Casini Ranch Family Campground, Duncans Mills, California

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived shortly before 6 p.m. (after nightfall) and there was nobody in the office, no information on the office door regarding availability, prices and so on, plain nothing. We asked another happy camper and they showed us some sites. We chose one with water and power only and out of curiosity tried the Wi-Fi. We found a signal but it was impossible to get online even though we followed the step by step instructions given on a welcome website. The showers are tiled but where the door should be, there was the curtain and where the curtain should be there was nothing. Therefore, whatever you did or how cautious you are, after showering everything is wet and the water is all over the floor. The next one coming in with his dirty shoes has to walk through the water and it will really look messy from then on, not just wet. Too bad! In the morning we were charged $42.18 for 2 adults for a bad service, no information and a site which would have needed more planks than we had to make it level. Half of the restroom was out of order and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. I really felt cheated big time and the lady wasn't too keen to listen to my suggestions. The 3 points I give are for the setting and layout only. We camped at Casini Ranch Family Campground in a Truck Camper.

Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park, Garberville, California

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

It's a nice park with plenty of trees. The site was almost level; basic hookups were there, but the WI-FI didn't work even though I was told it would but would be slow. The washrooms are nicely painted but dated. The shower cabinet is small (I'm not that big a guy) and the space to put on your clothes is limited. On the upside: no coins needed! If the long term renters wouldn't have been there it would have felt like on a state park with hookups. We camped at Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Harbor RV Park, Fort Bragg, California

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The location and the view of this park is just perfect. Everything else would need some attention, starting with the office. Washroom couldn't be used as it is "down" according to staff. No picnic tables, grassy site, kind of level after using plenty of boards, utility hookups really dated, general appearance on the low side due to plenty of old mobile homes. However, WI-FI was working fine, not very fast, but working. Didn't try the cable. The trails above the bluffs starting right at the park were wonderful to use, and the sunset was priceless. We camped at Harbor RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Riverwalk RV Park, Fortuna, California

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

It's a nice park, well layout. The sites and roads are paved and almost level, you might need a board or two. WiFi was good, didn't try the cable TV. The sites were big enough for our camper but I would have appreciated a little bit more distance towards my neighbors. The washrooms are little dated and could use some upgrades and maybe a little bit more cleaning as well. Unfortunately, we had some noisy neighbors (just bad luck) and could hear the noise from Hwy 101 and the frontage road as well. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Harris Beach State Park, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park: we liked the layout and the privacy given by the trees. Some sites are more level than others and you might need a board or two. Hookups were fine, WiFi would have made it perfect. The washrooms are already a bit dated, could use some upgrades and the cleanliness was what you could expect from a park like this with that many guests. Nevertheless, we will come back again. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Truck Camper.

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park: it's well kept, has a good layout, friendly people, overlooking harbour and ocean. Not many trees for shade, not much privacy. Has good WiFi. Didn't use the cable TV. Has level sites and clean washrooms. Will definitely come back when again in this area. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Olde Stone Village RV Park, McMinnville, Oregon

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We liked it very much. Clean, level sites and good layout. All hookups you want - and working! I didn't try cable TV; was already happy with strong WI-FI. Clean washrooms and laundry. Close to highway and airport; therefore, with some noise but not too bad. Appropriate price for Good Sam member. Will return when again in this area. We camped at Olde Stone Village RV Park in a Truck Camper.
