Downtown Riverside RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is convenient park right off the interstate, on the banks of the Arkansas river. It's a kind of like a big parking lot with full hookups, but I will say, this place is a great value. All pavement and concrete, easy to navigate through the park, friendly staff and a couple pf grassy areas on either side of the park for dog business. Hook ups were solid and no surprises. We'd stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Downtown Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Branson KOA, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Among the nicest KOA's we've stayed at. Branson is an interesting place and the Branson KOA is a good place to stay while visiting. There is certainly no shortage of things to do, places to eat, and fun people to meet. The caliber of entertainment lands somewhere between Wisconsin Dells and Las Vegas, but this KOA rolls out the red carpet with nice sites and free pancakes every morning. The staff consists of mostly work-campers who totally get it and are really nice to deal with. We'll be back. We camped at Branson KOA in a Motorhome.

Sioux City North KOA, North Sioux City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here quite often on our way south as they are one of just a handful of parks up north still open this late in the year. We hit it on their Halloween weekend. Lots of fully costumed children and half drunk adults, but still quite enjoyable for a 30 degree October evening. Nice to see all the activity and a campground catering to the locals. All hook ups were good. Campground is quite tight for big rigs towing. Probably best to unhook regardless of what they tell you at the office. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Motorhome.

Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nothin' fancy, but it did the trick. We had some business in Red Lodge and needed a place for an overnight stay. We chose Perry's due to it's proximity to the Beartooth Mountains. After unhooking the tow vehicle, we took it on a drive through one of the most scenic routes in America, all the way up to Beartooth pass in Wyoming, and back down to Perry's just outside of Red Lodge. The views were spectacular, and Perry's was a good choice for our overnight stay. Oh, don't forget to bring some cash. Perry doesn't take plastic. We camped at Perrys RV Park and Tent Campground in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very interesting RV Park situated about 10 minutes from West Yellowstone on beautiful Lake Hebgen. Look behind you, mountains. Look ahead, a pristine lake. You are literally surrounded by natural wonders. The roads and sites are gravel but are easy to navigate. All hook-ups are good. We used this park as a base camp for exploring Yellowstone, as we thought a campground in the park would be difficult to get, and most of them may not be able to handle our 45 foot coach. Turns out, we were right. Our stay was post labor day but still the park was jam packed with tourists and RVer's. Nice to see all the interest in our national parks, but I would never try to lumber our coach through the hours of traffic jams and the hilly, winding terrain of Yellowstone national park. But we had to see it (before the volcano blows again ;) Loved the Yellowstone Holiday RV Park! We camped at Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina in a Motorhome.

Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 2nd stay at Elkhorn Ridge. It is maturing into a very nice campground/resort. We had a mini family reunion and stayed a week. 3 of us in RV's, 2 couples in cabins-all in very close proximity to each other, which was nice of the staff to arrange. Everyone in the family was very happy with this location. Spearfish is a gorgeous town and the whole area offers lots of things to see and do. Elkhorn was the perfect site for our family event . We're already talking about doing it all again next year, and Elkhorn Ridge will absolutely be our choice! We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is an interesting park situated right on the banks of the mighty Mississippi river. The "riverside" sites are much more desirable than the sites set back in the trees. Unfortunately, we had one of the dirt sites so we were sweeping out the coach on pretty regular basis-but that's camping! Watching the barges move up and down the river was fun, and with the wide open spaces, this is a dog owners paradise. The park is fairly big and they have plans to add more sites in the near future. Maybe they will invest in the existing dirt sites and add concrete pads, plus paved interior roads. That would make this park exceptional. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Hitchin Post Corral and Campground, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We had one of those surprise mechanical issues while on the road to Pensacola Beach. Our issue occurred at mm 130 on I-10. We found this campground a short 3 miles down the road at mm 133. Prevost Jacksonville was dispatching a flat bed tow the next morning. Jonn and Vonda at Hitchin' Post Campground welcomed us with open arms. The site was level, the power was good, the water was clean. So nice to have found this safe harbor in the storm. Highly recommend this campsite for your I-10 stop overs. They get it. Thank you Jonn and Vonda! We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Motorhome.

West Palm Beach / Lion Country Safari KOA, Loxahatchee, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Typical KOA, but with a wild animal park right next door. What a great attraction. The KOA has paved interior roads, grass and dirt sites with concrete patios. I really can't say they are big rig friendly as they have only a handful of sites for coaches over 40 feet. The park is clean, however I suspect the infrastructure is showing it's age. The 50 amp breaker on the pedestal tripped and the KOA employee blamed our coach for using too much power and quizzed me about how many amps everything draws. I could see he was a bit defensive and was not going to change out the old weak breaker, so we did as he asked and shut down 2 AC units. Too bad. Otherwise, this would have been a better review. We camped at West Palm Beach / Lion Country Safari KOA in a Motorhome.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $215.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here a number of times. Although it is late in the season, we were fortunate to find a premium site just a couple of weeks in advance. Yes, it is getting very HOT, but I must say we are thrilled to be here and nice job on Hurricane Irma recovery Blue Water Key. You would never know what happened here just a few months ago. Owners and management should be proud of what they have accomplished. As I've said before, this is the most tropical place in America-and even though it is an entirely different experience (both the park, and Key West) it is definitely worth your time and money. It really is a one of a kind park, and Key West is a trip, left turn difficulties and all. No shortage of fun things to do and see-and easy to find with a quick google search. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Keys Palms Luxury RV Resort, Key Largo, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $175.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful new park right on the gulf in Key Largo. We decided to spend a couple of days here on our way to Key West, and we had a very favorable experience. The park is quite small, but the sites are fairly big. The landscaping is very well done. The pool and hot tub are situated right by the waters edge and the fishing jetty is a nice touch. Our site looked out on the gulf. Sunsets were spectacular. Paved interior loop with gravel sites. Nice patios and walkways made with pavers. Plenty of dining choices nearby. We camped at Keys Palms Luxury RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cottonwoods RV Park, Columbia, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Neat as a pin! And wonderfully decorated for the season. The people who operate this campground are proud of their facility, and it shows. I will say it is a bit tight for big rigs, sharp turns on interior roads and into campsites, (I will unhook my tow vehicle next time), but they do a very nice job with the acreage they have. Well done Cottonwood campground!

Two ways to get to this campground off the highway. If your GPS takes you past the first exit, don't worry. The 2nd exit will get you there too. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort (Class As Only), Lake Toxaway, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Easily one of the nicest settings in the country. Exceptional high end RV resort. Laid out and landscaped beautifully. Water, rocks, trees, incredible stone work. Golf course, a walkers paradise. The only problem with this place, it's awful to get to. Narrow winding mountain road that seems to last forever. The drive down the mountain will be more enjoyable. This is certainly not an "overnight" park. It's a destination so plan on several days. And get the camera ready. You'll take lots of pictures! Savannah South KOA, Richmond Hill, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large campground about 15 miles south of Savannah. Very convenient off the interstate, and not a bad little trip into Savannah at all. Great staff, paved interior roads with typical KOA gravel sites. The pond is a BIG plus. Fun to watch all the swans and geese. Lots of shade. We lucked out at site 15 so satellite dish worked. A very pleasant place to stay. We camped at Savannah South KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A plus plus plus! Loved this place. Such a nice staff. Perfect little dog friendly beach with umbrellas and lounge chairs. Sites weren't huge, but they fit my big rig and towed vehicle. Gulf Breeze island has a fun Key West feel, and this place fits right in. Oh, did I mention the Blue Angels doing practice maneuvers off to the west? We will be back.
