About Newbet

We RV when we can. Still have a home but try to get on the road as often as possible. We travel in a motorhome and tow our Jeep. We really depend on RV Park Reviews and I try to give them as well. Thanks to all the people who give honest reviews.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nicely located to Highway 10. Attractive sites. Nice arrangement so each has privacy. Good dog run (but gets muddy from irrigation). Just a mile from Old Messina. We try to always stay here. It's very nice and has a great gift shop too!

If you have small children or are hard of hearing like I am -- be aware of the traffic in the park. I felt that people drove their rigs dangerously fast as they came in. We were startled to have a double axel honk at us because we were close to the road. They need to do some speed checks. Also be aware that there are skunks around if you walk at night. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Apache Flats RV Resort (Military FamCamp), Sierra Vista, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Wow - what a great place to stay. Lots of space and we had a level concrete pad. We loved seeing all the animals - deer, turkey, and wild boar. They have good dog runs too. Great location to explore Tombstone, Bisbee and a Sierra Vista. We loved our stay there. Friendly staff too. We camped at Apache Flats RV Resort (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Distant Drums RV Resort, Camp Verde, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Although this park can hold lots of people, the sites are designed so that you have a small patio, a place to park, a little tree and something to look at other than your neighbor. It's a very attractive park. There is a great dog run with shade. Also a nice pool. The people who work there are awesome. One thing that was a problem was that Verizon didn't work so well - sometimes not at all. But the lovely ladies at the desk were great in finding places where I could get reception in their building. This is a central place to stay and you can explore all around you. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Older park with mostly permanent folks. Still very clean and attractive. All back-in sites. Nice dog park. Very close to post office. Verizon wireless didn't work very well there. Friendly residents and owner. We camped at Chief Sleep Easy in a Motorhome.

Pony Express RV Resort, North Salt Lake, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

There are only 3 parks worth looking at in Salt Lake. This is the best one. It's very accessible to HW 15. It's in an industrial area and is well maintained. The sites are close to each other but they do offer a bit of grass and a tree as well as a table. They have good security and seem to have good managers. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gateway FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Malmstrom AFB, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Plenty of space between parking pads. Surrounded by grass (much of which is green). Concrete Pads and paved interior. Someone has planted tomatoes at most sites but I think the frost will get them soon. This is a quiet, well tended, park. Figuring out the parking configuration may be tricky so you might want to walk around and see where to park. We were happy with our site. We camped at Gateway FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great Falls is a fun place to visit. We loved going to the C.E. Russell Museum. Also got great pictures of the falls and dam. I wouldn't mind coming back here again. It's a nice small city, very friendly, fam camp is convenient to the base but not on it. No getting on and off worries.

Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs, Saco, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in the process of being developed into a destination spot. Once the pools are complete, it should be nice. There are nice cabins as well. The RV park is gravel with full hook ups. Very dry here. They have had a drought so it's not attractive. No WiFi. Verizon phones work. The weather was windy and cold so we were not outside much. Had we wanted to use the fire ring, we would have had to clean it as it was full of butts and other junk. We camped at Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs in a Motorhome.

Lewis & Clark State Park, Williston, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Wide spaces and lots of grass. We were surprised to have to buy an annual Membership to the State Parks of ND for $25.00 in order to stay. There was no veteran's discount. Most states at least recognize veterans: especially disabled ones. So for that reason I cannot recommend staying here. It was quite out of the way for us and once we arrived and discovered the excessive fee it would have been equally expensive to drive back to civilization to a private park. We camped at Lewis & Clark State Park in a Motorhome.

Hoisington RV Park, Hoisington, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This rv park is run by a Recreation center in this small town. The spaces are located behind the rec center and have electricity and water. You are parking on the paved lot and the slots are designed to back in. Since we didn't want to unhook we used site one and pulled along side it. The 50 amp didn't work so we used site 2. We were so thankful to find the park and get out ofthe wind. It was very quiet and along side a big field where we could exercise our dog. We camped at Hoisington RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Falls Casino, Larchwood, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We were so thankful to find this spot. Family emergency in Sioux Falls and during Sturgeous and Fair. Nothing was available. We really lucked out to stay here. Such very nice people. They even let me exercise my dog on the driving range. Beautiful golf course, fabulous buffet, and OK slots. Very convenient for us to Avera Hosp. Small park but surrounded by lovely farms and green golf course. We camped at Grand Falls Casino in a Motorhome.

Memorial Park Campground, Huron, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Despite making a reservation with credit card several days in advance, we arrived to find that we didn't have a place to park. Our space was given to another person. I also noticed they have quite a few homesteaders there. Hard to understand why we couldn't have just two nights when others had been there for months. The sites are located in a city park. The surrounding area is very attractive. However, the RV sites are not very well maintained. Some sites have picnic tables and others do not. Some are very close and others have a bit more space. We waited there for several hours while they tried to find a space for us, but the clerk who managed reservations was away from her desk. I cannot recommend the park to others as there does not seem to be a reservation system in place. We camped at Memorial Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We only stayed one night. It is a small campground with lots of grass and a big playground. The back in-sites are very spacious. The lady running it is very nice and goes out of her way for her guests. We camped at Marion Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We got turned around trying to find the park. It is right off the freeway. You turn left at Casey's Gas Station which is across the from the VA Medical Center. It was a perfect place to spend the night.

James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park, Summerville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Amazing sites. Very large with picnic tables and fire pits. Just 25 sites surrounded by huge pine trees. There are hiking trails and a fishing lake. A great place to stay. We wanted to visit lookout Mountain near Chattanooga. It was 53 miles away and not a problem to get there. Also huge battleground in Lafayette - about 20 miles. Roads into the park are narrow but paved and we had no problems. Our site was paved because it was an Handicap Site. The others are gavel and level. Park has backin and pull throughs. There is no sewer but they have a dump station. We camped at James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park in a Motorhome.

Creekside RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very small spaces. Lots of traffic in the park. Trolly comes through several times a day. I worry about children on bikes. Not dog friendly. You have to walk through camping sites to access the dog walk area. I can't recommend the park for either overnight or long stays. The small sites make sitting outside impossible. We camped at Creekside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pipestem Resort State Park, Pipestem, West Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Such a lovely park and so much to do. A family could enjoy an entire vacation here. Surrounded by mountains and tall trees. There is a Tram to take you down to the river. 3 Lodges and each has a dining room. There is golf, summing pool, lake for canoes/fishing. Our space was tight but we enjoyed it. Next time we will stay in a pull through rather than the back-in. We camped at Pipestem Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

Just be sure and ask for a pull thru if you are in a larger RV. Also be sure and visit the lodge to find out what is going on. There is an ampitheater with live entertainment and we didn't know it. Also horseback riding and hay rides. Really wonderful park.
