Memphis KOA , Marion, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off I55 just 4 miles north of I40. Staff was friendly, helpful including escort to site. Full hookups on level gravel sites with adequate spacing. Shady sites under mature trees still allowing satellite TV on southern sites. We only stayed overnight and would return. Wi-Fi was free though not as fast as most but, certainly adequate. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

Horseshoe RV Park (formerly RL RV Park LLC), Ranger, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Relatively new park. Easy access off interstate, gravel interior roads, level gravel sites, wide and long sites with complete hookups. Excellent Wi-Fi ($2 per day). No shade trees. Owner very nice and helpful. Pond for fishing adjacent to park. Not a destination park, but very adequate for overnight. We would certainly stay again. We camped at Horseshoe RV Park (formerly RL RV Park LLC) in a Motorhome.

Sunset Point on Lake LBJ, Marble Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellant campground for amenities and location on Lake LBJ. Staff quite friendly, park very clean, site spacing very nice. WiFi (free) was painfully slow (nearly unuseable)and no cable TV cause slight downgrade for an otherwise great park. We camped at Sunset Point on Lake LBJ in a Motorhome.

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

All of the things said about this campground are true. Best we have ever stayed in. Free, fast WiFi, relatively short list of free cable channels, instant free phone, plus all the amenities one could ask for. This park will be the one for comparison to all others in future. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Bastrop / SE Austin / Colorado River KOA, Bastrop, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Park entry is tricky but quite useable. Study the instructions carefully. Park is clean with some road noise from adjacent Highway. Pull throughs are actually two units long so if one unit is in place then the second unit on the site must back in. WiFi is very good at cost of $2. 50/day ($7. 50/wk), free cable TV with 50 plus channels, and hookups were first class. I downgrade this park slightly because of road noise and no true pull throughs. We camped at Bastrop / SE Austin / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Oakdale Park, Glen Rose, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2005 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a resort park but, it was adequate, relatively clean, adequate spacing, fairly level. Kind of a tight squeeze getting into camping area but trees were trimmed adequately to prevent dragging over coach. Choose exact camping spot for yourself and check looks of electrical boxes (some quite good, some marginal). Golf is simply great at 36 hole facility run by the county about 5 minutes from campground. We camped at Oakdale Park in a Motorhome.

Campground part of very new and well equipped recreation complex operated by city of Burnet. Camping fee gives full access to all recreational facilities including two indoor pools, walking track, exercise room and various sports facilities. They have weekly ($140) and monthly ($300) rates. Golf is very close by at a wonderful municipal course. Camping area was neat and clean. A laundry facility on campground was nearly ready to open.
