Stella Mare RV Resort, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

We drove a long way to Galveston hoping it would be a great "destination" type getaway. Stella Mare was a good choice. They are fairly new and still have some growing to do. Sites are HUGE, level and nicely appointed. Once the palm trees grow, this will be a gorgeous park. Unfortunately they are adjacent to some of the dirtiest most disgusting beaches we have ever seen. Not their fault, certainly. We did enjoy the historic section of downtown Galveston and the Rain Forest Pyramid was excellent. If someone would just clean up the beaches, then this would be a superb park in a great area! We camped at Stella Mare RV Resort in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $120.00
Overall Rating:

Exceptional park 3 blocks from the French Quarter. So much to see and do within walking distance. Request site 37. Includes a courtyard surrounded by the sweetest smelling Jasmine. All cobblestone and concrete pads and roads. Sites are level and extremely well kept. Sirens wail quite often so if your rig has thin walls, you may hear the sound of this busy city. We LOVE this place! We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Camp Gulf, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $144.00
Overall Rating:

This park has 4 things going for it. Great staff, and location, location, location. Without the friendly folks who work there and the absolutely gorgeous white sand beach, it would be mediocre at best, and certainly not worth anywhere near the going rate. It's a bit of a circus, absolutely full of families and kids on bikes who will happily zoom right in front of you and your rig so prepare to go very slowly through the park. This is a skinny but deep park on the beach side and they are making money off every square inch. If you own a shoe horn, bring it. It may come in handy getting in and out of your site. And make friends with your neighbors. You will be close throughout your stay. But wow, what a beach! We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $88.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful Class A ownership park on Hilton Head Island. Set back in the trees, it feels a bit like glamping in a tropical rain forest. Sites are well maintained, all interior roads are paved but some corners are pretty tight for us 45 footers. Plenty to see and do in the area and this is a great base from which to explore. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake, Scottsburg, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

A little bit off the beaten path for an overnight stay, but parks are sparse in this part of the country. Sites are big, getting in and out of the park is easy enough. Staff was friendly. Really no complaints. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Raintree Lake in a Motorhome.

Wisconsin Dells KOA, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Interesting 2 level KOA in beautiful Wisconsin Dells. Interior roads are paved, and a little tight for big rigs. We stayed on the upper level with a beautiful view of the fall foliage. Staff was helpful, except the guy who insisted on covering our coach with dust thanks to his obsession with his leaf blower. I'd rather have the leaves on the road, and still have a clean coach. Odd that they would do that to guests. Otherwise, decent campground. All good! We camped at Wisconsin Dells KOA in a Motorhome.

Tower Campground, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Decent park for an overnight stay. One of the few year-round campgrounds in this part of the country, and that's a real plus. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Big rigs, make sure to get instructions for getting into the park to avoid a u-turn that you will not be able to make. We camped at Tower Campground in a Motorhome.

Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Exceptionally well kept rv park at the foot of the Black Hills. All paved. Everything in great condition. Not a fancy rv resort, just very nice. One complaint. Although the sites are big, the pads are way too narrow. Your rig fits on the width of the pad, barely. Your rugs and chairs will be in the grass. Not the end of the world certainly, just surprised that a park of this caliber made that mistake. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $115.00
Overall Rating:

Exceptional setting just a short drive from Key West. Certainly the most tropical place to be in America. It's an ownership park and getting a spot reserved is a little different than normal. Understandable, but if you want to camp in paradise, better start trying to reserve a year out. Tip for visitors, driving around Key West is slow and frustrating. Don't be in a hurry. Just put yourself on island time and relax. Don't miss Duval Street, the sunset celebrations, the butterfly conservatory. Lots to see and do! We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Grand Oaks Resort & Museum, Lady Lake, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

What a pleasant surprise! This park is new and the owners have done a very nice job. 400 plus acres of beautiful pastures, shady lanes, and horses galore! Horse jumping competition the weekend we were here was a real treat! Nice restaurant on site, carriage museum, carriage rides and very pet friendly. Our dogs loved this place as much as we did. Be sure to get specific directions for entering the park as there are numerous entrances but only one for rv's. We will be coming back! We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Two Rivers Landing RV Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Great class A park in a beautiful setting. All paved with concrete pads. Sites are big. Very convenient to all Smoky Mt attractions. We stayed 3 nights on a premium river front site. Not a lot of area to walk the dogs as this park is fairly small, but still a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back. We camped at Two Rivers Landing RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this campground due to its proximity to old Savannah. Savannah didn't disappoint, but this park was a bit of a let down. I will say it is a very unique place. The duck pond and the geese and chickens really gave it a farm feel. The dogs enjoyed watchiing the hundreds of squirrels on the property. But all the sites are out in a big field. No shade, ants everywhere, and no pavement or concrete. We were constantly sweeping dirt, sand and ants out of our coach. There was no escaping it. If you like to rough it, this park is just fine. Nice folks and all, but this park was just not our cup of tea. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Aztec RV Resort, Margate, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

It's like being in a foreign country. Out of the 600 plus sites, we were among just a handful of English speaking guests. We found that to be kind of fun. All French Canadians, most of them were very pleasant. One of the nicest parks we've stayed at, certainly the biggest. Its location is not the greatest. One would expect a resort like this to be right on the coast or at least closer to some big attractions, but then it is south Florida, so you can't have everything. We camped at Aztec RV Resort in a Motorhome.
