Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a BIG RV Park. Lots of amenities. We paid extra for a Lake view site, but from any site it's easy to walk to the lake and sit in the grass to relax while you look out at the Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinac Island. Sites are close together. Showers are outstanding, though they are a driving distance away. Very clean, very hot. Wi-Fi was based on a "coupon" usage. We got good Verizon MiFi during our stay. We stayed here for 6 nights. We would return. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Whitefish Hill RV Park & Campground, Rapid River, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

High points for the owner's friendliness, easy access, and cleanliness. Her office is a combination laundry room and living room. The bathrooms were clean, but I felt like I was intruding on her house when I walked in to use them. The water from the bathroom sink was hot, but the shower could only be adjusted to cold. About 50% seasonal. Nice pull thru nightly sites. Could have more potential and the grounds were all well kept and decorated nicely. The park is for sale. We camped at Whitefish Hill RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We kind of like the traffic sounds at night as we were close to the Interstate. Many sites unoccupied as it was September. Stayed only one night. We would stop again when in the area. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

VERY well run, VERY friendly, VERY clean, VERY well maintained. We were lead to our full hook up, pull-thru site. Peeked into the bathrooms, looked clean, but we didn't use them. Only campground we found in the area. We enjoyed our night stay. Nice fire pit and wood delivered to our site. We camped at St. Cloud Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Trails RV Park, Walker, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Mostly seasonal with a few daily sites. We had a long pull-thru with lots of room, but a little walk to the exceptionally clean showers. Everyone there (campers and staff) were also exceptionally friendly. The Supper Club next door is an easy walk with very good food. Bike path is about a 4 mile walk to downtown Walker. We stayed 3 nights and will plan on staying again when in the area. We camped at Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dakota Magic Casino & Hotel, Hankinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Can't beat the price - and full hook ups. Unfortunately, the whole complex lost power at about 10:00pm. Their huge generator kicked in and supplied backup power to the casino and about half of the rooms. The RV site was black. So, we ended up essentially dry-camping. The generator kicked off and went quiet at about 3:00am, when power was restored. You pick your site and register at the front desk. We ate the buffet which had very good food, but very bad service. Nothing else around. Nice stop for the night. We would stay again. We camped at Dakota Magic Casino & Hotel in a Motorhome.

Easy access to the highway and to Osage Beach and Camdenton. It was recommended by the waiter at the restaurant in Osage Beach. We would stay again. Bathrooms were very clean. As was the shower. Sites were gravel and we needed to do a little adjusting to get level. Staff very friendly and kept the park litter free. Lots of trees. Each site was shaded. We had a nice level site close to the bathrooms. We were tired when we got there so didn't walk around the park much but there was lots of space to walk. We will stay here again when going through Kansas City. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

Penmarallter Campsite, Two Harbors, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a private RV park with no pool, golf, etc. But we did have lots of shade trees, grass and quiet. The owners live on site and are very helpful and friendly. They suggested where to visit and where to eat. She made sure we were on a good site and parked in the right spot for level and slides. Only a couple of miles from Two Harbors. Exceptionally clean and well maintained area. Bathrooms are spotless and showers are hot. We had to continually adjust our antennae for good TV reception. We would go back. We camped at Penmarallter Campsite in a Motorhome.

Lakehead Boat Basin, Duluth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Two Harbors. This is the parking lot for the Marina with water and electric. No trees and one patch of grass for our dog. We didn't see any bathrooms or showers. The sounds of the boats and the water are very soothing. There are lots of photo opportunities. A short walk to LOTS of activities and Canal Park. The area is locked secure at night. We would stay again. There is a dump station. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.
