Ray Roberts Lake State Park / Johnson Branch Unit, Valley View, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2006 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice park. Reservations are not slot specific so get there early on busy weekends. Most slots have lots of shade but some can be a bit small. Most pull-through slots did not have much shade. Quite a few slots will require leveling. All of this was fine for us. The paved walking trails provide for a hassle free bike ride or hike. We stayed 4 nights over a Thanksgiving holiday and felt we could have stayed longer. We camped at Ray Roberts Lake State Park / Johnson Branch Unit in a Fifth Wheel.

Cedar Hill State Park, Cedar Hill, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2005 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Truly a wonderful park! Lots of trees makes it a great place for hiking and biking even in a hot Texas summer. We live in North Dallas and have stayed in this park 3 times in the last 6 months. For us, it's a great way to feel like we are out of town without having to make the drive. The biggest downside is limited lakefront access. We camped at Cedar Hill State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
