Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA, Sallisaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay. Easy access for 44' coach from the interstate. The staff that checked us in was friendly and helpful. The sites were very close, but it was too hot to sit outside. The pool looked inviting, but there were also many kids in it so we didn't try it out. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at Tom Sawyer. This time we stayed on paved pull thru facing the Mississippi River it was worth the few extra bucks. Site was level with some shade, but no grass, though is plenty of grassy areas nearby. No problems with utilities. However, the site next to ours did not have water. We were told it was closed, and surprised when someone pulled in, and then proceeded to share our water. The view was great. We have a 44' motorhome, and towed. Easy access, and easy check in. Good location to downtown Memphis. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown area; Beale Street, and the Riverfront are fun. We always enjoy Gus's Fried Chicken when were there, but I would avoid it on the weekends. It was very crowded, with a wait.

Safe Harbor RV Resort at Elm Hill, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Nice new park on a big lake. All sites concrete with a brick fire ring. Park is on a hill, but all the sites were level. A little close for backing in a big rig. All utilities, including cable, worked well. I think it would have been nice if they had more flowers, and grass. But, each site did have a little patch of grass. I would have rated it higher, but its too expensive for what you get. They have a place for people to park, and launch boats, and a small dock for short term use. We enjoyed the pool. Everyone was friendly and it was fairly peaceful, with nice views of the lake. They need to add a little camp store in the office, for convenience. We camped at Safe Harbor RV Resort at Elm Hill in a Motorhome.

Not far from downtown Nashville. Checked out huge shopping mall, Opry Mills. Enjoyed sandwiches and guitar singer at the Ship Wreck marina nearby for dinner.

Tana-See Campground (formerly TMC Campground), Newport, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Older park that could use a little polishing. About 1/2 of residents were longtimers. Not far from Interstate, but no traffic noise. Turn into park could be problem for big rig if another rig is in the way, because of on coming traffic on side road. Ladies at check in very friendly and efficient. Our site was gravel and mud, level and very narrow. We couldn't have sat outside, we were so close. Utilities were okay, but cable didn't work; got OTA TV. Didn't use the pool, but saw kids enjoying it. We camped at Tana-See Campground (formerly TMC Campground) in a Motorhome.

Visited Bush's Beans Visitor Center about 7 miles away. Free and interesting. Not too far from Pidgeon Forge/Gatlinburg, but we didn't visit.

Jones Station RV Park, Mebane, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed a brief stay while visiting the Chapel Hill area. Nice quiet park. Check in was great. Everyone we talked to was very friendly. There are many longtimers here, but all the sites are neat and everything is well maintained. Only issues were couldn't connect to the internet, and the power pole was at the front of our pull thru site, our power is on the rear of coach. We camped at Jones Station RV Park in a Motorhome.

Creekside Campground, Deadwood, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access for all rigs off 385 about 6 miles from Deadwood. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The park is very clean with long, level concrete pads full hookup. Also, there were several small cabins. The only reason for not 10 stars is there was no cable, and WiFi is available only at the office. Verizon phone service is spotty. Able to get several channels off antenna though. Fees must be paid by cash or check to keep cost down. We camped at Creekside Campground in a Motorhome.
