WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This could be an all 10 rv park but first the couple with us could not back into there site because of very low hanging branches. Someone had to come cut limbs to keep from damaging the RV. Almost all the sites are overly shaded, nice but all too low. First of all we were directed the wrong way to our site for the hookups to be on the correct side so after backing up and making a u turn We realized we were given the worst site in the whole park, site 22. This is like a half moon shaped site with a pole on one corner and tree on the other. Have you ever tried to make a 40 ft fifth wheel curve into a half moon shape that you can't pull straight into? Our door opened onto the street and there was no way to hook up the sewer until we were ready to unhook, backup to dump and leave. I will say the park could be absolutely beautiful, great bath/shower rooms, nice place to walk. There are quite a lot of permanent residents there but most sites are well kept. We would have liked to stay more than 2 nights but would not pay that high a price for that site. Only a very small motor home or pop up should be given that site. Would not stay there again. People in office really didn't care either. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park, Topeka, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

After almost 6000 miles and 14 campgrounds, our next to last stop was here. What a delight to find this lovely rv resort. Big rig friendly with large sites featuring perfectly manicured grass and nice picnic table. Lovely gated entrance with swimming pool and very nice restrooms and showers. Great walking and all paved pads for rvs and vehicles, sites are so well spaced you aren't close to neighbors. Anyone thinking about owning an rv park should use this as their model. Office staff were all very helpful and friendly. If this park was convenient to me I would stay there quite a bit. Only planned to stay one nite but enjoyed it so much decided to rest there another day. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were assigned a pull-through site close to back of park.. Sites are very close together but adequate for our one night stay. Very easy check in and navigating to our site. WiFi was good until the park started filling up and then it slowed down to a crawl. High water pressure so make sure to use a regulator. Very convenient to highway. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rustic Wagon RV Campground and Cabins, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This park is conveniently located, far enough away from main street area and close to beautiful little town of West Yellowstone and west entrance of Yellowstone NP. Sites are very close in a large gravel lot and several trees need a little trimming. Owners were extremely nice and made several good recommendations for things to see and restaurants in the area. We camped in the site that Evil Kneivel liked to camp in. It doesn't really compare with another nearby campground, but is somewhat cheaper although a little over priced but you pay for location. Owner is very nice and really does care about their park. I would stay here again. We camped at Rustic Wagon RV Campground and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Wasatch View Estates and RV Park, Ogden, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Well, if you just want a quiet place to stay this works. We stayed 2 nites on Passport America and one night at regular price of $40. This price is way too much for this park. The bath/showers were in an old unheated mobile home and I wouldn't bathe my dog there. The clubhouse was a very nice facility but was probably only used by the permanents. There were many permanents in rvs and mobile homes. The people managing the park were very nice and pleasant. Could be a very nice park with some much needed attention. I would stay for an over nite again only on Passport America. We camped at Wasatch View Estates and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Las Vegas RV Resort , Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent location to explore Las Vegas and Hoover Dam. All interior roads are paved although Somewhat narrow. Hookups in perfect location and all appear new. Park is clean, quiet, and very well managed. Pool, hot tub were very clean and attractive as well. Site was a little tricky to get out if an rv had been in the site in front of us. Very nice park for the money. We camped at Las Vegas RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Use Maps to get a satellite view of the RV registration building. There are two entrances, one on the north off W. Franklin Ave and one on the south off N. 7th. The direction are somewhat confusing but use the north entrance!. The park was fairly full with a large RV group in residence, but it was pretty quiet. The laundry was extremely busy and a few machines were out of order. Wireless internet was non-existent at the end of the park where we were (site 503) This is a lovely park, good walking or bike riding close to the neat little town of Williams and parts of Route 66. It is well worth the price you pay with Passport America. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Be sure to ride the train to the Grand Canyon. A fun and comfortable way to go. The cowboy show before and during the train ride was great and our car attendant, Kathy wth a K was very informative, fun and entertaining. Also drove to the beautiful town of Sedona.

Old West RV Park, Monticello, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I rarely give a 10 rating but this small campground rates this based on hospitality alone. The owner is a sharp shooter and will entertain you with a short demo if you ask him. He and his good friend entertained us one evening with his gun show and many stories. He also gives you a DVD of his shooting demonstrations. This is a small rv park and some sites are a little short and close but doable and wifi worked great. Clean bath rooms and laundry. We decided to stay another day just to rest and got to enjoy visiting with the owner and his lovely wife the evening before we left. The hospitality of the owners make this a great destination park. I will probably never have the opportunity to be out there again, but I would certainly stay there again if I could. Thanks for a fun time. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

United Campground of Durango, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are tight and challenging to maneuver into. The sites are facing each other, allowing no privacy. Our sewer connection was almost in the road in back of the rv so that we could not connect until we were ready to leave then back up into the road in order to connect. Sites are short and very close. The Silverton-Durango narrow gauge steam train travels through the park to the delight of campers. Pool, laundry and restrooms were clean and well maintained. The biggest attraction for us was the trolley that stops at the entrance of the park up a steep hill every 20 minutes and for a dollar, will take you to downtown Durango. There are many trolley stops in the city that makes returning easy. The location of the park is why they can charge so much. There is no cable and wifi was poor. I probably would look for another campground. We camped at United Campground of Durango in a Fifth Wheel.

Cactus RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Even though we made reservations and requested two sites together, the lady showing us our site did not make it clear which site we were going to so because we pulled up a little too far she took us all the way into the back alley and quite away from our friends instead of letting us just back up to get into space. We requested to move and she and husband did not like it one bit even though she finally did allow us to go back close to friends. I would not camp there again. Nothing but a gravel parking lot. We did walk to Del's Restaurant and enjoyed it very much and loved seeing the old sights that were part of Route 66. As long as you don't make any mistakes with the owners of the rv park or question them you would be okay to stay over nite. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Onapa RV Park and Campground, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We camped her for 2 nites while visiting friends in Muskogee. Sites were rather close together but ok for over nites. There seem to be many permanent or semi-permanent rvs there. Several could clean up there area. There is a nice playground area and could really be a good rv park. The laundry needed a little help. This is fairly convenient to interstate and good value for a Passport park. I would stay here again for over nite.. We camped at Onapa RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice, convenient small rv park. Easy to get in and located close to interstate. We had full hookup and pull thru site. The owner told us a site number and said for us to go ahead and set up and he would come by later to collect. I would definitely stop here again. Spring Lake RV Resort, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest parks we have ever stayed in. Mostly adult park, no pool but lovely small lake. I have no problem with wifi in the front area and many cable stations. It is so well kept and the owner couple are just very special people. It is like visiting family when you are here. I recommend this park highly.

Great place for a rally as they have two great buildings to use. The weather in Crossville even in July is usually very pleasant. Have been to Spring Lake several time and will definitely go again if good Lord willing. Thanks again for a great stay. We camped at Spring Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tom Johnson Campground, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the Tom Johnson Campground for 4 nites while touring the Blue Ridge Parkway. We throughly enjoyed our stay and found the park very clean and were able to have a site that satellite worked well. The restrooms and laundry were spotless. We didn't get to try their restaurant but heard it was excellent. It would be nice if the clubhouse would be open in the evening for campers to have a place to get together or play cards. Although We had to leave one day early, we had no problem getting an immediate refund. The sites were quite long and very spacious and were arranged so that you had good privacy. We were very pleased with the value of this campground and would definitely stay there again. We camped at Tom Johnson Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Smoky Mountain Meadows Campground, Bryson City, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Chose this campground because of the close proximity to Bryson City. We found the manager to be very nice and extremely helpful. Our site was basically in a field and due to Hurricane Patricia the ground was verrry wet and very unlevel. While trying to get 3 inches of boards under one side we became stuck in the mud. Thankfully the manager had a tractor and was very helpful in getting us out otherwise we would have had to be towed out. The ground was too soft for a heavy 38 foot RV and needed a lot of gravel. I would not recommend camping there in a large RV. The road to the campground is very narrow and winding and only wide enough for one vehicle in places and this seems to be a well used road. With some upgrading to the sites it could be a nice campground for tents or smaller RVs. We felt like the site fee was way too high for what you get. $20.00 would be more appropriate. While the manager was very personable, we would not camp there again. We camped at Smoky Mountain Meadows Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
