The high Rating is due to the Golf. The course is in excellent shape and a very low price. You could pay 4 times the amount in greens fees 2 hours away and not have as nice a course it is awesome. If you are not a golfer there is not much to do. This is a quiet lakefront campground in a very secluded area. There is a Wal-Mart about 4 miles away. There are walking trails and a large lake. For golfers it is an unbelievable course for $30.00.

This is definitely a destination resort. You would come here for all the attractions within the park, not just for the campground. This is a wooded campground, so with that comes, no satellite reception, roots making roads unlevel in places, and some tight campsites. It is mountainous, so some campgrounds are unlevel, ours leveled with the hyro jacks, but many would be more suited for smaller units. The staff were very helpful, I think they would let you change sites. The bath houses were clean, modern, and well ventilated. I would have gave it a 10 if it had free Wi-Fi and cable TV. We loved it and the kids had a great time.

We stayed here during the Autofair event at the speedway. Campground was well managed. Security was tight. Quite time was strictly enforced. Due to the size of the event, the park was full. At check in they said: we enforce the rules. It was a very pleasant experience. The campground itself does not have many amenities. The assumption is that you are here for speedway events, or shopping.

Just returned from a 5 night stay Halloween week. Without question this is the nicest RV park we have ever been too. The cleanliness is immaculate. The activities are enormous. For example - just being able to see all the Disney horses and watch a Percheron being shoed by the farrier was a wonderful experience for our children. The campfire program is priceless. The pools are large, clean and well managed. The bathhouses and showers are without question the nicest I have ever seen. It just doesn't get any better. Yes, I agree the sites are a little small and the roads tight - you have to remember this campground was built when pop-ups were the norm and not 45' coaches with 4 slides. I have a 40' DP with 3 slides and 2 awnings. The office helped me locate a site that was manageable. It is a wonderful place.

We over-nighted here on our way to Florida. The campground is very convenient to I-95 but quiet. The owner lives on-site and met us when we arrived. The Wi-Fi worked very good. The sites and roads are hard packed sand. There is a restaurant on-site that looked fine but we arrived too late to need it. Most sites were occupied by long term units and some looked a little rough. I would say 80% of the sites are on a long term usage. I would not hesitate to overnight her but definitely do not see this as a destination resort and therefore I am perplexed by the 10 ratings.

Paramount has rebuilt the Carowinds theme park. They replaced all the electric and water/sewer hookups with new ones. Much paving has been done and all the picnic tables are new. They are playing on the disney theme with the name "camp wilderness". Overall we had a wonderful time. This is great for a family vacation - the shuttle to the theme park is reliable. The theme park and waterpark is awesome. The staff is very helpful. Bathhouses are clean - showers are very nice with individual stalls. They need new partitions on the toilets - they used the old ones and they should have been replaced. The lodge is very nice - store is adequete. Pool is manned by two lifeguards - minature golf is older - but FREE so how could you complain. Good place for kids to pass the time. One drawback - no cable tv. Real close to the Knights AAA baseball games at nigt - Wal Mart - 5 minutes away on the new 485 - Overall a very nice time.

We just came back from 5 nights at Ocean Lakes. The weather was perfect. The facilities are wonderful and well maintained. We have three children (5,7,13) and Ocean Lakes is a happening place. There are plenty of kids there during Spring break and there is plenty to keep them entertained. The facility is clean and safe. I saw no open display of beer. As for golf carts, they are available for rent, which is very nice, you must have a valid license. While we were there security was pulling drivers who appeared too young, and were revoking carts if a violation was found. Our family loves Ocean Lakes and can't wait to go back. But if you are looking for a quiet, desolate, adult community - this is not it.

This is a very clean, level, gravel, park within sight of Lowes Motor Speedway. It is very close to I-85. It is closest to Concord Mills/ Bass Pro shops. There are all kinds of things to do. Discovery Place in Charlotte is 15 minutes away and great for the kids. All of the NASCAR race shops are close by too. Just a wonderful base to explore the area for the weekend or longer.

We love this campground. A great place for children. The major renovation of all the pool areas, stares and laundry was awesome. A great place. The only place on the beach that lets you book a specific site and drive right to it. That may save as much a two hours during high season!!!!
