Bayley's Camping Resort, Scarborough, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

First off, great price for what you get compared to many campground for the off-season. They keep the pools and hot tubs open long after most others are closed. We were able to enjoy the adult pool and hot tubs which was great. Our site was large and backed up to a pond which we like. We were their for the OOB car show which did not disappoint. There was plenty to do but because it was so nice and quiet this weekend we were able to sit and relax which was nice. We have been enjoying Baylee's for many years and will continue to do so. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Red Apple Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay here this year. We love this campground and find the owners and staff to be extremely friendly and helpful and very easy to talk to. We were in a newer transient site this trip and at first it was a bit difficult to get into but on the second try the trailer went right in. We were on the street side and you get a little road noise but other than that it was a great site and the rest of the campground was very quiet as always. Had hope to swim but it was too cold so we mostly sat and burnt wood. We really enjoy the atmosphere and everything this campground offers. There are many seasonal sites here with trailers or park models and we are considering getting on the waiting list for a site. We shall see about that but we will definitely be back next year. We camped at Red Apple Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Old Stage Campground, Madbury, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Another Labor Day weekend and another great time. I guess many do not leave reviews for Old Stage so I will leave another. We had a wonderful time here again in our favorite spot. Sat at the fire enjoying movies and the DJ and all the kids playing, it is so much fun. As always the owners were great hosts and the other campers were as friendly as ever. This year most of our group enjoyed the hayride as I watched unable to participate. This campground is becoming special to us and I will enjoy our return next year. We camped at Old Stage Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The Bluffs RV Resort (50 + Park), Freedom, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a real nice campground with good size sites. We camped here for a weekend to visit friends. We enjoyed our stay and were able to take some golf cart rides, a boat ride and swim in the pool. The pool area was nice except for there was a group of people who kept approaching us and blowing bubbles at us and got mad because we did not get up and join them. I go to the pool to relax and not to be bothered or forced to do things. Other than that it was a beautiful weekend and our site was great with plenty of shade across from the bath house and laundry. We camped at The Bluffs RV Resort (50 + Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Quechee / Pine Valley KOA, White River Junction, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We had a great trip at a great campground. Unlike our last trip here we loved our site this trip. We had a newer deck site which was awesome. Since we were a group of 5 sites plus some visitors, the deck site worked out great. We were the central meeting place and it could not have worked out better. This site and campground has spoiled us for other places. The roads were good, the stone sites were great, the area has lots to offer, everything was just great. We are so glad we picked this area to spend the weekend. We camped at Quechee / Pine Valley KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Kokatosi Campground, Raymond, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This was our third stay here and it is a very basic campground with a good number of seasonal campers who were very friendly. The big draw for us is the beach, lake, boat rentals and the snack bar. We like to rent a pontoon boat to cruise the lake and stop out at the sandbar. In addition, we like to float on our tubes at the beach. The pizza and ice cream at the snack shack is pretty good. They are working to make improvements as we had all new hook ups at our site. New pole, electric, water, cable and I believe sewer. Some sites still need to be upgraded but those that are done were good. Two issues we feel need to be taken care of is 1) our daughter tried to use the bathrooms a couple time and Sade that they were so dirty and old that she was unable to use them. 2) the entrance/guest parking area is such a mess with trailers, dumpsters and junk it just takes away from the overall campground. For now we will keep it on the list but if we find a place with boat rentals we might change where we go. We camped at Kokatosi Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Cold Springs Camp Resort, Weare, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This was a return trip for us but our first trip tenting here. This was our rough it weekend as we left the trailer at home and were tenting with the kids. We had 2 sites and plenty of room for 4 tents. It was raining when we checked in but the sites drained very good so all was good. We selected this campground because of the beautiful pool complex and without AC we wanted to be sure we could swim. We know that this campground is about 70% seasonal and has many golf carts but guessing due to the rain, a lot of seasonals were not there for the weekend. We found the campground to be somewhat quieter than in the past and we enjoyed our time there. We will return but probably with our trailer. We camped at Cold Springs Camp Resort in a Tent.

Bay View Campground, Bourne, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

I love this campground and all it offers. Sites are plenty big for our 35 foot trailer and our F350 leaving room for anything else we want to do. The free WiFi was very good. The staff is very friendly whether in the office, at the pool or out and about cleaning the campground and sites. The campground is very clean and the many seasonal sites are very neat, I like the sites that have crushed shells for driveways. Many seasonals are in the back and there are areas just for renters or pop up campers which is nice. We were able to enjoy ice cream from Clameys and also were able to enjoy the pools on this beautiful weekend. The campground has everything we love in a campground including peace and quiet so we could relax. Always look forward to our trip here. Of our 20 or so trips a year Bay View is a must for us and one of our 3 favorite campgrounds. We camped at Bay View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Red Apple Campground, Arundel, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Another great stay at Red Apple Campground for us. Usually we are here alone but this year there were 7 of us in 2 sites. We had a great time as always. We always fine the owners to be extremely friendly as are the other campers and seasonals. The campground is beautiful and well maintained and the pool is very nice and enjoyable. As expected the campground is very quiet and relaxing. The area has plenty to offer whether it is a trip to downtown Kennebunkport, a ride up the coast or a ride up or down Route 1 and all that has to offer. We will be back as we have booked a site for September as well as a weekend next year. We camped at Red Apple Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Strafford / Lake Winnipesaukee South KOA, Strafford, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Our first time here as a KOA, we were last here just before they changed. This campground continues to amaze me. We have been coming here since 2011 and the changes and upgrades they have made are wonderful. Since our last visit they have updated a number of sites to what KOA seems to like. We had a beautiful pull through site with a cement patio, great fire pit and a beautiful table and chairs. Every part of this campground is very nice. The owners, their kids and the staff are all wonderful and helpful. They make it a very pleasant atmosphere. The weather did not allow us to enjoy the pool area as we had hoped but we just enjoyed our site and burning the wagon of wood that was delivered to our site. We always look forward to our camping experiences here. We camped at Strafford / Lake Winnipesaukee South KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Abel Mountain Campground, Braintree, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Another year and another great stay at Able Mountain. This campground is easy to reserve, easy to check in and east to get into the sites. The sites are level and wide so plenty large enough for whatever you do. The owners and staff are great and they have a very good visitor policy. This is at least our third year there for Fathers Day and our son's birthday. We had a site on the river and lucked out with beautiful weather. It was so relaxing to just sit and enjoy our surroundings. This is an extremely quiet campground and we enjoyed every minute of the peace and quiet. For the first time I was able to try the pool and it was very nice, clean and refreshing. Not sure if we will make it back this year but next year for sure. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Scenic View Campground, Warren, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

I really like it hear, it is a nice little campground with a pool and splash pad. Office staff was great each and every time we entered the store. Other campers were very friendly an nice which always makes it nice. Being a holiday weekend we found the place to be very quiet which was great. Also our pull through site was very large, long and wide with bushes between sites. On the negative side for us, maybe not everyone, there is little to no cell service in the area and we know this going in. When this situation happens we rely on WiFi and cable. Unfortunately not all full hook up sites have cable and the cable sites were taken when we booked back in Feb. The WiFi was weak and not working for a good paper of the weekend. They told us at checkin that it would be slow since the park was full. If any one of these three were available it would have been better. My wife said on the way home that there are enough great campground with all three so she will not be in a rush to return which is too bad since it is a nice place otherwise. We camped at Scenic View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Wakeda Campground, Hampton Falls, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

For us one benefit of this campground is it is close to home and easy to get to. Another benefit is the staff and owners are very nice. We had a site that we have had in the past, D10. We like the site but one suggestion would be to move the fire pits 10-20 feet closer to the road. Current locations put the fire very close to your camper and your neighbors camper. We had our grandson and we used the playground for the first time, he loved it. I am sure we would camp here more often if they had a pool but there are plenty of other places that have pools. We had our own Verizon hotspot for WiFi which worked fine and just a side note, there is no cable here. We do love the campground but we enjoy the extras that some other place offer as well. Final thought, be sure to follow the direction to your site that the office shows you, going your own route can lead to some very tight corners that you might have to back out of. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Opening weekend for them and we were the only non-seasonal there Friday night. Made it super quiet for sue. Check in was easy, staff was great, WiFi was upgraded so it was fine for us, not sure how it will be with more campers. The pool area was open but we did not use it. We really like the set up of this campground with the seasonals with their area and the transients with their area. It was a nice weekend, we enjoyed the campground and the area and we will return.
