Another great stay at Beaver Dam. Our site was perfect, great location, full hook up, plenty of space and nice stone pad to park on. Scenic View Campground, Warren, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

I really like it hear, it is a nice little campground with a pool and splash pad. Office staff was great each and every time we entered the store. Other campers were very friendly an nice which always makes it nice. Being a holiday weekend we found the place to be very quiet which was great. Also our pull through site was very large, long and wide with bushes between sites. On the negative side for us, maybe not everyone, there is little to no cell service in the area and we know this going in. When this situation happens we rely on WiFi and cable. Unfortunately not all full hook up sites have cable and the cable sites were taken when we booked back in Feb. The WiFi was weak and not working for a good paper of the weekend. They told us at checkin that it would be slow since the park was full. If any one of these three were available it would have been better. My wife said on the way home that there are enough great campground with all three so she will not be in a rush to return which is too bad since it is a nice place otherwise. We camped at Scenic View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Wakeda Campground, Hampton Falls, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

For us one benefit of this campground is it is close to home and easy to get to. Another benefit is the staff and owners are very nice. We had a site that we have had in the past, D10. We like the site but one suggestion would be to move the fire pits 10-20 feet closer to the road. Current locations put the fire very close to your camper and your neighbors camper. We had our grandson and we used the playground for the first time, he loved it. I am sure we would camp here more often if they had a pool but there are plenty of other places that have pools. We had our own Verizon hotspot for WiFi which worked fine and just a side note, there is no cable here. We do love the campground but we enjoy the extras that some other place offer as well. Final thought, be sure to follow the direction to your site that the office shows you, going your own route can lead to some very tight corners that you might have to back out of. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Opening weekend for them and we were the only non-seasonal there Friday night. Made it super quiet for sue. Check in was easy, staff was great, WiFi was upgraded so it was fine for us, not sure how it will be with more campers. The pool area was open but we did not use it. We really like the set up of this campground with the seasonals with their area and the transients with their area. It was a nice weekend, we enjoyed the campground and the area and we will return. We camped at Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hemlock Grove Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first time out this year and first time camping here. We are very happy we camped at Hemlock Grove. This is a beautiful campground. Many times when you camp on an opening weekend the place is not really ready but Hemloch Grove looked like it was in mid season form. The grounds were clean an neat and looked great. The sites are large and very level. All connects were very good and there were plenty of cable channels. The WiFi worked great for us. As our kickoff weekend we really just had plans to sit and relax if everything was set to go and since we had no repairs to make we did just that. I loved their wood as it varied in size and burned real nice. I cannot say enough about this campground or the owners/staff that we dealt with. We will return for sure. We camped at Hemlock Grove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Meredith Woods, Meredith, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay here and there were both great things and bad things so it is hard to put a number on it. First impression was influenced partly because we arrived after dark. Check in was ok but we questioned our site as we were put on a seasonal site and we were told that we will love our site and location. Well that turned out to be a big negative for us. First off we had our 2 year old grandson with us and we were so far from the pool that we had to drive there when there were great sites near the pool. Also the site was full of junk so backing in in the dark was interesting on the thin street. There were 2 picnic tables as one was rotting away so why was that still there. Also there were hoses, electric cords and cable cords left on the site and wrapped around the hook ups and finally a pile of dirt just left on the site. Take this away and clean things up and the site is large and private with a great fireplace like all the other sites. The final issue with the site and we asked about it at check in, once we booked here, we brought 5 other couples there all staying for less time than us. They were all put together but we were clearly across the campground no where close to all our friends. We do not know why they did this but this really put a damper on our stay there. Most likely would never plan a group event here again. Other items to mention, you have to pay for internet which we have never had to do before, that would have been ok but if you pay it needs to work for the time you paid for but it would just disappear from time to time. The hot tub does not look appealing as it is very stained from the water I guess and the floor and seats are very rough and actually hurt you feet getting in and out. Now the good stuff, as I said, the site are large, private and have great fireplaces. The indoor pool is nice, we were alone everyday except our last day. The interior roads are nicely paved. So there is good with the bad here. We camped at Meredith Woods in a Travel Trailer.

Fransted Family Campground, Franconia, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We returned to Fransted but left the trailer at home. We love the look of the sites along the river so much that we wanted to tent camp to use the sites. It was my wife's first time in a tent and the weekend was a success. The sites are plenty big enough for your tent, parking and anything else you need. The fire pit was a nice distance from the tent and truck. This campground is beautiful and it is so quiet that we just heard the river day and night, a great sound to fall asleep to. We camped with our sons and our daughter was able to visit during the day. We generally do not use the bathrooms but we found the bathhouse and showers to be very clean and bug free which was nice. As I have said in the past, the owners are great and run a nice, clean quiet campground which is just what we are always looking for. We find Fransted to be very relaxing and know we have nothing to worry about when we are there. We so look forward to our return next year. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Tent.

Old Stage Campground, Madbury, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Another great Labor Day weekend. I guess I could copy and paste the review from last year. Really enjoyed sitting at the fire listening to the DJ. This year we had 4 sites but there was a mix up on our sons site, not sure if it was our son's mistake or the campgrounds but they did everything possible to fix it which they did and they made sure they were taken care of which was great, we really enjoy everything about this campground. We had a lot of rain on Sunday but the owners had some back up plans and were able to entertain the kids which was nice. The wifi is weak but in the end, we do not camp to use the wifi... We are booked for next year already in our favorite site. We camped at Old Stage Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Boston / Cape Cod KOA, Middleboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

It was an interesting stay this time around. Great campground with a ton of kids all having a great time which is good. They live on the 2 bouncy pillows which was fun to watch. As others have said, a lot of activities for the kids. The pool was very enjoyable but seems to be showing it's age as some repairs are needed but the water was great. The staff was friendly and the store was nice with most anything you would need. What made this stay interesting was a few of the rules or what should be rules were not followed. We have been camping for 27 years and have never seen so much cutting through sites, it is totally out of control. First we thought it was just the kids but then the parents started cutting through as well. There is a path for them to use but maybe it is not marked well. Constant cutting between trailers, between fire pits and trailers, it was just unbelievable. This is a huge pet peeve and it really takes away from the experience. Next was the non stop uncontrollable dog barking. All day and night and nothing is done about it. Most campgrounds would tell people they have to take their dog out but it went on and on. The final thing that bothered me was when I saw kids driving golf carts, talk about an accident waiting to happen. If we decide to return we will need to stay in another area I guess. We camped at Boston / Cape Cod KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Finally made it here and sure wish we had gone sooner. I realize it would not be for everyone but we truly enjoyed our stay. The Campground is all grass and has very few trees, a little more shade would be nice but did not matter to us. The sites are all back in and are good size. The seasonal sites are in their own section and most are great looking sites. The pool complex was great, nice pool, hot tub, kids pool, showers, bathrooms and laundry were all very nice and very clean. The office/store building was beautiful. We found the workers and seasonal campers to be very friendly. All in all we had a great weekend and will return. In addition to the campground, there are plenty of things to do in the area. There was one major negative at Sea Vu West, the wifi is so bad that it might be better without it. We could not even surf the web is was so slow and weak. We were talking about if we would ever be seasonal here, but the wifi has to be better. We camped at Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Green Gate Camping Area & Hall, Exeter, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We went in with high hopes but our bubble was quickly popped. The owner was nice and she helped where she could but there was a lost reservation so check-in took a while. The pool had clear water but the sides and the bottom were very dirty or stained or something, cleaning or painting is needed. The sites were it rough shape as far as them being neat and clean and level. The utilities were fine but the sites needed grading, brush cleared and probably a number of trees removed. Many of the seasonal sites were cluttered and spilling over into neighboring sites. There was a nice entry road and the playground looked nice but that was about it. We were hoping to find a gem close to home and close to the beach but that did not happen. Maybe with a lot of TLC this could be better but to be real good a re-design of some of the sites would be needed. We camped at Green Gate Camping Area & Hall in a Travel Trailer.

Scenic View Campground, Warren, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay here and will not be our last. From check in to the end of our stay we truly enjoyed this campground. We had a site that backed to the brook and the brook led to a river. It is a very quiet, quaint place. It was very peaceful and beautiful. The owners were very nice and they kept the place clean and quiet. We saw one or two patrols at night but there was not much for them to do as everyone was quiet. We were able to enjoy the heated pool which really hit the spot and we also went blueberry picking just down the street. They offer various activities throughout the weekend for those who want to participate. There are a few seasonal's here but they are kind off off on their own in 2 locations of the campground. We checked out the bathrooms to find they were very modern and clean. Our site was plenty large enough and all the connections worked well and were placed in a great location to be used. We enjoyed our stay and will return as there is plenty to do in the area. We camped at Scenic View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Crow's Nest Campground, Newport, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was a hard one to put a number to so I settled on a 7. This is a basic campground that is set up in 2, maybe 3 sections. The front section is a flat field with 4 rows of campers. A somewhat tight area with the outer 2 rows being seasonal for the most part and the middle 2 rows being back in sites that seemed real short, those with a long trailer did not seem to be able to park on the site. The back section was where we were, it is a circle with the inner part being full hook up and the outer section being water and electric. In addition, there was another road that had 8-10 tent sites with no hook ups. This area had trees, was more spacious and had a little privacy. There is a small section between the front and back with a few pull through's out in the open and a road that had water and electric sites on the river which seemed nice. We enjoyed our time here and found this to be a campground that families liked as there were a number of larger families with a lot of kids running around and riding bikes. The campground offered some fun and unique activities for the kids. The owners here were very nice and friendly. The store had wood and ice etc but did not really look at anything else. We took advantage of the pool which is very nice. The bathhouses were older but very clean. All in all it was a pleasant weekend and we enjoyed what we did. We would stay again if we were in the area or could put together and family gathering at a somewhat central area but not sure we would travel out of our way just to stay here if that make sense. We camped at Crow's Nest Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sandy Pines Campground (formerly Salty Pines Campground), Kennebunkport, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Now called Sandy Pines, there are new owners here. I had never been there before but you can still see what it once looked like as the work is not done. As for the work done so far, all I can say is WOW! Everything here looks amazing from the entry to the office and store to the pool to the sites and the bathhouses. The entire front half of the campground has been done over and the work continues. The sites are all new crushed stone with new bark mulch between the sites. All new fire pits and utilities at the sites which look great. The bathhouse were very nice as well. They are installing campground maps and info boards throughout the campground. The staff was very nice as well and made you feel very welcome. To date they have done a wonderful job on everything. We camped at Sandy Pines Campground (formerly Salty Pines Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This campground has quickly become one of our favorites. The owners are extremely friendly and the campground is clean and beautiful. Staff is out and about making sure everything is picked up and clean. It is very quiet here which is what we look for on many weekends. Peaceful and relaxing is the key to us having a good weekend. The pool was wonderful and the store had everything we needed. The only negative that I can say is that at times the wifi was deathly slow but other than that we had the best time here.
