Lake Wateree State Recreation Area, Winnsboro, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $19.00

Beautiful camping area. Definitely worth the drive. There are some waterfront sites at lake level, most on a small cliff above the lake. We camped at Lake Wateree State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Middle Creek Campground, Buchanan, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is difficult to reach along very narrow and winding roads. Overall, the campground needs sprucing up and updating. The site we were given was amongst a group of long-term trailers which were deserted and in need of repair. Nice people but not worth the drive here. We camped at Middle Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The owner here was fabulous to us when an unexpected weather event necessitated a move to another campsite. We had an excellent experience because of him and the other extremely competent staff who checked on us the next morning. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! We camped at Jacksonville North / St. Marys KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Caledonia State Park, Hosack Run Campground, Fayetteville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Fabulous park! Beautiful natural surroundings, many hiking trails. They need to make it clearer that you must bring in your own fresh water. No water at sites, available water nearby but spigots are not threaded so you need an adapter. We camped at Caledonia State Park, Hosack Run Campground in a Travel Trailer.
