Overall Rating:

This park is operated and maintained as a park should be. Beautiful! All sites are level, the staff was great and a nice RV Center is next to the park. All amenities worked great, Wireless strong, electric 110 on all legs and the night was very peaceful. Great Job to the entire staff! We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

DiamondJacks Casino and Resort, Bossier City, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The park is part of the Casino located next to the Red River. A very active Trail Track is just a few yards away, though it does appear they try to maintain the noise level to a minimum, but it is a Train! The cable did not work and the wireless was unavailable. If you are looking for a night or two at the Casino then this is a nice place to visit. If you are a traveler and want a good night sleep you may want to venture elsewhere. I would have rated them higher but the price does not warrant the amenities that they offer. As the staff stated "it is out of her hands"! We camped at DiamondJacks Casino and Resort in a Motorhome.

Southern Living RV Park, Greenwood, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Our biannual visit revealed that this park just gets worse. The sites are in terrible condition, there are only a handful that are close to being level. Still no amenities such as cable, wireless internet, etc. They do have a pool now that may fit five small people at the most. The park is less than half occupied and they are all long term residents. There is no "Clutter" policy in place, they allow items to be accumulated around the sites. The grounds are not maintained, weeds are knee high. During the night both the Train and I-20 road noise make so you must keep the windows closed and the fans on to help drown the issue out. It is obvious that the staff have never traveled before nor have they been around RV's. SO or the meat of the inspection: Sites are not level, Power was borderline (108 on each leg), water pressure was 52#, no Wi-Fi or cable offered. The park has been open approximately two years and the only improvement that has been done is two small white vinyl fence sections with the name of the park on it. The park is set for long term people only; They are not interested nor do they want Over Night Travelers, in their words we are cry baby's and complainers! We camped at Southern Living RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cash Point RV Park , Bossier City, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This will be our last inspection of this park! It is obvious that it will never change. There is a new Black Top road into the property but the park it self is beyond words. We inspect hundreds of parks a year and this one is on the top of the list of being the worst of the worst. The new owner and managers are not experienced in operating an RV Park. They allow very old and ran down RVs in the park with large amount of clutter to be stored around the site. It is obvious that the previous owner passed on the bad habits. All sites are in very bad condition, the electric connections are old and worn. There was no wireless signal, no cable and the park stunk of sewer gas. Both the laundry room and bathrooms are in bad condition and should be condemn. I read a previous review rating this park above a half star, I assure you that either this person is on staff here or they rated the wrong park. The entire park needs to be leveled and start all over! The only thing missing here is the faint noise of a Banjo and guitar playing in the back ground, they have the river! We camped at Cash Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Miss Ellie's RV Park, Waskom, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

As inspectors we look at a variety of things. The site was level but very muddy from recent rains. The wireless was weak if it worked. Power was adequate and the staff was helpful if you can locate them, the office is closed most of the time. The road noise is terrible, even with the fan on! I have suggested a sound barrier wall, but the staff just laughed at me. She stated if the noise bothers you stay elsewhere, I guess she has a point. The park is still 98% Long term, (45 sites with 3 to 5 overnight sites) with a lot of clutter around the RV's, along with several FEMA trailers. The workers leave around 4:30 to 5:00AM and the trucks are loud, as soon as they hit the pavement they floor it, therefore you can tell it is that time. I am concerned that the high scoring reviews on this park show no more than two other reviews on file. That raises a RED Flag! Considering the current condition of the park, I am suspicious. Due to the number of overnight spaces and the overall space count this park does not qualify as a Good Sam Park. As they say Location, Location, Location! This is not the ideal location for an RV Park. We camped at Miss Ellie's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA, Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We travel the lower states to review specific parks. We are driven by point categories and designated questions regarding Park Qualities. This is our third visit to this park over the past three years and I assure you that each time it only gets better! Here is the meat of the review. The site was level, all electrical and cable TV Worked great, the Wi-Fi was strong and the park looked great! The bathrooms and laundry room were perfect Now for what really matters. The staff was nothing short of amazing! When a Bus arrives they make sure the site is ready, they deliver a very nice step to the site so you can wipe our feet. They are well informed about the area and know where to send you for a wonderful meal or evening. But most of all they greet you with a smile, and usually it is the owners that are there for you. You feel as if you are the very best customer, and guess what? YOU ARE! In our assessment the are a 10+ in every category. Keep up the wonderful work and we are excited about returning next year. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA in a Motorhome.

TA Travel Center , Greenwood, Louisiana

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Not sure what has happened to this park, but it has gone down hill like an avalanche! The electrical connections are extremely worn, and the site is in very bad condition. They have allowed RV's to park in the OPEN field in front of the park with blue tarps covering them. Above ground electrical and sewer lines ran to the sites. The park itself is in terrible condition. They have lost the Good Sam endorsement due to the condition of this park. By far one of the largest failures since we have began evaluating RV Parks over 11 years ago. When I approached the staff regarding the issues, they told me they could not care less. The manager stated very clearly that they do not want overnight RVer's. They are a long term park only! We camped at TA Travel Center in a Motorhome.

Sundance High Plains RV Park, Lamar, Colorado

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

By far the worse park we have been to in the past nine weeks on the road. This is not an RV Park, it is a hotel/motel. There are several RV's that line along the exterior fence line. The electrical was terrible. I have read the other reviews, and they are dead on the money. A place that I recommend passing by. When I contacted the owner he was as rude as could be. If you want to stay in a dumpy hotel parking lot then this is the place for you! When I informed the owner we were leaving first thing in the morning he chuckled and walked off. We were staying several days to visit the area historic sites. We will go elsewhere! We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lamar Sportsman's RV Center and Horse Motel, Lamar, Colorado

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A wonderful park located about three miles west of town. The new owner was there, and I was impressed on what they plan to do in the near future. We are here for the next week seeking information on the Santa Fe Trail. Last night we stayed in a park that was far less than desirable! The power here was good, the wireless worked just fine. No exterior noise from the road that is a few hundred yards away. No cable, but the antenna brought in several channels. We have truly enjoyed ourselves! I believe this is going to be a wonderful park when they are done. We camped at Lamar Sportsman's RV Center and Horse Motel in a Motorhome.

Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The utilities worked fine, the Wi Fi was ok. The staff was less than welcoming. They were somewhat rude, uncaring. The property itself was not maintained very well. We stayed here two years ago and it was much better. We were very discouraged with this visit. We will not be back. As the other comments say they are now less than an average KOA (which seems to be the trend with KOA's). We camped at Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA in a Motorhome.

Southgate RV Park of Fayetteville, Fayetteville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very clean park with a No Frills offer. The price reflects a strong 50 amp service, good water pressure and a level site. It was quiet and the owners were great. This is what it is about. No Frills, don't charge an arm and a leg but give the basic service. One of our favorites! We camped at Southgate RV Park of Fayetteville in a Motorhome.

Amarillo KOA, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with the other reviews. I am not sure why KOA feels that they should be so expensive. In our travels we have driven several miles more to avoid the Pricey KOA's. This time we were exhausted and the park is not far from the interstate. The sites are narrow, the Wi-Fi did not work well but it did work. The grounds were well kept. It is near an airport so of course you get the aircraft noise. The site was level, the power was adequate and the host was very nice. The work campers were not very happy with their job there and they made it known to several guests, that made us a bit uncomfortable. All in all the park is OK, I would expect more of a resort setting for the price but I rather stay here and be safe than at a Wal-Mart parking lot. We camped at Amarillo KOA in a Motorhome.
