Ingalls Homestead, De Smet, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

If they had full hookups I would have given them a 10. The previous reviewer is correct about the slope of the hill. It is a bit scary but we managed to get our 27ft TT in without a problem. The sight itself is just lovely. After they closed the homestead for the night we were allowed to ride bikes down toward the school house and back, walk the dogs around the homestead, and just generally enjoy the place. It was beautiful and peaceful. We arrived on July 4th. The homestead had a perfect view of the DeSmet 4th fireworks. I would return in a heartbeat. We camped at Ingalls Homestead in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful place for a family to stay. Kids loved the pool. The owners seem to care about their place and are adding things. We camped at Twin Fountains RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Royal View Camp Resort, Canon City, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Unless you have "perfect kids and pets", I would give this park a pass. The hosts were unfriendly, unhelpful and super rude. The hosts gave the impression of instantly disliking us. We spent the entire week trying to avoid them so as not to give them reason to kick us out. Husband had to listen to a 15 minute lecture on the rules which sounded more like the reasons we are looking for to kick you out while the rest of us were stuck outside waiting in the truck. We were afraid to let our kids have fun and have our dogs walk past other dogs. To keep this short, I would only recommend this park to couples without kids, dogs, or barking dogs. We camped at Royal View Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hideaway RV Campground, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

What a massive disappointment as this park has come so highly recommended. We'd been looking forward to a trip here for months. We sent a reservation request via the form on their website for 9/3 or 9/4 for a week stay. They gave us dates and I responded to the email saying I would be calling. When we finally got a call to go through 30 minutes later (kept getting disconnected prior to someone answering), they did not honor the dates sent in the email. They said they do not do reservations via email for security reasons yet they have a reservation form online. I am pretty sure I won't ever be camping here: what a shame. We camped at Hideaway RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Worth Midtown RV Park, Fort Worth, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The park was, well maintained, the women's bathroom was very clean (did not use men's or laundry, so can't say on them) and the manager very friendly. It is located in a great location. There is a shopping center two blocks away that includes Super-Target, Starbucks (independent and in Target), several restaurants, and three/four blocks from La Familia one of the best Tex-Mex restaurants in Fort Worth. It is less than a five minute drive from The Will Rodgers, Casa Manana, Botanical Gardens, and downtown. No complaints at all. A great place for a tourist in Downtown Fort Worth to stay. We camped at Fort Worth Midtown RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Roman Nose State Park & Lodge, Watonga, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was both friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery, clean camp grounds. Plenty of family activities: paddle boats, fishing, biking, hiking, horseback trails, swimming, miniature golf, and natural springs. The only downside was the pool was closed temporarily. We camped at Roman Nose State Park & Lodge in a Travel Trailer.
