Majestic Oak Resort (formerly Rustic Cove Resort), Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Staying here was our first experience with an extended stay. We stayed Dec 1, 2017 through Apr 1, 2018. This area sustained a direct hit from hurricane Harvey and we weren't sure what to expect, and I must say was pleasantly surprised. The live oaks through out the park were stripped of most of the leaves, but the park had done a great job of cleaning up the debris prior to our arrival. Concrete roads and pads, and mostly grass at sites. They have a crew to maintain the park and do a great job. We are planning to go back to this area again this fall and will be staying here at Majestic Oak. We camped at Majestic Oak Resort (formerly Rustic Cove Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Hillcrest RV Park (formerly Timber Lodge Resort), Pumpkin, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We like this campground. The quiet setting is what brings us here. If you are looking for a place with planned activities, this is not for you. All transient sites are pull-through, full hook-ups. We camped at Hillcrest RV Park (formerly Timber Lodge Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Ozark / Fort Rucker KOA, Ozark, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We liked this KOA. Check in was pleasant and the campground was neat and tidy. However, the sites were none too long and very close together. We would stay here again if in area. We camped at Ozark / Fort Rucker KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground at Barnes Crossing, Tupelo, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicer campgrounds we've visited on this trip. Check in was easy, and we were escorted to our site. Asphalt interior roads were tight but not overly so. Our site was a pull through with enough room for tow vehicle. There is enough to see here to keep you busy for a few days. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Campground at Barnes Crossing in a Fifth Wheel.

Bootheel RV Park and Event Center (formerly Hayti-Portageville RV Park, Portageville, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Check-in was putting cash in an envelope, putting in a drop box and moving on to your site. Our site was level and long enough we didn't need to unhook. Electric was good as was water pressure. We would stay here again. We camped at Bootheel RV Park and Event Center (formerly Hayti-Portageville RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older KOA that recent owners are fixing up. A two night stay for us as we headed south for the winter. FHU pull through. In a pinch we might stay here again. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Bluffs Resort, Spring Grove, Minnesota

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed at this campground many times, and each time is just as enjoyable as the last. Our site was level and spacious with full hook-ups. Cell phone reception is difficult at best, and their Wi-Fi is improving. We will stay here again, for sure. We camped at Hidden Bluffs Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Crossroads RV Park, Mount Pleasant, Iowa

Overall Rating:

This is a no-frills RV park, but by no means is a negative mark. Park is neat and clean and very well groomed. This was an overnite stay for us, our site was long enough we didn't need to unhook, and was spot on level too, nice. We camped at Crossroads RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Casino Hinckley RV Resort, Hinckley, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

If you arrive before 2PM and do not wish to pay the $10 early check-in fee, you can leave, or sit in the parking lot until 2pm. We decided to pay the $10, and it was reflected on the receipt. What burned me, and I didn't find out until I got my bank statement, they charged me twice for the early check-in. When I called them to contest the charge, they referred me to my receipt.

The campsite we had was difficult to back into as there was a campsite marker light on one side and a trash can on the other. The hook-ups were centered on the site for easy access, included water, electric, sewer and cable tv. Leveling wasn't a problem We camped at Grand Casino Hinckley RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Eby's Pines Campground, Bristol, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Secure campground, you need a pass card to enter, which you get when you check in. Check in was easy, and a relatively well stocked store. Main interior roads are asphalt, others are gravel. Our site #310 was very level and long enough to park TV in front of , or behind our rig. Plenty of shade with towering pines. We stayed 10 days over Memorial week-end, and they were busy. We would stay here again. We camped at Eby's Pines Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Pointe RV Resort, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations via the Coast to Coast web site. Upon arrival, they could not find my reservation, I told them it was made online via CC, when they looked on the website, they found my reservation, lucky for me they had a few sites still available. Then I was hit with the add-ons. An additional $5.oo per night resort fee, and 12 cents per kilowatt hour used during our seven day stay. The resort itself was ok, our site was close to the showers and restrooms and laundry, we had a back-in on a level concrete pad and all utilities worked. The roads through out the park were gravel . All in all our stay was fine except for the first impression. We camped at Lake Pointe RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wilderness Lakes RV Resort, Mathis, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This trip was a fact finding venture, looking for somewhere to hang our hat for a few months during the winter, and I think we found what we're looking for at Wilderness Lakes. There are many "winter texans",among the full time residents, and most seem friendly enough. The site we had was a pull-through, gravel, with a concrete patio. WSE are all good. There are enough activities going on to keep those interested, busy enough. Most rv's here were fairly new, those that were not were well kept. We put in application to come back next winter for an extended stay. We camped at Wilderness Lakes RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
