on all scales. Do not go to this park. We camped at Quinebaug Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

North Landing Beach Riverfront Campground and Resort, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here with a Good Sam Club. The pool was so cloudy and dirty that you could not see your feet. The pool test employee did not check the water on Saturday morning. The pool was full of unsuspecting people who thought the water was safe. In mid afternoon a person did test the water: the pH was way high and all other readings were out of tolerance. The pool technician did nothing to correct the pool water: said that chemicals would be added in the evening after the pool was closed. Not safe. We camped at North Landing Beach Riverfront Campground and Resort in a Motorhome.

Turkey Swamp Park, Freehold, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Went to New Jersey and needed a cg to stay in while visiting family. The Turkey Swamp county park was a real challenge for us to get in there. A pre-arrival call to the cg office revealed that there would be no problems for us to fit our 35" motorhome into anyone of their sites. Upon arrival, and after checking in, we were directed to area "B" which was their best pull thru section. The roads to get to the office, Section "B", and the assigned site were very close with very low overhead branches. It appears that the county just went through with a bulldozer and dropped just enough trees to make the road. I had to stop, reverse and then go forward several times to maneuver around a tree-lined bend in the road. Nice place but very low overhead and tight roads. Be skeptical if your rig is longer than 35' and taller than 12'. We came out with several scratches from branches on the sides and top of the rig. We camped at Turkey Swamp Park in a Motorhome.
